This is the Police

store.steampowered.com/app/443810/
Just had this game linked to me by a friend cause he knows I want to become a cop. It looks good and the reviews are 95% positive. Was wondering if anyone here on Sup Forums has played it, if so, what do you think of it?

I played it for a couple of hours, it was alright I'll have another look at it when it's done

It's not done?

>It's not like True Crime
>It's another 2deep4u indie game

Pass

apparently it is after checknig the steam link, i just assumed being "indie" it was early access

Great design and writing, nice strategic gameplay.

How is it 2deep4u
It's about pretty stereotyped stuff

SJWs BTFO

Can I shoot black people in this?

one of the mayor's requests was to have me fire all the blacks in my department

This looked interesting but is it a roguelike or is the story the same every time?

You could at crimes, yes. You may also have to deal with them during riots
Although there is a reason behind it
It's pretty amazing. I find it funny how the only two groups who oppose you in terms of hating the job you do is the blacks and the feminists, much like real life

Story is the same, there are random events and crimes in main gameplay like in Crusaders Kings.

This. The game is right up Sup Forums's alley although its obviously satire. Some reviewing sites like Destructoid and Killscreen where so triggered by it they gave it 3 and 4/10's.

Its a lot of content for the price tag and the replay value is pretty good. Story is very film noir with corruption everywhere and being a good cop is objectively harder. Really enjoying it, especially the music.

Speaking of music, can you get more vinils in it?

Can it run on my toaster?

Define toaster.

A cliche cop drama story involving corruption, gang wars and personal troubles, which is surprisingly done well. The voice acting and dialogue is good too.
The gameplay can feel slow when you're just sitting there waiting for a crime to pop up. However there's plenty of different random events that happen and sometimes you can choose what to do/say in them. A lot of funny things can happen too like choosing to use police brutality on a feminist protest. Investigations are a bit hit and miss because they require you to connect a series of events in chronological order, but it may take in-game days until your detectives can come up with the pieces.
There's a bit more too it but I've already written a lengthy post. I'm on day 20 so far but I've found the core gameplay to be addictive and the story/atmosphere helps nail that cop feel.

Newer thinkpad

Yeah you can get them through favors, event or even buy them from day 7 on.

you can buy some from the brochure that is on the music selection screen

They actually rated it that bad cause they got triggered? Jesus
It has 95% positive reviews on steam, how fucking stupid are those critics

>people want me to fire all my black cops
>black cop is by far the most competent guy I have

Thanks

Should be fine, it's not that heavy

Processor: Dual Core CPU
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: Geforce 7800, AMD HD 4600, Intel HD3000 or similiar
DirectX: Version 9.0
Storage: 5 GB available space

What's the reason they have to fire him? You might be saving his life

>Having black cops
Degenerate

it was a gang in the city that said if I didn't fire all the cops they were going to cause loads of trouble

This is one of the screenshots on Steam. Does this mean I can either let feminists get fucked or beat them up myself? I might buy it if that's the case.

Yea if you don't fire him he might end up dead
You're saving him

You can get them beat the fuck up user
You send SWAT to do it I think

really interested, I'll buy it when it's cheaper. It just tips the cost factor for me.

I'd have paid a tenner for it.

not my fault no one else is even half as good as he is

it's a risk officers have to take when they put on the badge

Anyone gotten stuck with the rich guys son yet? He's totally incompetent but you can't fire him

This just made me really interested on it, specially considering the SJW reviewers seem to dislike it while the Steam reviews are positive.

are you able to send him to the police academy

can you kill black people in it?

Kill him

The only two groups who aren't happy with you are the blacks and feminists. Everyone else loves you as Chief cause you're good at it
Yea but he's going to be specifically targeted, as well as other officers. You can't put the officers directly at risk like that

Yea but he flunks out. Maybe you can when his work experience goes up a bit

>You can't put the officers directly at risk like that

I'm sorry but this is such a silly line of argument, there is no way as the police force you should cave into mob rule and just fire members of the police force because people threaten to riot and cause trouble, this is like saying that the police should cave into BLM today and just start firing/arresting officers who have been proven innocent over shootings of black males because they will cause trouble and riot if you don't, there is no way you can do that.

Promote him, after 2 stripes your cops usually start taking things more seriously.

NEVER negotiate with the terrorists, unless your negotiation is "Either you give up now, or we'll blow you the fuck out there won't be anything left to give up."

This reminded me that I needed to play all the PoliceQuests.

Are they only threatening to riot? When I got it they threatened to kill off cops, so I wasn't risking getting everyone killed, including him
I agree with what you're saying but when it happened me they were threatening to murder everyone, I couldn't risk that

You can choose not to provide police coverage to the ghettos and you can have your mob connections kill off black police officers under your command, so yes.

You actively backed down and caved into people making death threats? Are you even a police officer?

Last time they killed three officers
That didn't go well for me

The mayor's office orders you to bow down and fire them, if you don't the mayor gets pissed and you can forget about getting that raise you asked for.

I refused to fire anyone so the mayor basically started cutting my budget and I had to start sacking officers regardless.

Convince me to buy this.

What happens if all your officers are at a scene but need help. Is SWAT the most backup you can get it is like in America where you could call a Sheriff department or state police to help?

