Sure!

yes
have they tried to explain the aliens into the new games? Ive always looked for some reference to them because they dont seem like they'd fit

I thought they were gene spliced monkeys that were made to replicate some other unseen aliens who may or may not exist.

Jesus Christ Denton!

He's miles better than that preaching Adam Jenson faggot.

Why cant have a neutral protagonist again?
Why my Squeenix be so desperate to make an ongoing hero for marketing?

Yeah they really cheapened the whole deal by bringing back Adam Jensen.

You're gonna burn alright.

>try to make MC neutral, a vessel for the player to fill with themselves
>end up creating one of the most memorable characters in vidya
How did they do it?

it's probably too early in the timeline for them to have aliens, unless Adam goes to area 51.

I take it he was agreeable?

The Nameless One.....

No, Sarevok is.

RIP Gunther

I speel...my dreeenk!

>that talk with the guy who sits in UNATCO monitoring you after you kill Navarre
JC is a savage

...

playing this for the first time and i'm going nonlethal, trying my best to sneak through the part where you have to make it to the generator to help Paul out and there's a ton of MJ12 guys

sticking with the prod and the baton, so far it sucks and i keep getting caught

should i keep going the way i am or try a different playstyle

...

Just play whatever way you find fun. Personally I only went sneaky saint on my second playthrough.

I'm not even sure what you're talking about. Is this the NSF warehouse in New York?

Jesus Christ, Denton.

Stick with the prod, prod with the prod, prod with the stick, and stick with the stick.
It's a waste to go lethal in your first run, even if you suck.

...

yeah, this place

there's something about the voice actor's delivery. plus great writing all around helps a lot.

I don't know what to tell you. There's many different ways into the warehouse once you're over the rooftops. You can lift a grate on the east side and go underground past some turrets and cameras to get in. The easiest way is probably using a thermoptic camo to sneak through the large group of NSF with dogs outside the warehouse and head left to a side entrance which has a breakable mirror. Once you're inside you simply enter the computer password (or hack it) and the entire warehouse will start blowing up. Then you just head straight outside, climb the ladder and you're done.

they were cloned using DNA from the roswell crash site

There's something that's been bothering me ever since I played this shit at release.

In the Brooklyn naval yard there's a friendly MJ12 trooper that literally lets you through and knows who you are.

WHO IS HE AND WHY.

What would be fucking amazing is if they made a game where you play as him.

Close

Sign him up for the Knicks!

...

Well I hope they start including this shit in the new ones. They better not give us any nonsense like claiming it would undermine the story they were trying to tell. I didn't care for how Taggart implied the "Illuminati" was just them hijacking a conspiracy theory to get people to fund them.

...

...

user , the game is now about raci- ..I mean the mechanical apartheid. We can't focus on conspiracies

...

...

He is.

He's one of the best mixes of sarcastic, deadpan, and intelligent.

Something a lot of people forget is that JC is an intellectual. He genuinely enjoys talking politics, philosophy, he's interested in government, and seems invested in the plotline from the beginning of the story.

Adam's great, but he's really just space marine guy part deux. He has really no investment in what is going on around him, and is focused only on moment-to-moment survival. This is partially because of his role in the story, but that makes him less of an interesting guy than JC.

That said, JC has some dumb moments in the story, too. Trying to make him invested all the time also has the double-edged sword of making it seem like he is dumping exposition every step of the way. Adam doesn't talk no where near as much as JC does, and that's probably for the best.

...

>MJ12 trooper
You mean the guy at the gate? He's U.S. military and knew of J.C. through his friend in that bar that you can talk to. If you mean someone else then I have no idea.

They were an amalgam of DNA from apes and stuff, no crash site DNA.

...

Oh yes...

I've had this downloaded for awhile because it was on sale but I haven't gotten around to playing it,what makes it so good?

...

hi

Everything but th gunplay. Play it now.

no its an mj12 trooper I even looked it up. Knew I remembered it right

>In the Brooklyn Naval Shipyards, a friendly MJ12 trooper can be encountered before entering the ship. He knows who the player is, given that he states "You must be Denton." upon encountering him, and will let them pass without incident, provided they do not attack him or his nearby comrades, even engaging in light conversation with the player. This seems to be a betrayal on the part of this trooper, but his reasoning is not given.

Maybe tomorrow, I'm tired and need to sleep but I can't get of Sup Forums

>Deus Fags were so booty blasted in the last Mankind Divided thread they made this one out of spite
>"Deus Ex is a sophisticated game for sophisticated gamurrs like myself."
>all they do is memeing around and posting "funny" reaction images
>baseless statements about JC being oh so unique and well-written despite the voice actor being clinically retarded and the lines reading like garbage even Bioware would throw away
>not to mention there are three versions of JC - so much for being unique
>weird connection between Deus Ex and the alt-right, evidenced by getting triggered by ALM concept art and black people in general
>it's just 10 people replying to each other anyway
Nice thread.

I always felt like there was something really dark about this bit

Whoah. What an enigma.

...

I liked how every character in the game was written with their own personality and motivations. Even the dumb soldiers you encounter are scoffing at gas grenades and trying to strike up conversations about authority vs freedom.

Playing through Human Revolution again reminds me how many quest-robots and plot-dispensaries there are in the game. Even Sarif feels deadpan from time to time, and he's supposed to be the most important character in the story.

I'd laugh my ass off it was just something insanely petty

>man the boss is giving me a hard time about how I hold MY fucking rifle?! I've been doing this job since he could read
>hey isnt that Denton?
>This'll show that motherfucker.

...

Thanks.

Has he been infected?

What? I just wanted a deus ex thread user-kun you jerk!

>JC has some dumb moments in the story
I've always attributed that to his being a bit naive

...

Until Rockstar got their hands on him

>>baseless statements about JC being oh so unique and well-written despite the voice actor being clinically retarded and the lines reading like garbage even Bioware would throw away

This is actually part of the story, but fuck, don't let logic or facts get in the way of your shitposting Mr. Laughing Meme man.

...

Oh yes....

...

I wonder if this was part of a scrapped side mission. Like the side mission you could run for Jock

We will never really get the Deus Ex 1 that was completed until the end with the team that was working on it.

...

...

You know what I like about Deus Ex as a whole? It's not afraid to be a little silly in the grand scheme of things, even in HR.

Also its hilarious when you use violence as a means of getting what you want and there's practically no repercussions in either game.

Deus Ex covers a broad number of issues and theories that are familiar in our own world, that's what kept me interested. The sequels focused solely on their, own plots, which isn't bad, it just caters to a different audience which people like myself are not a part of.

...

This game had a surprising amount of underboob

>Those wall textures

what mod

...

new vision

>bouncer wants you to pay an absurd amount of credits to get in the club
>can simply knock him out

...

That same joke is actually in the original game as well

>Walton Simons: You take another step forward and here I am again, like your own reflection in a hall of mirrors.

>JC Denton: That makes me one ugly son of a bitch.

HR/MD writers will NEVER EVER reach this level of wittiness or banter

I wish they hadn't brought back Adam. It will be harder to get rid of him later. Not to mention the handwave about how he suddenly has all new augs. "They were there the whole time!"
