indiana jones memes: the zone

When I originally played WoW I enjoyed Silverpine Forest the most.

Old school Desolace was true kino

This is disturbingly accurate

It's one of the better cata-revamped zones too.

>le kill 99999 centaurs quest

Thats about the time the magic ended for me.
Desolace was when I stopped wildly enjoying myself in WoW. It also coincided with the battlegrounds patch, which made world PvP not as exciting, as in there weren't people actively hunting for PvP kills.

The design of the location is good, unfortunately all the quests and dungeons are literally poor Indiana Jones memes and references which kill the zone for me.

Vash'jir is still my favourite zone and is criminally underrated because plebs can't handle actual 3 dimensional movement that includes verticality.

Vanilla Desolace and Vanilla Westfall!

fuck no
the best zone is ungoro

>vanilla desolace
I'm still having nightmares where centaurs gangrape me

Northrend had all of the best zones. I want to go back bros. I miss it. I miss wintergrasp, i miss Dalaran. I miss the Comfy hills. It's unfair

Searing Gorge

The entire dwarf fort in the center of the zone was magic.

I really loved the underwater zone, whatever it was called. I think that's the only time i've ever cleared an entire zone through half a dozen unsubs and resubs from vanilla to MoP.

It's Vashj'ir, you're my nigger.

I would agree with before Legion, but the Broken Isles is actually comfier and more aesthetic than Northrend

Vash'jir my dude. That zone has some magical hold on me, when I level up new characters I always go through the whole thing.

That zone music too.

>green legion shit everywhere
puke

post screenshots to prove me wrong

>Best Vanilla
Westfall
>Best TBC
Nagrand(cliche but hey)
>Best WotlK
Storm peaks, Howling fjord is also acceptable
>Best Cata
Uldum hands down
>Best MoP
Kun lai summit was rad
>Best WoD
All were average none stood out

Post em boys

the barrens
>muh barrens chat

second favorite is either Winterspring or Tanaris.

here's a man of taste

sure there was 5 quests, 12 friendly npcs and just fucking REXXAR patrolling between there and ferelas but damn I loved desolace

>vashj'ir was my favorite zone
>now buggy as fuck and on top of that they've gutted some of the questlines

thanks blizzard

blackrock mountain looming over the entire zone added a lot of atmosphere

also this music
youtube.com/watch?v=9l5DkBMQ4to

The best zone is vanilla Silithus. visually at least.

Winterspring, easily.
It's just so calm and there's very little bullshit even after Cata. No towns under attack, no vehicles, no lava pits.
It's perfect.

>Nobody saying Thousand Needles

Plebs, all of you.

I'll never know. Haven't played since panda. The shitty China theme in that game killed the comfy for me

Not him but only one of the zones has Legion shit. Literally everything else is unspoiled.

youtube.com/watch?v=nnjGw9ZL3QQ

I'm still not resubbing though since they turned the game into lifeless dumbed down shitfest.

Levels ~30-50 truly were the comfiest.

Tanaris.

I love me some desert levels.

It was my favorite zone while leveling. So laid back, mostly because people were grinding through it to avoid gank squads in stv

>Nagrand(cliche but hey)
I will never understand the popularity of Nagrand unless you mean night time.
It only looks good at night, otherwise it's shit.

I prefer Terokkar and Hellfire over daytime Nagrand.

>Vanilla
Westfall, that fucking sunset was just too comfy to witness
>TBC
Terrokar Forest
>LK
Grizzly Hills
>Cata
Uldum
>MoP
Whole pandaland was comfy as fuck
>WoD
Spire of Araak

>comfy

Is there any buzzword meme that needs to die harder?

youtube.com/watch?v=tLG-rC8blFU

>tfw getting the urge to play vanilla private servers again
>tfw blizz will never release legacy servers

My personal fave is Wintergrasp
That fucking music tho
youtu.be/FNcjANP9y_U

Where my Silithus bros at? Most underrated zone in the game.

Eversong Woods
I swear to God i could leveling here a million time without being bored.

It has the best music best atmosphere and best quests

youtube.com/watch?v=ZNstdF54ypo

Playing on Nostalrius proved to me that vanilla really was special and that it wasn't all nostalgia.
F

Buzzword
Meme

There's two

>implying blizzard would ever give the support legacy servers need to be relevant
people beat naxx in a couple months, then what? fuck around in clearly unbalanced pvp for eternity?