Why would you want to play a game as a stupid pig?

stop shilling your game

Fuck the mayor, crooked spineless liar.

Yea you basically have no choice
The joys of beaurocracy and government

>Be hardline leftie, for the most part.
>Really enjoy media that puts you in the shoes of right wing authority figures.

Maybe I'm a closet despot but I propose that their is some measure of joy to be found when stepping into your opponents shoes.

Or maybe old school lefties like myself are are hesitant to admit that we have more in common with the modern right than the contemporary left.

Because you can legally kill people

>Steam rating: 95% positive
>Destructoid rating: 4/10

Gee, I wonder why

I'm with you, bud.
I'm not religious and all about personal freedom and egalitarianism, but I love playing games as authoritarian, racist paladins. Reading books about torturers and inquisitors, etc.

That's what so beautiful about escapism, isn't it?

>but I love playing games as authoritarian, racist paladins
kek

>That's what so beautiful about escapism, isn't it?
Yeah, man. I like you.

They actually rated it bad because it doesn't fit their agenda. Some places are literally referencing BLM and "police brutality" and EXPECT this game to be all about that.

If you needed any more evidence that majority of video game reviewers are more pathetic and out of touch than steam reviewing memers.

Funny thing is that lefties are the 21st century authoritarians

>mfw half of these BLM and Anti Trump protests they are shouting "FUCK THE POLICE"
>the moment anti protesters show up to wreck their shit, they start yelling "POLICE HELP!!"

Fucking ivory tower millenials

The worst kinda dystopia is the one created by those who think it's in your best interests.

That's just neo-liberalism, which is pervasive along the the political spectrum in western society.

>Mayor is portrayed as an asshole
>Mob guy is portrayed as an asshole
>MC is portrayed as a jaded cop who did his best working against a shitty bureaucratic system
>Throughout the game you can do your best to be an honest cop and you will suffer for it from both the establishment and organized criminals like neo-nazi racists
>This is somehow offensive

Ima gonna pirate it to see how it is

Looks fun though so would probably buy

>blm: FUCK THE POLICE
>white leftist: t-they don't actually mean that they're just venting their anger on the system that u-uh is against them, t-they're in favor of reforming the system p-politely everyone who d-doesn't agree with me is just some spy

Is it worth £12?

It's made by Belarus developers apparently so your £12 will feed an entire development team and their family for a week.

Welp, I have no life, so I'm buying it.

If anything he aught to be able to take the targeted officers and make them LEO-Specialists with SWAT training and small unit tactics.

Fuck with Officer Johnsons, Get operated on son.

pirate it and find out friend

> Due to the recent events surrounding the US, the creators of the game made a recent statement that This Is the Police “is not a political game, but a human one.” Whatever their intentions, at its core the human essence that the game demands from itself -- the ability to make moral decisions based on what’s presented -- is missing.
Reviewers are literally so retarded that even when devs themselves state their intentions, they still keep expecting it to be some grand social commentary.

Here's some more
>As the state of US policing comes under increasingly intense scrutiny, Weappy's This Is The Police offers a disappointingly tame depiction
>any video game involving a metropolitan police service, released this summer, is automatically in conversation with current affairs.
>One needn't have seen The Wire to understand This Is The Police is a depleted take on the American inner-city.

Literally out of touch retards 2bh

As if you could afford that. This is a poor fucking city.

> I want to become a cop
JUST

Well fuck.
>Mfw my older brother was a LEO
>Motherfucker made it up to 20+ Years and a six figure salary and eventually special task helping Fed martials issue warrants.

>Liked the idea of playing as black LEOs

That guy looks based af

heh

The dumbest thing about the SJW reviewers is that the people behind this game are from Belarus, aka the last dictatorship in Europe. They probably know a thing or two about police corruption.

Well you already have a SWAT team

Why do black people kill each other and then act like they don't?

This is The Police.

>Belarus
>Europe
yeah ok

Thanks friend

He is, I kept posting the picture, and a couple months back a fellow /k/ cross poster mentioned who he was precisely because he'd trained under him toward the end of his deployment and transferring into civilian government work.

Fucking served during Desert Storm, served during Iraqi Freedom & throughout. Ended up taking a job with the Nu-BlackWater and finally with some other high end PMC group teaching a bunch of crazy fucking skillsets to people.

Because they refuse to take responsibility for themselves as a race.

t. Courthouse worker who is in division that monitors drug lords and sees black violence on a daily basis

They don't?

This is the Police - CODEX

Tight.

>CODEX
>When gog version exists
Are you retarded?

More Europe than Turkey or Georgia.

Not a scene release

So?

It's more important to point out the 300 odd cop killings because they're government.

If it's not announced and only uploaded by some pleb on some public tracker, it isn't searchable and no-one knows it exist

predb.me/?search=This Is The Police

Educate yourself a bit about how all this works

If the political leaning of the game was reversed, you'd be as triggered as those journalist idiots.

>Hostage situation
>send in Burch and a SWAT team
>point guns at the perp and he gives up
>we shoot anyway
>perpetrator arrested, cops unarmed, civilian dead
>we missed the perp and shot the hostage

Scene releases are heavily overrated. Especially when a fucking GOG version exists.

gg blyat

For 500 dollars, what is femmen.
