How come people never talk about this game? Its also the original or Advance that people talk about.

FFT was okay, the job system was a nice idea but the game had terrible balance and ended up being really easy and repetitive.
FFTA was an absolute disaster, it wasn't fun to play at all and was just a complete chore.
By the time FFTA2 came out I had learned my lesson.
*Its always the
I'm pretty sure there are a great number of Tactics Advance fans that would disagree with you
FFTA was a superb geemu ya scrubby dub dub
I've only managed to play through it once and I can't really remember enjoying it that much.
I played through the first two, the original being one of my favorite games of all time easily. I just can't seem to get into this one at all to be honest. I expect it to be a lot more than what it actually is.
fft was great
ffta was shit compared to fft but decent as a standalone. except for some brokenness like laws, jobs being op, the story was fun. you were the badguy.theres enough controversy for endless discusions.
ffta2 was a mechanically better game it fixed what was broken. there was no more completely fucking overpowered doublecasting/summoners or viera assassins in general. it was a better game but forgettable
There was still an infinite in FFTA2, but, you'd be right it's still better balanced. I wouldn't say by much more though.
>doublecasting summoners
>magick frenzy illusionists
>fusiler knights
>hunter ravagers
>blood-magic doublecasting summoner + critical:quicken trickster
Still had quite a few broken builds, but just about every combo was enjoyable. Kinda wish more games allowed this kind of customization.
The only regrettable thing in the game is the fucking tinkers
>mfw "Goug Watch"
Double summoning/ blood price was pretty OP in ffta2
And well... there is that strategy where you use a jugglar with smile toss and critical quicken
>trickster
Shit, I meant Juggler
Great game, people seem to forget it
I enjoyed FFTA more
>there was no more completely fucking overpowered doublecasting/summoners or viera assassins in general. it was a better game but forgettable
>Play a few missions, get access to auction house
>Grind auction house for a few hours
>Walk out dualwielding Excalibur2's and Genji outfits on every character
>Forbidden: Dmg2-Animal
People talk about FFT because it was great
People talk about FFTA because it was an abortion that's only good point was head cannoning that you were the bad guy.
No one played FFTA2.
FFTA2 sucks.
It's even more broken than FFTA. Seer with any magic user is basically an infinite mana supply; Seer/Illusionist is particularly good. Bangaa Cannoneer is just as broken, allowing you to stack buffs and target stationary bosses outside their attack range, and giving a free MP heal on anyone. Viera Summoners with Blood Magic, Doublecast, and any sort of absorb-element robe are just going to rape everything. And on the other side of the coin: Chocobo Knight is crap, Thief was gutted, Gria and Seeq are pointless, and Moogle Fusilier is worthless.
Laws are better in that violating one just removes a stage-long buff and a bonus at the end, so it's undesirable but not awful. There are a lot more missions but a lot of them are terrible or pointless: search six shiny spots to clean an airship in three turns, really? You are strictly limited to which jobs you can get by the area you are in, so while you may WANT a Chocobo Knight or a Summoner, you cannot have one until you visit the correct area, even if you fulfill the requirements well before then.
New equipment requires spending materials acquired from quests into a "marketplace" to unlock the item, which you then spend gold to purchase. Materials which, mind you, are also used to go on quests, so you could end up wasting a bunch of time because the materials you needed were spent getting some equipment, and you need to re-visit another quest to get them again. Actually, replaying FFTA2, the game is incredibly grindy right from the start, even moreso than FFTA.
Oh, and the story is stupid as fuck. If you were disappointed with the story in FFTA, don't worry. FFTA2 didn't try nearly as hard, so it just disappoints by lack of content.
>no more completely fucking overpowered doublecasting/summoners
Wut, if anything it was even more broken because of Blood Price.
Fuck you faggot I have 500+ hrs in ffta
FFTA2 took fucking forever to feel like it was finally moving and not a super long tutorial and once I did I got tired of it pretty quick.
Lots of grinding, and getting items you needed with the material system was aggravating unless you knew how to exploit it beforehand like .
For me what killed it was starting over. I'd start a file, feel like I had to grind for hours/days to get going, drop it for a while, try to start a new file but loathed the early boringness of the game.
Might try it again sometime though.
This. FFTA was so terrible, it took back sex I'd already had and retroactively transformed me back into being a virgin.
>getting your skills from weapons
>race locked classes
>no genders
>laws / no fun allowed police
ree
the thing I hated the most was the "everyone starts with 0 MP and has to regen it" shit.
It forces you to do blood casting mages especially if you're using with spells that cost more than 10 MP
dont forget they took out stealing so you couldnt strip your enemies for equipment
Seers and Cannoneers clear up that problem easily.
>Marche trapped in a world full of brown bunny warrior girls
>Wanted to escape
How much of a prancing lala homo man is he?
I didn't play FFTA2 because it was on DS and everyone tells me the story is absolute crap.
I've tried to play it on emulator but it just seems too much of a hassle and I am never able to get past the first 2 missions.
I usually think that Vaan was the worst FF main character until I remember that.
Fucking Marche, man.
I still think it's hilarious that he is so generally disliked that the creator of the story had to come out and state he meant him as a good guy.
>the creator of the story had to come out and state he meant him as a good guy.
source on that?
Shit dude thanks for reminding me to buy this shit on Amazon it's like stupid cheap
Also anyone who wants to can literally fucking buy TWEWY on Amazon from square right now
I loved FFTA but when I got FFTA2 I was overwhelmed by the amount of sidecontent. It just felt like it was going to take too long to get to a point where I felt like I had a good amount of control over my team composition.
Plus there were these missions where you had to capture monsters by weakening them to critical health, and I failed one twice because the final blow was an accidental critical which killed the target creature.
...
The game feels kind pointless, it feels like an oversized expansion to FFTA, the gameplay is barely improved and there's no history to keep your interest.
It doesn't have a particularly memorable or notable story. FFT and FFTA have good drama behind them.
Yeah sorry I want more people to buy TWEWYso there can be a second one HOW WRONG OF ME
People don't talk about FFTA2 because is kind of bad honestly.
Some gameplay elements have been streamlined and the new classes are nice but everything else is pretty much shit when compared to FFTA, especially the story.
The game also introduces a lot of uninteresting if not plain annoying side characters too and overall feels like a dumbed down version of it's predecessor.
Will there EVER be a game like this with jobs, strategy, and characters that isn't as autistic as Disgaea???
>especially the story
Fukken lol but I'll keep it in mind
It seems I can't find it user despite swearing it existed. I'll keep looking but I seem to have been mistaken at the moment. Sorry for getting your hopes up.
No.
I'm not calling you a liar or disbelieve you, I just want to read it if it exists to know what his view on the subject was.
