Why does this game get praised so much? I mean, I'm only at new york, but:
>forced mouse acceleration
>game is slooooow
>combat sucks (enemy movement, weapons)
>hacking is a joke
>promotes stalker levels of savescumming
seems like one of those meme story games

It'll click.

Quit being a faggot on the internet and play the game.

do I get punished for fragging everyone in any way? fuck stealth.

I tried to play last week.
Didn't worked for me, the game has aged like milk

I think it's one of that games, if you played years ago, you can enjoy it even now, no nostalgia googles involved.

Clearly not a game designed for you, play something like league or clash of clans.

I don't like these games either, but enjoy your meme game.

>savescumming in STALKER

kys

These.
OP, don't expect the best. It will work out. I played a bit on the PS2 when I was younger (never got past the first island), then I picked up the PC version in 2012, and finished it in the beginning of 2013. I don't have the highest expectations for games, but I don't play many games past 2012, like any AAA games for example.

Stalker has a bunch of instant death trap areas, so that makes sense. Although if Stalker was a well-designed game it wouldn't have savestating like that. No FPS should.

It's not 4chans fault you dont know how to play video games.

I played it in like 2009 for the first time and fell in love with it. I like stealth games and conspiracies tho

I played it for the first time a year ago. It's fine.

>risking having to replay 5-60 minutes of gameplay because died to some random enemy that aimbotted you
wow, the skill

>It's a game developed for greater minds like mine.

I keep spamming quicksave every two seconds due to a compulsive fear of crashes

Just installed it. How unstable is the game, Any mods i need to install?
And general beginner tips i guess.

>wrestling reaction gif

yup we got a fagtard on the loose

lose* retard

Only use the "Deus Exe" launcher.

Also dump points into swimming and take the Gep Gun.

>this post

inb4 he was just trolling all along

Cool, I don't point the finger and says "FUCK THIS GAME, HORRIBLE INDEED", I just think that is more easy for someone who played it many years ago to like than someone new to the game.

I don't know the man, user, it's just a reaction image. But thank you.

Forced RPG systems are the fucking worst, it should complement the already GOOD GAMEPLAY, not be a fucking excuse.

>get praised so much
>I'm only at new york

beat the game first fgt

It still holds up. Great story, music and fantastic level design don't age. I really miss big sprawling levels in games. I still progress through my current playthrough now and then, I'm at the mission where you scuttle the super-freighter.

>RPG systems should be irrelevant

And don't even try to save your brother, it's hardcoded to be impossible.

The story is and voice acting is retarded and it has one of the worst if not the fucking worst RPG system implementation ever.

It should be about chosing a play style if you game is in fucking real time and in first person.

>do I get punished for fragging everyone in any way
unless you count being told off for killing terrorists by an undercover terrorist, no

Okay, it's time to admit it.

Human Revolution is the better game.

Who agrees?

That's exactly what Deux Ex is about.

if by better you mean worse I agree

the story sucked, the gameplay was consolized sticky cover and cinematic takedowns, and the maps were fucking tiny with hub levels made entirely of corridors

Human Revolution falls apart after you leave China.

Me, but thats just because the first one is a mess of bad design.

It actually isn't.

you can beat deus ex without levelling up at all although its gonna be frustrating waiting for your guns to take so long to aim

Too far, mate. That's just mean.

It is. You're completely fucked if you don't upgrade anything, which means your upgrades dictate your play style. Compare Human Revolution where your upgrades don't matter nearly as much.

its not a bad game its just really, really overrated by people trying to get internet cred, half of them haven't even played it and the other 40% haven't finished it. true story, hence why all the ''discussion'' dx1 gets is just snickers and do you have a single fact to back that one up and A BOMB memes

if you want a true masterpiece from that time, try system shock 2, it doesn't have any of the issues and it wasn't dated when it released

>it didn't hold my hand so it's a bad game

>It is. You're completely fucked if you don't upgrade anything
what game are you playing? the original deus ex is incredibly easy by modern game standards, its really hard to fuck it up

>You need master skills to aim properly meme

Acquire proficiency

First level is pretty boring aside from some of the hi-jinks you can pull. But eventually the game opens up a lot more.

>game is slooooow
Game gets a little faster pace, but there's going to be a lot of slow parts especially with talking and non-combat focused areas.
>combat sucks
It gets a little better the same way Morrowind does if you played, but it's always going to be pretty janky.
>hacking is a joke
Definitely overly simplistic by today's standards.

What i mean is that the core gameplay is complete shit and the RPG system is just an excuse. It should have a good core gameplay+the RPG part.

Nahhhh, HR is great but in the end it's really just a simplified version of the first game.

The level design is lacking and much more narrow, you have far less options and player freedom than the original had, and the RPG aspects are greatly reduced, similar to Bioshock vs System Shock 2.

Also, HR fucked up by rewarding you XP for taking out enemies, which favored stealth and nonlethal, and they fucked up by rewarding you XP for hacking, which made finding keys or passwords useless, since you didn't get XP for using those.

The original Deus Ex truly gave the player freedom to play however they wanted and it didn't encourage you to play one way over any others.

>it wasn't dated when it released
im not sure you were alive back then, the graphics were considered terrible and it was panned for it

>>game is slooooow
what? compared to first person games coming out now you run like sanic

who cares about your casual opinion, the way the ambient music was handled, gunplay, level design, etc, weren't dated like in dx1 which was would have been dated in 1995

This is suposed to be """"""good gameplay""""""".

Deus Ex is meant to be more of an RPG than a shooter.

