Recruit Brother. He's fast enough that you can swim around and get the entire opposing team to follow you but still stay out of encounter range. Then you can just pass to one of your open guys and score.
How do you recruit Brother?
also is better to play in manual than automatic?
Manual, you could just hide behind the net after scoring a point and win that way.
>score once
>hide behind goalie while you make yourself a sandwich until the time's up
Was that so hard?
Step 1 - Recruit Brother
Step 2 - Give Bother the ball
Step 3 - ?????
Step 4 - Profit
you need to have jecht shot, without it youre pretty much fucked
>Why do the opposing teams have all better stats than your team mates?
the aurochs are a canonically underdog team
First, you swap the Blitzballs with bombs.
>Save before Nimrook's last contracted game
>reset if he automatically re-signs, otherwise immediately snatch him up
>never lose because his Catch is stupidly high
technically speaking if you don't score with Tidus in the story match, there's literally no way anyone else on the team would have been able to score against the Psyches.
Blitzball is top 5 worst things to happen to a Final Fantasy game but posting thread theme youtube.com
>you need Jecht Shot
Only if you want to win the story tournament battle. If you just wait until the end game you can recruit tons of people that are better than Tidus.
Alright, here's the play.
You four get the ball to Tidus.
Tidus, you get the ball in the goal.
AUROCHS ON 3, LET'S GO!
I bet you're the kind of faggot that whines about Triple Triad not being in every iteration.
>better than tidus
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Eh, it's marginally better than Tetra Master, which had no fucking role in the story. It just exists, forever, unlearned
I mean I think I'm near end-game but I just never got back to play more Blitzball games and just continued the story mode.
I've been constantly losing even with Jetch shot.
Tidus gets better over time. Becoming a powerhouse around level 40. But someone like Brother is much better than he is in the first 30 levels. And since you can do everything you need to with Blitzball before level 20, it means that Tidus is not that good compared to others.
I'm actually not that big a fan of Triple Triad either but it's certainly better than weak ass Blitzball
the autism is strong this days
How do I recruit Brother? He flies the airship but he says things that I can't understand with his Al-bed speech.
FFX has the worst minigames in the series. Prove me wrong.
Dodging lightning was tons of fun, user.
whoever came up with the Cloister Trials should be summarily executed.
Walk up to him and press Square you'll get a small blue menu pop up, then you can hire him for X games
Blitzball is great. Get fucked
>Try this plan
>Entire team gang rapes him at a close goal shot
>Someone else kicks the ball right down the whole field
>Defenders fumble
>Goalkeeper falls asleep
>Opposing team then goes into turbo steamroll mode
>Lose the game
Yeah nah
You have to wait until you have full control of the Airship (the ability to go freely to areas). Then just walk up to him and press square.
you missed the jecht shot huh?.........lol.
>didn't use Jecht Shot 2
There's your problem.
naw, for REAL, tidus can but out like shit.....18 points a GAME?
most people who hate blitzball proooolly weren't very good at it, or recruiting. like my first playthrough i HATED it. then you get older and it's like holy shit.....this shit is rediculous.
Players on other teams shoot up in levels and keep those levels when they become free agents so you're rewarded for changing your roster like your underpants. Wakka, Titus, and arguably your original keeper are the only ones you should consistently have on the roster.
There is a Jetch shot 2?
Like Triple Triad (and FF8 in general), you only really appreciate it when you properly understand how to play it.
Blitzball was fine. It's no triple triad, but with Jecht Shot and a decent roster it's kind of fun.
That's because most Aurochs players suck hot diarrhea shit. Sign some free agents.
No you need the damn Jecht Shot. I don't care if it's the only successful way to win the Luca games - that shit is too good
Also OP play on manual and honestly just play, your dudes and you will get better
Who's your Blitzball waifu, Sup Forums?
>Jecht Shot 2
>Jecht Shot Mark III
>Jecht Shot Mark III 2?
What were they thinking
Statwise there are definitely better options, but Jecht Shot is powerful enough that it trumps stats.
Mark III is just to mislead people - it's the first one.
The Jecht Shot 2 is just the original Jecht Shot improved by Tidus.
Would you watch blitzball on TV if it was an actual sport irl?
>Linna
Macalania temple ice bridge (lost my gang al bhed)
>Vilucha
Besaid island, blue dress lady
>Shaami
TV lady, Luca fountain
>Filler
Brother, Wakka, Nedus, etc. Find someone decent. Brother and Wakka suffer diminishing returns to stats at high levels, they are better early-mid than late in the Blitzball career.
>Keepa
Starting Goalie, tech copy Grip Gloves and Super Goalie, also gets max Shoot at high levels. If you get lucky and Nimrook becomes a free agent, grab him, if only to hate draft him so he can't be used against you.
With Tidus, Linna, Shaami, and Vilucha you have the ultimate offense team, stat wise, and they all have good tech pools.
Linna starts with Nap Shot 3 also
Literally impossible to lose.
Also, MANUAL CONTROL.
