Even lesser studios are starting to use denuvo piracy will be dead soon.

I know you're just posting this to 'troll' people, but as a person who's really into the concept of game archival for future generations shit like Denuvo is so goddamn worrying. I don't want a future where games suddenly are lost to time because the developer or publisher goes under and nobody picks up the rights for distribution. A future where if this happens the game will cease to exist because it was never cracked

implying AA devs or even indie poorfag devs can even afford the licensing fees denuvo is asking for, plus the costs for a drm that has to work with denuvo in tandem in the first place.

Why only shit games use Denuvo?

No piracy, no gaming, vita learned the hard way.

didnt they already hack this months ago

Wouldn't spreading it make cracking it more likely?

>Even lesser studios are starting to use denuvo
that's what it already was though

>Some noname indie game using Denuvo

Hope they like no sales.

fuck
really wanted to play this

no, some guys were just selling "cracks" which were really just steam family sharing for 3$. plus you had to let this person with teamviewer having access to your pc to install it.

you never go full retard

>piracy will be dead soon
except for TV, movies, books, music, comic books, software, etc.

>ABZÛ
Ah, and I was actually looking forward to that. FFXV being denuvo'd (I'm sure it will be) as well will suck too. Ah well. Maybe they'll manage to crack it some day.

piracy died with the advent of every retailer (not talking about g2a either) from amazon to newegg selling steam keys for dirt cheap. i haven't payed more than 30 dollars for a video game in about 6 years and you never ever buy aaa games on day 1 especially if they advertise a seaosn pass so far in advance.

Mankind Divided will use denuvo ;_;

>piracy
>dying
only retards think that

Plenty of anime to watch until it's broken into

Unless its announced D:OS2, Tyranny, or Elex use devnuvo I don't really care.

It's okay, user. None of today's games are memorable enough for that to matter.

Only retards think that it's hard to kill piracy. The only thing you need is a DRM that is hard enough for the retarded, talentless "scene" mongoloids and subhuman chinks to crack and voila - you have a "uncrackable" DRM, because nobody, who could actually crack it, is going to do it for free.

That's what Denuvo is. It's complicated just enough to make it uncrackable by scene retards and the chink scum have been lying about their "cracks", since they haven't released them into public at the beginning of this month.

Its just as important to record and archive the dark ages as it is the golden.

dos2 is will be on gog
elex and tyranny are a toss up

>piracy suddenly dies
>sales die with it
At least it'd be fun to watch

If I can't pirate new games ,I might actually get some of my backlog caught up

There won't be another age after this one.

Games are dying, the industry will crash, and everyone will move on to shit mobile games.

True, even decent games come out in dark ages. Plus you do get the ability to compare dark age games with golden age ones. I've been doing that lately with early 2000 era vs. 2008-2010.

I don't think any of them really comprehend that instead of going meh, I'll try it and maybe buy it down the line I'll just go meh and go play something else. Smells an awful lot like narcissism on the developers and publishers part.

That would just create a vacuum for smaller devs to move into.

>Games are dying
Nice meme. I don't really know what genres you're into, but I like RPGs and the RPG genre is currently experiencing a renaissance.

Underrail
Age Of Decadence
SR: Dragonfall/HongKong
Divinity Original Sin

We haven't had such good RPGs since Mask of The Betrayer and New Vegas.

Can get pirate installs for denuvo games for like a dollar
Did it for doom, not a bad game but definitely not worth $60

It's a shame too because I would have bought it on sale. Now I won't buy it at all because I already paid a ruskie for it. Funny how that works.

>just want to play Dishonored 2 this year
>will probably have Denuvo

It's sad, but I'm actually perfectly fine with it. It's the industries own damn fault if it crashes. Should have stuck to offering premium products for competitive prices instead of offering less content for premium prices and gating tons of shit behind paywalls... You know, because the first thing I think of when I want to get lost in a pretend world (game) is about business transactions. Yeah, I clearly want to see ads and (DLC Store) plastered in my game. Not actually get lost and have a large game I can toil over for days that really makes me rethink how I play and introduces me to interesting places. Nope, that's silly, why would anyone want anything other than a glorified Marketplace covered with DRM? How foolish of me to want something more.

>numales angry they can no longer steal from creators

cucked by videogames, how pathetic is that.

For a lot that's true, but many will indeed just buy it now instead. How meaningful that percentage of consumers represents is an open question. Besides, most don't seem to care and simply hate pirates enough that they're willing to go down the whole cut your nose off in spite of your face path.

>Steal
Found the problem with your logic, m8.

guess i'll have to get a life now

>No one will buy games you can't crack.
>I don't need games I have movies and weeb trash. Is browsing Sup Forums
>I don't need to play when they come out I can wait till no one give a shit anymore and I already know how it ends

Admit it fags you mad and don't have a job get fucked.

You mispelled Undertale.

