If it works it works. There are some games that don't work well on the average keyboard, especially if you have to press a ton of keys at once and there's no macro bind. There are some games that work better on a keyboard.

I couldn't imagine playing Rivals of Aether or Virtual On on a keyboard, but it's serviceable for a simple platformer. Then you get shit like FPS's where KB+M is the ideal and RTS games (including RTS in control only like Dota/LoL) where it's basically necessary.

Beyond that it's personal preference. If it doesn't make the game harder than it needs to be, why not?
