Was he a villain? No Quietfags/Joostfags allowed, please

Was he a villain? No Quietfags/Joostfags allowed, please.

hard to say since it was so poorly written

>so poorly written
>implying there was even writing.

It was just a stealth sandbox game.
A good one, but nothing more than that.
Nothing particularly memorable about it.

He did what he always did, used the resources at his disposal to meet his goals.

>Nothing particularly memorable about it.
wrong

>THIS IS THE ENEMY!
>AND HE'S HERE ON HIS KNEES!
Holy shit, I didn't know RAD had it in him. That was great.

you do understand that memorable =/= enjoyable right?

Depends on how you play the game.

Unless you count the ending where he kills all the infected DD members but he did that for the greater good, how the fuck is that evil?

Anyways. I played the game like a total sociopath, kneecapping people with snipers just because I could, using molotovs to immolate them and whatever.

So my Medic was a total villain.

I meant the real Big Boss, user.

Oh shit nigger, sorry. Didn't check the pic too closely.

Yeah, Big Boss was a total douche.

youre right, i do remember all that aliasing

His base was destroyed, his forced decimated or scattered, and his supply lines were nonexistent. He needed a way to rebuild, but it would have been noticed almost immediately. Misdirection was the best thing he could do. I just wonder if he realized how well Miller would do in building a new mother base and rebuilding his forces.

If anything, the only thing that seems shitty was how he deceived Miller, even though it had to be done, so that everything was as convincing as possible. And god damn Ocelot, being a quadruple agent as always.

yeah, he was an asshole.

Big Boss was a total fucking asshole
Big Medic was a hero until he realized the truth, then went off the deep end and tried to ruin Big Boss' undeserved reputation

Who cares anymore?

...

I was actually really disappointed that you automatically lose when a child gets killt.

They should've just gone balls to the wall in forcing Boss to do horrible things to reach his ends because he's definitely not the worst guy on the face of the earth by the end of the game

>because he's definitely not the worst guy on the face of the earth by the end of the game

Is that sarcasm or?

KILL HIM! KILL THAT SON OF A BITCH!

Miller told BB he was working with Cipher all along at the end of PW. Are you surprised he got the middle finger?

haven't you killed yourself yet?

Venom Snake doesn't do much that paints him as actual scum in gameplay and most cinematics, he can even avoid killing anyone at all, if he wants.

He wanted to create a better world for people like him.

To some, that made him a villain.

To others, it made him a hero.

When Venom says "I killed them with my own hands," you didn't just shoot those men, every single one of them was there because of you. Either you pulled them off the battlefield or they volunteered solely because of you. It is your fault.

And if you think a single thing you do in The Phantom Pain is for a greater good, you're retarded

Beyond that, mission 43 isn't an "ending," the "game" ends when you kill skullface, the rest is just an epilogue

What's up senpai

Big Boss was already a villain for MSF, they have a skull logo ffs if you seriously got through all of Peace Walker without realizing how fucked up what you were doing is then I don't know man.

What he does to you is just the icing on the cake, now you know that not only is he a Cult Warlord, he's also willing to betray and lie to his fellow soldiers to further his goals.

He's a real hero. The kind that understands the ugly truth of the world, that everything has a price.

Every soldier and vehicle you fulton back to motherbase makes you scum, whether or not people die by your hand means nothing because either way you're feeding them into hell.

>Kills his mentor and best friend
>Goes out to start a band of mercenaries in the third world
>Go around fighting conflicts
>Acquire your own nuke (this is worse than genocidal rape in MG)
>Allow your soldiers to take part in any and all paid conflicts, even if they're clearly in the wrong
>Devote your life to being a gun
>Get fuck'd by Skull Face
>Wake up
>Zero made you a double to protect you
>"Nice, now I can rebuild my shit on my own terms"
>Leave your broken best friend behind
>WTF your double has created a nuke-less world peace
>Outer Heaven's in danger again without a nuke, remember '74?
>Commence construction of nuke and Metal Gear again

You joostfags are pathetic, if you had any understanding of underlying narrative you would notice that Venom Snake has nothing but disdain for Quiet, she loves him but he doesn't love her back, her dying alone and heart broken was always part of his revenge plan.

Snake slowly manipulated Quiet's feelings of hate for what happened to her into feelings of guilt for doing he stuff she did to him, and then those feelings become love to which he rejects her, just as he planned, making her lonely and depressed and suicidal, when she finally tries to kill herself she fails, and when Snake goes to """save""" Quiet, she is misled to believe that Snake wanted to bring her back to his home, when the only thing he was really there to do was stab her in the back.

