Thoughts and hopes for Cyberpunk 2077?
Thoughts and hopes for Cyberpunk 2077?
>always raining
>always night
>dense city
>basically just neuromancer but a game
a fucking release date
It's CD Project Red, so it won't be complete shit.
If there is paid DLC it will be worth it.
I'm glad they are working on something other than Witcher, as much as I love that franchise I think that Witcher 3 is a great place to end it or at least a have a huge hiatus.
As for Cyberpunk 2077 itself we don't really know much about it yet but I trust them to be develop a great open world rpg that it will please the fans of the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG and the millions of butthurt fans that the latest Deus Ex is going to generate for being a complete unpolished turd
Home the world is more "centered" than Witcher 3. All that constant busywork sort of killed it for me a bit.
I'd much prefer a smaller more scripted map, sort of Deus Ex deluxe, rather than a open world copy paste Ubisoft style one.
Something new with cyberspace. Not just a hacking minigame, but like an alternate reality. Maybe like a shadow realm in fantasy, where the architecture mirrors the real world.

If you asked me how the ideal version of 2077 looks like in my eyes, I'd want a first person shooter and RPG hybrid taking place in a hub-based city world, with a plot that has more to do with things like Witcher 2 rather than 3. So, political and corporate manipulation and strong, gray, main characters/antagonists.
That said, we will not get any hubs since they basically confirmed it's an open world, so I'm kind of expecting various degrees of a shit show at worst and something like GTA in a futuristic city at best. Aside from that, CDPR had always struggled with gameplay so I'm worried about the entirety of its technical side.
This.
I love Witcher to death but I gotta say, I'm getting real tired of medieval fantasy and other overused settings.
I can't think of any other dev that could pull off an open world Cyberpunk game better than CDPR, they really care about the source material.
Blade Runner: The Video Game
basically this atmosphere

>implying FPS is hard to do
literally any company can do it well if they at least try
a photo mode like newDOOM
I find myself wanting the fuck out of it in W3 after using it in DOOM
Some fucking news about it.
Like anything other than a trailer. Tel me SOMETHING about the damn game.
Isn't that a feature of the latest nvidia cards?
You say that but TES/Fallout is pretty much the only open world FPS rpgs we have these days.
pls optimize your png files sempai
I don't know man, the amount of good modern singleplayer FPS games is so low you might think it's the hardest genre to pull off.
i just want it to be good
we all get fucked over by game developers these days all the time (huge prices for games never even mind the DLC packs) and CD Projekt Red are like the only fucking people who actually seem to make a game that is worth £40 and then DLC as well is fine to pay for cause you actually get a good amount of shit in it
please be like 80% good as Witcher 3 ideally 150% better
I think nobody is trying anymore.
They figured out they can just release the same game every single year and people pay for it
It should be a TPS where you play as a detective solving crimes and shit. Small shooting mechanics but the focus would be on investigations and analyse crime scenes. You get to fly in a car but don't necessarily have to obey traffic.
I hope they look at Deus Ex: Human Revolution and say "Okay, we need to avoid to do this at all costs"
>Cyberpunk isn't about saving the humanity, it's about saving yourself
Do you agree?
This game and No Man's Sky are the only games I'm looking forward.
>thoughts and hopes?
I think they should give it a better name.
I hope they give it a better name.
What's wrong with it? You know that it's based on Cyberpunk 2020, right?
Cyberpunk 2020's cyberspace is full on 80s metal, with monsters, hallucinations and killer walls.
Gibson's matrix, what it's taken from, is basically a virtual copy of the world filled by geometrical buildings which represent the various data centers around the world, mapped to their real life location.
...
I'm in the minority but I really want it to be like the TTRPG.
Extremely lethal guns that can kill in one headshot even when armoured, extremely lethal melee augmentations, netdecking is a full-VR abstraction of hacking, lots of weird classes like rockstars and journalists, you can sell yourself to a corp for augs in exchange for your freedom, and it takes place mostly confined to one very dense urban setting.
They basically make the true sequel to Deus Ex 1.
...
I just want that deep noir feeling. Give me neon/rain soaked open world. Give me "a brooding detective with the toughest case he's ever dealt with" being the over arching story and then smaller cases/disputes against warring factions threatening to "tear this city apart" and some great dialogue to tie it all together. Gameplay can be whatever, I'd prefer getting away from that Bamham style, maybe a bit more focused on hand to hand or small arms like pistols TPS or FPS
What this guy said

Cyberpunk 2077 is all about big guns.
I've played quite a few table top games in my life, and I had no idea that cyberpunk 2020 was a thing. Thanks user, I still have high hopes for this game if it ever comes out
To be honest I was hoping they would go "incognito" and then just surprise us with Cyberpunk 2077 in E3 2017 and then release Q1 of 2018.
Now they say the Gwent game won't affect the development of Cyberpunk but I honestly don't believe it. I think they even said they have the lead writer from Witcher working on that so... yeah.
Its right there in the title?
God I almost shit myself when the guy from CDPR showed up on stage out of nowhere during E3. I figured it had to be time, the moment was at hand. Then it ended up being fucking Gwent. I'll resent it even more if it holds up production of 2077
Yeah. I mean I like gwent but I liked it as a minigame in TW3. Not sure I really feel this whole standalone idea of it. I'd rather have them focus 100% on Cyberpunk instead.
London is going full on dystopian police force
