That is quite literally all Left Behind was. The gameplay (the very little of it that was actually there) was just an excuse. It's sickening at what a desperate attempt at progressive brownie points that entire shitshow of a DLC was.

I played the whole game without the thought ever occurring that Bill is supposed to be gay. I found out afterwards when liberals where praising his characterization and I thought, "Oh, that's what he meant by 'partner.'" I take it the DLC is less subtle.

That's the thing. They way she talked about her friend at the end of the game didn't make me think she was in love with her. It feels unnecessary.

Bill was literally the best thing about the whole game, and he shows up for like an hour.

I had the same reaction as you, OP. But after snatching Remastered for 8 bucks and trying out Left Behind since it came with it, it's really not a big deal. It's a short scene, doesn't feel forced, isn't touched on ever again, and was completely fucking embellished by SJW's. It's not a bad experience, I enjoyed it.

I think it was more like Niel Druckman wanted to appease feminists, if I look at it from a meta perspective. I know that Naughty Dog had a low level employee go AWOL and start talking to kotaku about feminism after TLOU was released. I also know the Niel Druckman released a statement saying he was "surprised" that feminists didn't like the female characters in TLOU. I knew after the second article that Naughty Dog was doomed to go down the path of listening only to SJWs.

In a nutshell, feminists thought the female characters were 'tools used to move the story forward'. It's a notion I find ridiculous when considering how any male characters in the game could fit the same description.

Henry, Sam, David and Robert are all characters that die so the plot can move forward.
