It's a good game but your taste is pretty shit so you're best off skipping it.

Do you like Digimon? Buy it. No? Then it depends on how much you like fairly generic jrpg turn based battle systems with an interesting premise.

SMT x MegaMan Battle Network in a Digimon skin that could've been better but is enjoyable nonetheless.

Depends on how much you like digimon. The battling and raising is solid but I don't think you'd get much out of the game if you don't give a shit about digimon.


I had a blast with it but I've been craving a good turned based digimon game since the DS.

It's a good game but made entirely for Digimon fans. If your nor one you won't enjoy it nearly as much.

I watched the original anime about 15 years ago, liked the monsters, don't know if I would care about the main cast but it looks like it's not from the anime anyway.

The game is basically built on Season 1 Digimon Nostalgia. I guess even with a limited interest, it can still be fun- there's nothing that would go over your head that matters, but a few appearances are like "oh shit it's -mon!"

I'm not a weeb and I just bought this game last week and love it so far. Then again I loved digimon as a kid, and this is the digimon game I've always wanted.

Pokemon red and silver fior old shit. Newer: trails of cold memes sucked, hypdermension Neptunia had nice VN sequences but the battle system was shallow af. I play a fair amount of weeb shit nothing has really stood out yet. This is OH PEE btw.

Speaking of this, don't even bother with hard mode. 95% of it is still easy as fuck, except for the bosses, who are WAY fucking harder than literally everything else by virtue of somehow out-actioning your team of three, universally.

it has no connection to the anime, if you liked the original group of monsters you'll find plenty you recognize, and probably some new cool shit as well.

How is the story, And battle system? Also how is navigation? Random battles? Forced dungeon areas? Linearity?

Great presentation, lots of well modeled and animated Digimon, decent enough story and setting, characters are shallow but generally likable and well defined, and it's taken great strides towards being more "competitive" with a need for team balance.

It has some really bad pacing issues, the game balance all kinds of jacked up with very specific Digimon being ludicrously OP while other are laughably worthless, and build variety is kind of discouraged.

Its not a good game and mediocre at best.
The battle system is shitty and hard mode is just pure grinding to learn pierce shit.
The only pros about this game is the setting and the digiman collection. Dont fall for the goddamn shills, i shouldve listened to user when he said wait for it to drop to less than 20.

Hard mode gives more exp and money plus buffed mobs.

Not really, not unless you're genuinely a fan of Digimon and can name most of them. The story seemed incredibly boring, and most of the characters were mediocre.

Bought it on sale so wasn't a huge loss, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

It's still full price sadly. I'd get it for half off but 35 yuropoors for what looks like a quest driven dungeon crawler with a digit on paint job doesn't seem worth it. I already have two tedious jrpgs that Sup Forums overhyped: p4q and trails of cold memes where just high school fantasy bullshit with baby-tier battle systems so I'm not falling for that shit again.

I'd just buy the English version, but the localization sounds like shit. I watched some of the beginning and comparing to the VA the localization seems good, but watching videos of later parts of the game it seems that the quality dropped like a rock.

Haven't played but from what I hear it's SMT-lite with Digimon instead of demons. Sounds interesting, but I don't and won't own a Vita so there goes that.
