On a scale of 1 to 10, how much does this scare you?

Do their opinions matter that much to you, OP?
It was ok. I don't really remember a ton about it except dragon swording things.
That's not System Shock 2

It was amazing for its time, and great by modern standards
OLD MEN
It was definitely up there at one point in time, but now it's aged like milk it really is unplayable compared to the standards of today
Human Revolution was a more enjoyable Deus Ex experience
Come at me.
There's people literally like me who played the first stage and thought it was shit game and uninstalled.
Shut up Ivan
DUDE SEX LMAO
It has aged very, very badly. I tried, got to about 1/3rd of the game and forgot it forever.
Friendly reminder that OP is a shitposter hoping to lower the public opinion of Deus Ex on Sup Forums by making this thread over and over
>aged like milk
loving this meme
Must be the same one spamming shit in DXHR threads and getting triggered by the Aug Lives Matter thing
>On a scale of 1 to 10, how much does this scare you?
1 that's terror
The swords and the whole HK arc in general was strange as fuck. It was fun don't get me wrong, but it felt so out of place.
>I can't run Revision at constant 60fps
fucking y?
Just go on /vr/, people say stuff like that all the time for practically any game.
youtube.com
Fucking song was stuck in my head for a long time
>It's a 'people who refuse to acknowledge how badly Deus Ex has aged' episode
Started playing this a few days ago because I've been noticing more threads than the usual about it. Went into it wanting to hate it because every other classic "RPG" Sup Forums has recommended me like Baldur's Gate 2, Vampire, Arcanum, Planescape: Torment, Morrowind and the like has all been trashed.
Was blown away by how much I actually enjoy it. I just killed Gunther, how far am I away from the game being over?
>games can age
Love this meme
Bazinga lads, bazinga.
>dat quality tho
Games don't age man, you just don't like the game or not as much you used to simple as that.
More than half way through. 30-35 hours is an optimal walkthrough time.
Why were the action-y themes the best ones?
I had to break stealth just to listen to them.
This is one of the cases where a game is LAUGHABLY overrated mostly by pseudointellectuals and people trying too hard to seem like they know about games (zoe quinn has a le quirky deus ex chip in her arm)
the ONLY saving grace of the game is being able to approach situations from multiple angles but absolutely everything surrounding that is garbage- the game gives you a terrible RPG system and uses that as an excuse for horrid "gameplay"- and this basically makes the game unfun and fucking garbage for anyone playing through the game for the first time because they have no clue what to upgrade/ invest in because theres no way for them to know anything about the upcoming missions and what type of playstyle they actually want and how to implement it
what an overrated piece of shit, deus ex is one of the best ways to spot plebs who try to come off as hardcore gamurs
k
ok
System Shock 1 is better
So it's like the pc equivalent of xenogears?
t. Millenial
What kind of an "argument" is that? Are you retarded?
There are good old games all the way back on the atari, let alone at the time deus shit came out- half life for example
The fact that there are multiple ways to complete each mission, and that your choices actually make a difference in some parts of the story is what makes the game great. Add in the large-scale setting and it can be pretty immersive.
>everything surrounding that is garbage- the game gives you a terrible RPG system and uses that as an excuse for horrid "gameplay"
How is it garbage? Dated sure, but just because you can't rush in guns blazing and you have to think and plan ahead doesn't make the gameplay bad.
>because they have no clue what to upgrade/ invest in because theres no way for them to know anything about the upcoming missions and what type of playstyle they actually want and how to implement it
The game tells you in the training section what the skills are used for. Just by playing through Liberty Island you can get a rough idea what will be useful. You might have to think a little bit, though. Deus Ex won't hold you hand the entire way through.
Started playing it recently. Almost uninstalled the game at Liberty Island then I reached Hell's Kitchen and I really started to like the game. Currently at Hong Kong and it's great. Such a shame that many people on Sup Forums quit the game at Liberty Island.
Sometimes it defaults to integrated grafix, also Revision really isn't worth it, try GMDX
All the skills are useful shitface
I quit the game at LI once too, the original casual filter
>"Such a shame."
>Not "What a shame."
What a shame.
>start first mission
>snipe some dude outside away
>get into that warehouse
>a robot starts attacking me
>run away to my guys and start a conversation
>during the conversation the robot walks up and kills the guy I talk with an then me
>uninstall
I don't know if this is the greatest or worst game
most of the time those scenarios are easily avoidable, but during one part of the game that shit was annoying as fuck. the third time when you go back to hell's kitchen to talk to that sick ex-illuminati guy there's an endless supply of unatco soldiers everywhere, who slowly converge on your location, no matter where you are. the convo with the loominati guy takes quite a while, so halfway during that i got swarmed by every fucking soldier on the map. they casually wait until the convo is over to kill you.
I never played it because I heard many complaints about how it's outdated and needs mods to even be playable and decent looking.
In many ways the standards of today are worse, what a shitty metric.
I will give it one day another try
The tutorial gives you a pretty good guideline as to what the skills are for. You just upgrade the shit you think you'd prefer to use. Not that all the skills are balanced, swimming and environmental training should have had actual implementations instead of being useless.
>but now it's aged like milk it really is unplayable compared to the standards of today
bullshit
Yeah that part with Dowd was retarded.
Ended up using speed and cloak augs just to talk to him.