>steal

>paying $60+ for 1s and 0s
>calling others cucked

Yeah but interestingly all it will do is something similar to console market except on a larger scale. People will just wait and buy games when their dirt cheap. Pubs aren't going to change habits by locking people in and irritating them with DRM. They'll literally just play something else until the game comes out at a better price. That's what my friends and I do if we can't try it any other way. Not worth the money and effort to find out its shit.

would normies ever get bored of mobile games?

Let them eat cake.

But Im going to work right now user and I never buy games right when they come out

>I don't need games I have movies and weeb trash. Is browsing Sup Forums
Lmao, don't tell me you actually still play video games and come here to discuss them

>Have over $1500 sitting in the bank
No, user, I just don't let companies push me around with restrictions that aren't necessary. I don't need to play their DRM game. It shows a huge lack of faith when they have to hide it behind DRM to "try and get sales".

Just finished it. It was fucking great.

The art was three steps above Journey, but it still can't beat meet someone else in the middle of nowhere. Still, it was amazing. I think it was great for $10, the default $20 feels a bit so much.

To add to what he's saying, another issue they might face is I'm finding increasingly among people here in Canada that nobody gives a rats ass if 80 cad is 60 usd, we're only willing to pay 60 cad and if its not that price oh well wait for a sale. Its why I very rarely ever buy new games.

Shitposting at it's best.

Yes, but you replied to the wrong post, please do watch out for that, it will make your stay at Sup Forums a more enjoyable experience

if you are honestly worried then start/join a foundation to preserve games. A foundation that will buy licenses to games if the distributor ever goes under.

as far as I know this kind of thing hasn't happened yet so theres no reason to worry, but if you are worried why dont you do something instead of complaining?

I am not saying thier games are good but how can you say EA and Bethesda are 'lesser' studios? compared to who? Activision?

Media these days in general no longer pretend they're indinividualist or whatever. That is to say everything is now in on the joke, the 4th wall is completely gone. Movies are like this, see ghostbusters. Anime is like this, see anything idol or neet themed. Vidya is in on this, see micro transactions and games like undertale, I mean indie games in general even. Music is in on it, see anything where it's more about the video or trying to turn the song into a meme for "ironic" hits. As a result little content has any real gravitas, because it's referencing everything else haphazardly. Plus the usual of the majority of everything is garbage.

>over $1500
Oooh, look at this big baller shot caller.

>if the distributor ever goes under
Are there actually "people" in this very ITT thread, who think that a giant like Steam will go under in their lifetime? Lmao.

Its not financially feasible to do this with every game, hence why cracking was the better way. Companies want to upcharge the shit out of licenses even if they haven't done anything with it for years. Mainly, because companies are wasteful shits and just like to sit on gold mines until their backed into a corner so they can pull them out of their ass for some nostalgia appeal. And it often doesn't even work and they crash anyways.

>Lmao, don't tell me you actually still play video games and come here to discuss them

Fuck off nigger.

>steal
Found the shill

denuvo literally fucking caused an hdd I had to malfunction, not dissimilarly to spore's secuROM bullshit when it came out. One out-of-court settlement later though, I can say that it's a lot better than it was at first, but still a shitty program that does nothing but utilize extra resources for 0 reason. Should it ever be cracked it will forever be doomed to the same fate as every other DRM, that is, massive pain and frustration to the general consumer while pirates suffer absolutely 0 recourse or even minor annoyance.

DRM in total needs to be rethought.

Yeah I know. I think its fitting to show that what economic system we live in doesn't really do much about how people are raised. If people see success in replicating memes or better yet, if people see that success is defined by quick easy money tactics then that's what people will do. You have to change the paradigm for development. Its hard to do once you're in the thick of shit though.

Enjoy getting cucked by jews lol

They don't play games long enough or for extended enough periods to get bored. Mobile is for wasting time in between things. Console/PC gaming is an active choice to play a game. There are exceptions, but they don't seem to do particularly well, since they clash with the platform culture.

why can GOG do this? I am not talking about buying a license from a company that may want to use it I am talking about buying it from a company that is closing down.

if the company is still running the issue of DRM servers going down is minimal

What difference would it make if I had that or $50,000? Point is that it's nothing to do with being poor and that's always been a shit ad hominem statement made by those without any actual argument against those who contest these DRM schemes.

>piracy will be dead soon

>Bioshock is literally uncrackable

what exactly are you contesting? you say they are 'pushing you around' how so? Denuvo is completely invisible to the end-user, so much so that we werent even sure MGS5 had it for a few days

bioshock was 'uncrackable' because the guy most experienced with the DRM it had was on vacation. He cracked it a few days after he came back

Steam won't go under but licensing does, and when that happens steam or any other retailer will legally be obliged to pull the game (happens already), and then its existence will be tied to whoever already owns it and one else. In those instances the game can be "effectively" lost to the greater populace, and only either piracy or a new licensing deal will save it. Abandonware clauses or whatever will still require cracking, it'll just be legal, so again we're effectively talking about piracy.