Quiet was less than nothing. She didn't belong anywhere, she wasn't a diamond dog and Snake never cared about her, he certainly never loved her. No one did.

She was less than friendzoned by Venom.

He was only trying to dismantle the globalist cypher

>builds his own private army and uses it to actively work against his own nation's interests
>is willing to recruit children into this army
>steals a nuclear weapon from a US military base and develops a means to use it in combat
>hides the fact that his army is armed with nuclear weapons from the rest of the world

He certainly seems like a villain to me. You can understand why Huey would "betray" them.

Woah, I really try not pushing buttons when I post around here because of people like you. I guess you're just a very angry person who thinks anyone with a different opinion imposes on their right to exist.

The games end is where you kill your soldiers and exile Emmerich. I don't care if it's an epilogue or whatever, it's the ending to the games story, ergo "The end".

Second, Huey killed those men, you took them from the battlefield, gave them a good home where they are recognized as brothers in arms, other than just expendable meatshields like in the real army, he cared about his men, he thought of them as real brothers, every single one of them, going so far as to have pictures of them in his helicopter.
So if you even dare say that Big Boss is responsible for something he could have no idea of would happen then this discussion is over, because you're obviously subhuman scum with some kind of moral problem, and I do not wish to speak to the likes of you.

If he had not killed his men, (which they agreed to) the virus would've spread and killed literally billions of people. Do you even realize how much a billion is? The world has approximately 7 billion people in it, that's 1/7th of the world, you weakminded simpleton.

And finally, if they volunteer because they want to work under a legendary soldier, it is definetely out of Big Boss's hands. What was he going to do? Kick them out? A PMC need it's men, you fucking doof.

If you're not going to reply with an apology, don't bother, the conversation is over.

Villainy is relative. Sometimes you must become a monster to rid the world of monsters. A good shark.

Those children had no homes, they were soldiers, they were either going to die in battle or from some fucking disease.

It's not like he deployed them in battlefields or whatever, they just helped around the base.

please dont insult vets like that.
trump is another draft dodging rich boy.
fuck him

Your post would have held some weight had there been Joostfags/Quietfags in this thread in the first place. I even wrote "no Quietfags/Joostfags" in the OP so that you'd stay away, yet here you are shitting up any and every semblance of discussion. I don't care what you call it, your "truth" or whatever it is. Many people have already responded to you and acknowledged the many posts that you've made in the past month. Why don't you just go away and stop trying to seek attention? It's already been given to you on more than enough occasions.

The proof that Quiet means nothing to Venom is that she is optional. It's literally like she never existed because she provides nothing useful to Venom Snakes life.

Quiet is the only one affected by keeping her alive because she is rejected and heartbroken, and doesn't want revenge anymore.
Snake was counting on Quiet to feel something for him. Snake wanted her to think she was one of them. He could finally stop the silent act when he deserted her.
Venom also gets revenge by deserting her and breaking her heart.

Jesus, it's like you didn't even read my post. Here's your (You). One of many, I'm sure.

You Quietfags are pathetic, if you had any understanding of underlying narrative you would notice that Kiefer Sutherland has nothing but disdain for Stefanie Joosten, she loves him but he doesn't love her back, her dying alone and heart broken was always part of his revenge plan.

Kiefer slowly manipulated Stefanie's feelings of hate for what happened to her into feelings of guilt for doing he stuff she did to him, and then those feelings become love to which he rejects her, just as he planned, making her lonely and depressed and suicidal, when she finally tries to kill herself she fails, and when Kiefer goes to """save""" Stefanie, she is misled to believe that Snake wanted to bring her back to his home, when the only thing he was really there to do was stab her in the back.

Stefanie was less than nothing. She didn't belong anywhere, she wasn't a diamond dog and Kiefer never cared about her, he certainly never loved her. No one did.

Stefanie was less than friendzoned by Kiefer.

See:
Keep the (You)s coming.

NEVER FORGET

In what ways was he a villian? How many people do you have to spare/ nuclear weapons you have to disarm/ overpowering governmental super powers do you have to disestablish in order to be considered a "good guy?" He didn't even kill Huey and went out of his way establishing a globalized police force.

nah the story ends with nuke disarmament

>if I part these cheeks, will you die?

