Yeah, fuck OP for actually looking forward to something. Doesn't he know where he is?
On topic, I think the only real duds Platinum's ever been behind are Ninja Turtles and Star Fox.
Let's see
>Bayonetta
>Vanquish
>Anarchy Reigns
>MGRising
The era of good Platinum.
>LoK
>Transformers
>TMNT
>Star Fox
>Scalebound
>W101
>Bayonetta 2
The current era that is shit Platinum
>Nier
It's questionable seeing that it's made in the shit era. But I'm excited for it.
I don't know. The last game I bought from them was metal gear rising
Was Bayonetta 2 that much worse than the first one? I only played the PS3 version of Bayo1 so I don't feel like I've truly played it.
but transformers was legitimately a good game.
Transformers, W101, and Bayonetta 2 were all good though. And Star Fox was ok, though definitely a disappointment.
their worst games are their Activision Licenced games.
Their best game is up to you because besides the Activision titles they have no bad games.
Platinum only did assets for Starfox.
How the game rand and how long it took to complete had nothing to do with them.
Thats like blaming Team ninja for the story of Metroid Other M.
>but transformers was legitimately a good game.
Revengence was easily my favorite of theirs, and Anarchy Reigns was also pretty great except Sega fucked up the abroad release so hard.
Worst I've touched from them was W101 since I hate gimmicky tablet/dual screen shit.
But it was. Gameplay wise it's one of their best.
...
>Worst I've touched from them was W101 since I hate gimmicky tablet/dual screen shit.
You didn't even had to use them. They were like the touchscreen controls in Bayonetta, not needed at all.
>look, I posted an MS paint comic, bet you feel silly now.
Is the PS3 version of Bayonetta that bad? Is it at least playable if it's the only system I have to play it on?
Based on a true story, though. Faggots kept shilling that garbage without showing any combat depth.
Shit taste confirmed.
I liked Nier except for the combat, so I'm hoping that Automata will fix that. But actually, I' really looking forward to Nioh. The beta is in August, I think around the 23rd.
It just has some bad frame rate drops. Personally I still loved it, but obviously the WiiU version is superior.
Transformers is a fun game, it just shouldn't have been a $60 title. No one would've bitched if it was 30.
Nioh isn't meant to be like a platinum game, it looks like it's meant to be a samurai souls game.
I'm sure Nier will be fine. The first game just had "serviceable" gameplay, so really it just needs a step up from that.
That gameplay was shit and nothing else.
>people blame platinum for star fox zero
>when Nintendo stated they wanted to make a game that needs the gamepad to be able to be played
Otherwise the controls would have been normal.
I think it's been too long since you've played truly shit gameplay if you think Nier's was shit. The worst you can say about Nier's gameplay is that it was painfully generic and samey across the board.
Operation Raccoon City, THAT is awful
Neir will probably be alright, noting worth writing home about and not as good as MGRising. But because it's a PS4 exclusive its the greatest thing ever
Scalebound will be average with good co-op fun and will be overshadowed by other triple A releases,
Shit gameplay to me is any game with no form of depth.
>not as good as MGRising
Why, because it's missing QTEs? It already surpassed MGR by a long shot.
i just wanna say i fucking love bayonetta 1
Bayonetta 2 is better than the first.
>>Bayonetta 2
No wii-u detected.
I just bought a Wii U specifically for Bayo 2. Got the game combo pack. I expected a lot out of Bayo 2, especially with all the praise Sup Forums has given it. And it is a 9/10 game. Still Bayo 1's pacing, plot and boss fights are way better and more memorable. Bayo 2 is a 10/10 in the first two hours of the game. But i feel like it blows its load early and the rest of the game feels rather average. The last boss was unintimitating and way way smaller in scale and less satisfying than Jubileous.
which trap is this?
I get less excited for Scalebound each time they announce something about it. Nier looks promising, though. I just finished the first one, and the E3 trailer made it look like a real step up.
morgan web
My favourite Platinum game is Madworld, followed by W101.
Something about that free-roaming arcade format just gets my dick hard.
Bayo 2 was easier than the first one and had less CRAZY cool shit, but I feel like that it's overall a better game than the first.
Kill yourself. youtube.com
That DOES actually look legit. I thought the only complaint about the game is that it's amazingly short or something.