I think GoG does it because the truth is that any company can do it. The honest truth is that unlike normal people, corporations aren't at any risk of dying without protection. They just want to have their cake and be able to eat it too. GoG has proven to the world that DRM is completely unnecessary but publishers still cry about being fucking poor? Yeah, no fuck that. That's why I don't support this kind of shit anymore. Its complete dog shit at this point.
In fact, it always has been. The cost of game development hasn't actually increased. Spending has increased, but not out of necessity. If devs could do it before with little to no DRM, there is no reason they can't do it today. GoG/CD Projekt Red are just the shining example of it.

>Not talking about company that may want to use it

Yeah but my point is that there are tons of companies that "may want to use it" but never will. Chrono games from square have been in this terrirtory and no one can/will buy it from them and fans have been frustrated for years. Hell people even tried to remake the games in 3d or with fan sequels and all were shut down. For every company that's closing with games to sell, there are even more who just do nothing and sit on it despite desire for it to exist by fanbases.

>Crashed SSDs
>Extra resources on CPU used for no extra benefit
>Denuvo causing errors

Just because you didn't experience or notice them doesn't mean we haven't all. And even then, using the average dumbass person is a terrible statistic. Average people hardly pay enough attention to notice where their walking with their heads buried in their phones. They only notice when it gets really bad.

A lot would be solved if public domain actually was allowed to serve its purpose again, instead of these multiple life time, complete bullshit, copyright systems.

> Chrono games from square have been in this terrirtory and no one can/will buy it from them and fans have been frustrated for years

wtf are you talking about, there is a version of chrono cross for the DS and chrono cross is on psn

>I think GoG does it because the truth is that any company can do it.

so why cant you? what are you worried about if any company could do this? you dont think there is a market for forgotten games, GoG seems to have proved that

>
hard enough for the retarded, talentless "scene" mongoloids and subhuman chinks to crack and voila - you have a "uncrackable" DRM

You do realize that you speak about people smarter than you and things you don't understand, don't you?

oh god please no

are you really bringing up nearly 2 year old rumors that were only substantiated by 1 person?

Sounds better than being cucked by laughable performance of cucksoles.

you can buy chrono trigger on the fucking iphone, I dont know what this nigga is going on about

Just checked this game out and I can't believe you people are getting pissy over an underwater Journey, rofl we already have Subnautica so who the fuck cares

>people smarter than you
No, because having knowledge in one field does not make you smarter than other people, who have knowledge in other fields. I have an engineering degree and I don't suck at what I do.

>things you don't understand
I understand enough to know that they're just poser retards with no actual talent or skills to "crack" anything of import. There are people who could crack Denuvo, but they won't, because they're not talentless "scene" mongoloids.

>runs virtual machine to obfuscate game data

hurr totally invisible, and the only reason it wasnt cracked yet is because x64 debugger is still underdevelopped. And gee i wonder why all denuvo games require x64 to run. dont talk things you know nothing about

It was an EXCELLENT game but it's an hour and twenty minutes long. I beat it and refunded it.

Developers fucking rekt.

>the only reason it wasnt cracked yet is because x64 debugger is still underdevelopped

>DENUVO WILL BE CRACKED
>I PROMISE
>REALLY THIS TIME
>ANY DAY NOW

why would I, a normal end-user, care about it obfuscating game data? the game still works with no difference in quality

I didnt mean its 'invisible' so no one cracking it can find it, I mean its 'invisible' in that it doesnt have any affect on your playing the game

>buy
I don't know what this nigga is going on about

itunes.apple.com/us/app/chrono-trigger/id479431697?mt=8

>Developers shouldn't be allowed to protect their intellectual property now because there may be a slim chance of Denuvo not being cracked in 20-30 years time!
Fuck off

You're gonna get banned from refunds.

I've refunded 25+ things and I'm still goin.

>I mean its 'invisible' in that it doesnt have any affect on your playing the game

Except that is also wrong, as long as it's using your hardware's resources for anything other than running the game it's not invisible

they say performance hit is insignificant, unless you can show otherwise I would say most users wouldnt notice 1-2% difference in performance

You're adorable, user!

DEMD was confirmed?

>they say performance hit is insignificant
Who is they? Denuvo officials or reddit shitposters? Either way they're both lacking proof and I have every right to doubt them and not trust them

>I would say most users wouldnt notice 1-2% difference in performance
Also not proof, you're basically saying it's okay to buttfuck some of your customers because they have shitier computers which may make the game even worse than what it originally would

Good thing the PS4 is getting homebrews :^)

Whether you like Denuvo or not is irrelevant. Publishers have the right to protect their intellectual property and that's what they're doing with Denuvo. If you don't like it, don't buy the games and stop crying, like spoiled children.

Yes, long time ago

Look at the games that use Denuvo, hell, look at modern videogames in general, why would you want to play all this trash in the future?

Small studios can't afford to lose the publicity that piracy gives.

Exactly.

You are the one crying, user.

No, I'm the one playing the games.
