They do, they provide a physical and audible click to notify the user that actuation has occurred and they can release the key, this results in a significant increase in speed and accuracy while typing. You just need to get used to them. I personally find the blues too light, I use the green switch (heaviest one they offer).
Blues are better for typing.
They have a lower actuation force to make activating the key require less pressure, and a lower release point to prevent accidental double-tapping a key.
I bought one for work (software engineer) and it's great. Been going strong for >2 years.

Blues are the best, but the noise is crazy. It's satisfying, but I don't want to bother anyone else in the household - I bought browns instead.

I use MX browns with 3mm thick o-rings to make the keys halt immediately after actuation. Basically a better laptop keyboard.
The best switch is German Cherry MX whichever color you prefer seriously buy a sample kit before you buy and no matter what you buy make sure the switches are German-made, not Chinese
A decent Topre keyboard will also cost you 3 times as much as a decent Cherry