Korra was passable and excusable as a bargain bin game. It was good enough for a single playthrough. Transformers was very enjoyable. TMNT though makes me have zero faith in Platinum pulling off multiplayer in Scalebound.
>you will never suck on Morgan's god-tier mammaries
Why even fucking live...
I want Anarchy Reigns 2 dammit.
do they do that on NSIC
Is there some kind of balance to NSIC sorta like how in Bayo 1 NSIC takes the training wheels off and teaches you how to play without witch time
>Bayonetta
>TW101
>shit
I can smell a single console owner from a mile away.
So, what's the problem? That you can't combo-lock stronger enemies in massive combos? I assumed that was on purpose, so you don't basically win the second you hit them like this is Skullgirls.
Yeah, I was thinking this. People complaining about making games too easy and when they do something to make it harder there are complaints, lol.
well the combo system is fugged in 2 anyway so i guess it doesn't matter
youtube.com
Is he right?
This. There is no problem. Its working as intended. If you attack those centaur enemies from the front they WILL randombly block. That is what they do. Since this is the first enemy you face, people expected it to be a pushover. Thats why you can combo from the back. That video and whoever linked it clearly doesnt understand the game mechanics.
intended does make it somehow good
poise being fucked in dark souls 3 is still "working as intended"
Platinum has ruined third person shooting games for me. I find it VERY hard to play any third person shooter after Vanquish, aside from Resident Evil 4 & 5.
who HYPE for Vanquish PC here?
Max Payne 3
Fuck off Charlie
Also excellent gameplay but virtually unplayable because of the cutscenes
Started great, new IPs and solid games.
Not much to talk about now though, their licensced stuff are of generally lower quality.
It's a shame really.
Do you guys think Scalebound will be good? Also likelihood of PC release?
It's confirmed for Windows 10
I'm interested in Nier Automata and all, but I recall a while ago there were a bunch of threads freaking out about something? The localiser? I'm not entirely sure what the issue was though, but I suspect it's just retarded bullshit like "HOW DARE THEY NOT INCLUDE JAPANESE HONORIFICS" or something.
A shit version of Lost Planet 2.
>guise look at these shit scores these recent Platinum titles got
>fails to realize that NONE OF THEIR GAMES outside of Bayonetta and it's sequel got good reviews universally
Not even 6? I mean the campaign(s) is hot garbage, but Mercenaries too?
Transformers, W101 and Bayo2 are good
Except that I didn't just talk about review scores, I actually explained why their later games were uncathartic.
Mate.
You know as well as I do that platinum don't make bad games.
At least the licensed ones are the only somewhat bad ones since the likes of Activision are behind it.

I don't really agree with the video, in that Platinum isn't as good as they were/still are, but he wasn't saying "REVIEW SCORES LUL." I mean he was actually talking about how he didn't enjoy those games by discussing mechanics, game design and the like.
Really, the video is a rant about how Platinum doesn't inspire blind loyalty for him anymore, which is understandable but I can't help but feel that he set himself up for that.
Is God Hand that good? I had a bit of trouble with it at first, but I'm not sure if it was because PCSX2 was dropping frames left and right or if I just needed to git gud.
Has a bit of a learning curve, but when it clicks
oooo boy when it clicks
I'd be willing to say it's probably the best pure 3D beat 'em up that we're going to get for a long time. It has a lot of the same principals as Clover / Plat's other action games, but it plays like a totally different beast.
Once you climb up the learning curve a bit, it all comes together in a way that not many games ever do.
Get off your ass and beat Fire Leo, pansy. You can do it.
Also, if you're playing their Capcom games, play Under the Skin. Really cute game.
I suppose I can agree, but that thumbnail was hella clickbaity.
That said, losing Straight Story sorta put a gaping wound in Platinum.
I'm just saying that I'm more psyched for it than Nier. I'm sure Nier will be great, but Nioh is something else.
>How do you feel about PlatinumGames?
They are very competent but also extremely overrated devs.
>What are their best/worst releases?
Bayo 1 / Probably Korra or the new TMNT.
>Are you excited for Nier Automata and Scalebound?
Fuck yes, and NO. In that order
Never played it but that shit looks dope