That's what I was afraid of as well, but less than 10% is actually Legion stuff

Check out for yourself

This + Ghostlands

>centaurs gangrape me
those are not called nightmares user

Because Egypt.

I really love Storm Peaks. The zone feels massive, with all the Titan temples and ruins in the sides of the cliff.

Patrician choice.

Howling Fjord is the best zone in the game, pleb.

>that calm, soothing soundtrack
>best ingame cutscene in with Keleseth and the forsaken
>viking thematics, villages and castle
>cable car takes you to the isolated island that is the comfiest place in the entire game

Only places to come close to it are Eversong Woods and Dun Morog.

>Vanilla Eastern Kingdoms Side:
Westfall

>Vanilla Kalimdor Side:
Azshara

>TBC
Hellfire Peninsula

>WotLK
Grizzly Hills

>Cataclysm
Vash'jir

>MoP/WoD/Legion
DROPPED

youtu.be/AIGROVO4wUg?t=205

Every counterargument to legacy servers were dissected and debated ad nauseum in the months after Nost got shut down. You clearly don't know what you're talking about and didn't pay attention in that time so be quiet.

>Vanilla
Barrens, if only because it was very active and fun to shitpost in general chat. The actual zone itself was okay, I remember some cool stuff like the bunker event which was kind of unique
>BC
Hellfire, was just such a fucking weird and interesting zone after Vanilla and shit like Fel Reavers spiced it up
>Wrath
Storm Peaks, maximum comfy and cool quest chains
>Cata
Vashj'ir, still probably the prettiest zone in the game, quests were alright
>MoP
Jade Forest was the only one I particularly liked, felt like they pooled most of their resources into that zone
>WoD
Spires of Arak, I guess? It had a pretty coherent story throughout, but it kind of ended abruptly. Lots of secrets and detail in it though, which I like

Good choice user, i really like the feeling of slowly rebuilding the Blood elf society one by one small bits. From killing dug addicts to hunting spy and community services

And don't forget shit like Uldis inside the mountains.

Cata Desolace

nice argument, bud.

But that's not vanilla Azshara

Pre-cata Barrens.

I'm down with this except Azshara because i hardly remember it.

>I will never understand the popularity of Nagrand

People who had skinning as a profession were hard the whole time they spent there.

LFR allows players to beat current content without even thinking a month after launch, so I don't see the problem

Winterspring, Nagrand, Grizzly Hills, Vashj'ir, Valley of the Four Winds

Anu belore dela'na , anons

>cuntaur gang rape
>post picture of a centaur

Vanilla- Feralas
BC- Nagrand
WOTLK- Grizzly Hills

and then I quit WoW before Cata launched.

>You will never again accidentally wander into the Burning Steeps at lvl 20 and get you shit completely pushed in by literally everything

My first time playing WoW were some of my fondest memories playing vidya ;_;

>Vanilla
The entire area of Thousand Needles/Shimmering Flats/Tanaris
>TBC
Netherstorm
>WotLK
Sholazar Basin
>Cata
Hated the expansion and dropped it after a couple of months but Deepholm was quite a nice area.

Like nearly very other zone it changed, Cata completely fucked over Desolace. The whoel point of that zone was that it was lifeless and bleak. You were supposed to lose all hope going through that place until you found the comfy little troll village. Cata Deso is just like every other zone but more grey.

because they know there's going to be something new in 6 months. if that was it, do you really think they'd stick around?

pre-1.8.0 Silithus

I know, I just can't be fucked to retread old ground when I did it for months already.

Vanilla Azshara was amazing, and then Blizzard had to rape it with fucking goblins in Cata.

youtube.com/watch?v=_URR69pUbFE

That explains it, I never play leather classes so I never use skinning. Besides fuck Rogues, Druids and Hunters.
ESPECIALLY HUNTERS, FUCK THEM.

A shit zone for alliance, i used to play for both faction. It's godlike for horde. And there's maraudon. I remember spending the entire Saturday night to Sunday morning just to clear the whole maraudon from getting key/scepter and the fatass princess.

You're in Nesingwary's camp and you hear this youtube.com/watch?v=5cFj6T9lOtM
wat do

>Best TBC
>Nagrand(cliche but hey)
Can't agree more. Feel like african, sunshine and pretty much comfy. Ain't a great place to farm endgame shit tho.

