I'm pretty new to the 3DS. Just started playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3D a few hours ago and it's great, although the graphics are disgusting.

I looked up gameplay of Theatrhythm and it seems like a very dumbed down rhythm game, but I could be wrong. Is the gameplay fun?

VLR seems great but I'm kinda hesitant because of the save bug I've heard about.
Graphics are pretty terrible overall on the 3DS version. Really cool game tho.

Well either game should work. IV is a taste of mainline, so I might recommend that one. Devil Survivor 1 Overclocked is really good too though, so keep an eye on if that one goes on sale.

Okay, i'm planning on getting a 3DS when the NX is announced and prices sink like a god damned stone.
My question to you all is, how big is the difference between original models, and the "new" 3ds? I hear that hyrule warriors and the monster hunter games are pretty much unplayable on the original models. How many other games are like that? It's about $100 difference between the two models, so i'd like to be able to play a good majority of games. How does smash run on the new 3ds versus the original, too?

Xenoblade 3d is actually a surprising solid port, I was certain it'd be MGS3 3D tier of garbage but the whole game ran fine and was comfy to play. You're right about the graphics, especially the textures, being trash though.
Also Kid Icarus Uprising is literally the best game on the console. Unless you're left-handed.