This means you can get ahead in a game, then take the ball back to your goal. If you shake the defenders, even if they challenge you and can't take the ball, they will just swim back to their side.
Good way to grind games where you aren't worried about XP or Top Scorer prizes, such as farming for Wakka's prizes.
>you need it because I like it!
I got both Wakka's weapon and the title without it. All you need to do is have Brother and the one goalie you find outside the tournament hall. Literally just those two characters can do everything.
Use the tech copy ability all the time
Learn to enforce team defense.
Play to the score, keep your lead.
This woman also works fine.
You are not going to win against the Al Bheds without Jecht Shot in the early game. Brother's initial spd and shot aren't good enough for Al Bhed's defense and Nimrook. Tidus' Jecht Shot and the fact that you take out 2 defenders right in front of the goal leaves you with just about the same SH as Nimrook's CA. So after that it's just rng.
I only play the stupid game for Wakka's weapon so I constantly reset data and if I am up against Al Bhed in the tournament I do the pussy strat of 1-0 hide behind net.
Learn all of Tidus' key abilities, and then yeah.
I got the meta characters then scored a singel point then camped my base for the enemy twam to sperg the fuck out and go in circles.
Fuck Square enix's """"fun"""" minigames.
Yeah she's fine I would out her in the filler slot.
I once had a team that was Tidus' harem with Linna, Shaami, Vilucha, Her and Nuvy Ronso (gotta cover the furry fetishes)
>recruit brother sanic
>pass to sanic at the start
>hide behind own goal
>bait the enemy
>pass to teedus
>score
>Nuvy Ronso
>not Irga Ronso
No, you guys are wrong.
It doesn't have a name!
Anyone can do it if they try!
>You are not going to win against the Al Bheds without Jecht Shot in the early game.
Which is why I said in an earlier post that you only need Jecht Shot for that one story event (which you can lose anyway). Late game when you have access to all the players, all you need is Brother and the players you find in Besaid. And you can do everything.
Recruit the following:
Wakka
Brother
Rin
Nadia
Al Bhed Keeper
Never lose ever again
>How do you get good at Blitzball, Sup Forums?
Jecht Shot II, insta-win every match.
Bleetzboll is such fucking garbage.
You mentioned Wakka's weapon which you do in early Blitzball which also requires you to reset your progress(or go through a shit ton Blitzball games) so you can get it done within 30~ games. I believe it's 2 tournaments and 2 Leagues. Leagues are fine but you can get unlucky in the tournament when you face the Al Bheds in the first round with your fresh lvl 1 team. so even if you have Brother there you wont be guarenteed a win unless you have Jecht Shot.
Use manual, skirt around the outside of the arena and pass to the other front liner near the goal then take the shot. It's pretty easy to game the AI
Zanarkand Duggles > Zanarkand Abes
Kilika Beasts 4 life
>yfw their family's all died and they still played.
i mean thats what they get for living on
some planks of wood on the ocean when they
had a perfectly good island right next to them
Blitzball is fucking terrible in every single way.
The difficulty curve is awful. The first game (and likely the only game many players will play) is incredibly hard, and requires reading through pages of tutorial menus before starting if you want to hope to win. The next few games will also be difficult but once you master the shitty mechanics every other team is a joke. And all you really need to do to master it is get Tidus/ someone else worth a shit to shoot then swim behind your goal to make the other team glitch.
Even if you play it legit it's boring. All the formation options, levelling up and status effects have very little effect on the core game.
It also takes way too much time. Each game is 10 minutes but the clock stops every time you make a decision so it's really more like 15 minutes. Getting Wakkas overdrives/weapons (AKA the only reason anyone would give a shit) requires playing many leagues and tournaments. Hours upon hours playing this shitty minigame, listening to the shitty music.
The tournaments don't really work either as there's only six teams in the entire world so they have to use seeding. They really couldn't come up with two extra teams? Not even the capital city of Spira has their own team. i don't even get why Blitzball is so popular when there's only one place on the entire planet it can be played.
I mentioned getting Wakka's weapon after you get the airship. If you want to break that game and get his weapon early, then sure. You might need Jecht Shot. I never did that though.
Also, getting the weapon is the same in the late game. You still have to keep resetting the tournament until Wakka's weapon appears. With a minimum of 2 tournaments to play. Its just easier since you have access to recruit every player.
I have a question about "Resetting" do you lose all what you had learn if you do?
You called it. She's slow as fuck but damned if I don't snatch her up every time.
All your characters go back to level 1. Which is why you need a team that's good enough to win at level 1. Basically Brother, the goalie in Besaid, one of the guys in Seymour's town, a guy in the chocobo rental place before the thunder plains and Tidus. There's a guide for low level play.
The alternative is to just keep doing new tournaments over and over until the two items you want appear. But you could get all the way up to level 80 before then (which forces you to switch team members a lot).
I mean they go back to level 1 but do they lose their learnt skills?
Yes. They lose all skills and go back to what they were at the start. Except Jecht Shot if Tidus knows it.
Same happens with the teams you fight against. They go back to Level 5 or whatever they started at.