>Hated the expansion and dropped it after a couple of months but Deepholm was quite a nice area.
Cata was the breaking point for me, I decided to finish it since it had actualy good dungeons on launch before they nerfed everything into the ground a month later but then reworked Zul Gurub and Aman came out which again had pretty decent difficulty level so at that point I decided to stay till the end of expansion just to see it through.
In hindsight it was a bad decision since Firelands and 4.3 were awful patches. Dropped the game the second I killed HC Derpwing and never looked back.

Once in a while I check private servers to see if there's any good TBC or WotLK ones (and there are) but I currently lack the time to devote myself to them so eh.

I was one of the first lvl 60s because I had no life back then. Was great to hit winterspring before most people

Patrician taste, 10/10 motherfucker.

It's still covered in corpses and generally barren outside of cenarion wildlands

Also Marudon was always there, having actual life in Desolace isn't new

Alterac Valley and Arathi basin

What was different about it?

>ESPECIALLY HUNTERS, FUCK THEM
nah man
>vanilla hunter
>best solo leveling speed outside an AOE grinding mage(protip, mages can't aoe grind, they get ganked or yell at other mages to fuck off)
>get that houndmaster's dick from SM
>can just solo to 60 at sonic speeds
>pulling entire instances
>kiting warriors, shamans and paladins from darnassus to STV

Play Kronos2. It's kinda shitty but it's the best you can get for vanilla. They just released AV and maybe BWL in a couple of month. There's still a lot of guild recruiting. However population is a bit dwindling and every edgy kids out there play undead or other horde race.

Thanks for proving you're part of the cancer.
Every Hunter should be exterminated.

>think Cata was bad
>want to play on Wrath private server

Dumb wrathbaby poster

Thanks for proving that not only you lack reading comprehension but also are a literal subhuman imbecile for actually defending Cata and implying that it's in any way better than WotLK.

Get cancer and die you piece of shit.

I was one of the first level 80s and probably the first in my server with a red proto. I was a tank and had to explain the strategies to random retards most of the time. Spent so many hours on alot if the challenges. Just fuck my time up

It was less casual dumb wrathbaby, kill yourself

>Cata
>less casual
For a whole month, wowitsfuckingnothing.
And then it became loot pinata far worse than WotLK ever was.

Follow your own advice.

Nothing, it was a boring zone, with boring visuals, boring quests and boring enemies.
He is just nostalgic because of the door opening event.

>playing alliance in vanilla
>lock/priests are useless and defenseless because half of everyone is undead
>rogues can't PvP because everyone else is an orc and it's like going up against a fucking dwarf hunter
>taurens have a fucking stun
>in addition to actually having priests(who are not waiting at a graveyard), UD priests(all priests) have more surviveability and damage with the best non-raid racial spell
>fucking shamans, goddamn fucking windfury

Mage detected

I remember thinking mags were pathetic when i played a hunter. I actually wondered what the point of the class was they seemed so squishy. Then i rerolled a warrior and finally understood

I must be one of the few people who like Zangarmarsh.

>get ironbound proto-drake before ToC
>they never remove them from the achievement

>hunter with engineering liberally applying bombs

Nobody could know peace from this evil.

>mage
Try Warlock.

Why do so many people hate Vashj'ir? I loved it

>Vanilla
Too many to pick one. My favorites would be: Thousand needles, Felwood, Feralas, Barrens at night, Tirisfal glades, Desolace as horde, Hillsbrad foothills, Lok modan and Westfall.
>BC
Nagrand above all else, but I also quite liked Blade edge mountains visually.
>WotLK
Grizzly hills aesthetically, Zul'Drak for insane quests.
>Cata
Surprisingly, while Cata fucked up royally most of the old content, its original zones I found to be amazingly good, Hijal is my favorite of the bunch.
>Pandaria
Now this, in contrast, had absolutely terrible zones, Valley of four winds was the only close to being good.
>Draenor
Shadowmoon as Alliance, Arak peaks as horde. Nagrand was kinda comfy, especially with those mountains in north-east corner, but it was nowhere near the old Nagrand.

People want to rush through questing to endgame and babyraged about the underwater mechanics slowing them down. Also lots of naga.

Even worse then.