HR is a first person shooter with very light RPG mechanics.

>System Shock 2
If he doesn't like DE I don't think SS2 will be a good fit.
>even slower start
>hard combat
>respawning enemies.

graphics are what age, not music
even if level design could age, ss2 is set on corridors on a spaceship like every other 90s fps
and being alive and playing the game when it actually came out is the opposite to being 'casual'

Gameplay is pretty shit

The atmosphere and story etc. are the draws

not enough 'splosions for you kid?

The Rickenbacker and everything after it is very lackluster. Definitely kills my enthusiasm on replays.

Once you get the Speed Enhancement, the game gets ridiculous.

Dragon's Tooth also breaks everything.

>cramped hallways level design for System Shock: not dated
>Open levels of Deus Ex: dated

>still playing FPS games
>2016

>Dragon's Tooth stealth build
kek by that point the game wasn't even fun because it was too easy.

Hey i like arena shooters. Shame about the rest.

yeah but its exciting and not a bore ''whew i can just run by these retards''
fjfjf

only casuals say only graphics can age
just man up desu
confirmed casualitis

>yeah but its exciting and not a bore ''whew i can just run by these retards''
You know Deus Ex is a stealth game?

no

the game isn't discussed because it's Sup Forums where the only discussion that happens is "x is better/worse than y"

also,
>games can age
graphics look worse than by today's standards but you're probably mad there's no overly long flashy animation for knocking someone out that you'll get bored of after the 3rd time you do it like in HR

When you load a game in STALKER all the nearby enemies instantly are aware of you.

So savescumming isn't helpful.

the gameplay is not shit

sneaking around, knocking guards out, killing the ones you can get away with, exploring different ways to get to your objective are all fun

if by gameplay you mean "shooting" then you're a faggot

>A game where you're supposed to be able to approach situations however you want to
>N-No! You're not supposed to play the game like that!

There's no penalty for killing people straight up like an action game.

Who are you quoting

>lots of choices means literally anything
It's not possible to program "every" approach.
When will this exaggeration end?

yeah but the stealth is just ''whew i can just run by these retards''

and its not a stealth game its an action fps rpg with stealth elements
the game isn't discussed because its hailed by vocal idiots who haven't played it. simple as that, most of them insist gunther can be avoided without glitching past him in the last encounter

and its not about graphics or flashy animations, my biggest gripe around it being age is how the music is handled in regards to level design, you're supposed to explore these sprawling levels and yet music is short and repeats continously which is maddening after an hour, and no, I did not just say the music is bad, I said its handled poorly, there is a fucking difference. and no, turning it off removes whatever atmosphere this shit had and rushing through the levels defeats the purpose

>caring this much about the background music
I think you have autism

autists love repetition tho

>stalker
>savescumming

If you have to savescum in that game, you are literally terrible at video games.

nigra get the gmdx mod. IT will feel half playable again,

>Game is slow

Epic lad

I mean, I did play on the hardest difficulty.
And I'll be better than you'll ever be at FPS.

>baby can't differentiate fiction from reality
And this is Square Enix will gladly take the dollars of someone who's not such a cry baby over trivial shit.

That doesn't really count though. Like you aren't dying at the same point and then reloading every time, you're just loading back up to avoid the crash. It's like time stopped and resumed, rather than going back in time altogether.

Apparently not if you can't beat stalker lmao
Maybe try CoD?

Why can't people accept flaws in the game?
The dragontooth sword and regen breaks the game to a ridiculous degree, any swimming / radiation stuff is largely useless because it isn't used enough to justify them and the graphics are worse than Unreal
The game is amazing but far from perfect

Except I did beat Stalker on Stalker. I've finished lovely planet, devil daggers, Doom 1 and 2 on nightmare, Serious Sam and Painkiller.
I'm also on esports earnings for money won in FPS tournaments.
I will always be better than you at FPS games.

It's perfectly okay to say it isn't perfect.
But OP didn't say any of those reasons, now did he?

>accomplished what every non-casual shooter fan has done
>thinks it's some kind of achievement
You're probably subpar

...

And they may be reasons why OP thinks it isn't perfect, whats your point?
I'm pretty sure most people would agree that hacking being nothing more than watching a bar go down is pretty bad as well at least

Try doing the pripyat escape with Misery 2.0 or even better do the nuclear power plant in SoC with ZoA, if you don't save after every enemy is literally imposible

games earn their reputation when they are new

it might not meet today's standards but was the hottest thing around at the time

>coming top 4 in 9 offline tournaments and first in 3 of them
>sub par
Again, I will always be better than you.

>pic related

You seem pretty quick to defend your... erm, accomplishments. Definitely trash. :)

I played it for the first time last year. Now it's in my top ten.

Get taste

Yeah and when it came out the game was tits. If you're trying to look at it through the eyes of a 16 year old, then no wonder it doesn't stack up.

>damage control: the post
rip scrub

I honestly feel bad for someone who can't enjoy Deus ex. You're truly missing out.

OP, get past Hong Kong. You have the same opinion everyone else has of Deus ex pre Hong Kong.

>the last 5 posts weren't epic damage control already
>"again, I will always be better than you"
Ego: bruised

Tbh, what kind of loser touts being good at shooters/video games in general

I just started playing it few days ago. It's a good and fun game, but still overrated . It's good, but not god-tier like many people on Sup Forums claim.

It's god tier

You'll think differently as you get farther.

It's god tier

And the actual good post on the thread will be forgotten cause swears and rage "discusions".

The OP already sounds like he's too underage to get it.