Venom deserted Quiet while she watched.

He could have brought her back and cured her, to put her in the cell again, but she was literal dead weight and he never cared about her.

NEVER FORGET

Pretty fitting end. Shows Venom doing good shit for the world but in actuality he was just being used as a pawn by Big Boss so that he could be the only one with nukes.

>Big Boss was already a villain for MSF
Basically this. Peace Walker ended with Snake in position to become the Big Boss of the first Metal Gear, MGSV didn't really add much other than some exposition in the final tapes.

Dr. Emmerich, I'm XOF

Just like Quiet was sorta a pawn for Venom, she was a piece if dirt in his eye, nothing more.

A flower he picks up in Afghanistan has more meaning in his life, has made a bigger difference, made more of an impact in his life than Quiet ever did.

Venom Snake did nothing wrong, ever.

He's the greatest villain because he made you, the player, go off and build Diamond Dogs and take care of Skull Face while he did the real Big Boss shit. You, the players, were a pawn in his game.

>Big Boss spent years building Outer Heaven, while all the cool shit he's known for was done by Venom

No, he never did anything wrong, I'm not trying to paint him as a wrongdoer. He manipulated quiet and that's one of the things that he saved the world by is abandoning Quiet and breaking her heart, making sure she died alone.

I don't even know anymore. He was used and betrayed by his country that he was prepared to die for. He went through Hell and back and came out of it with an idea to build a nation for soldiers, by soldiers.

His intentions are understandable but the means to the end are questionable.

I was playing MGS2 last night and I got into the juicy bits where you meet the president and learn the truth about the Big Shell and The Patriots.

Now I feel like I'm overthinking things, and I don't even fully understand the entire MGS universe, but isn't everything Big Boss does basically in opposition to the Patriots/Philosopher's/Wisemen's Committee?

Aren't The Patriots the ultimate bad guys in the world? That would make Big Boss a hero opposing an evil globalist, powermad organization in my eyes.

I dunno, MGS2 has my head full of conspiracies and shit. Could someone clarify things for me?

Yes

When does the game turn to shit? Just saved the niglets in chapter 18 and it's pretty good so far.

Yes, Big Boss was opposing the Patriots, which, depending on how you feel about the Patriots, makes him the hero, but his methods got really shady the farther he went, see what he did to Venom (or allowed Zero to do to Venom), and

Just because you are fighting bad guys, doesn't mean you are not one yourself.

If you carpet bomb a village to kill 50 "enemies" but also kill 50 civilians, are you bad or good?
Don't overthink these labels, trust your own judgement, but don't use it too hastily.

When Venom deserts Quiet, don't worry, I'm spoiling nothing of the MG's storyline.

it starts getting worse toward the end of chapter 1, starting when you get the first viral outbreak. The story goes off the rails after that and only five missions in chapter 2 are new

Yeah man, dicking around in a desert and taking care of Skull Face and some bugs is real cool stuff.

>MG's
mgs*

>Diamond Dogs stopped existing immediately after MGSV ended
Okay

What mission is the end of chapter 1?

Idk user. He seems to be REMEMBERING something memorial.

When it says "Chapter 2"

He's as much of a villain as any powerful man.

He went to extreme lengths to accomplish his goals, he became the kind of man he hated by the end of MGS3.

The villains in MGS are almost always people working behind the scenes pulling the strings, much like real life, in that sense MGSV handled his descent into villainy really well.

mission 31

That's the whole point. Solid Snake was the bad guy fighting against those wanting to destroy the Illuminati. It's just the freedom fighters had to do evil shit like threaten to nuke the world to get their point across. Ocelot even used Snake to destroy GW since it was obvious he would try and stop him.

Not him, but does it really matter? There will never be an MGS6 that shows what happens shortly after the events of MGSV.

No.

Is Peace Walker worth playing?

I have the HD collection for my Xbox, but after playing MGSV I really dont want to go through the grind of building motherbase and managing my soldiers again.

Literally nothing else noteworthy happens with them until Outer Heaven is created.

Yes but nobody around him was any better.

>a good sandbox game
>the world is basically empty and lifeless
MGS4 had a better set up for open world than this piece of shit did.

Peace happened. Diamond Dogs merged with outer heaven, Venom rid the world of nukes and solid killed Venom.

They literally do though. They get relocated to Outer Heaven.

I really enjoyed MGSV The phantom penis

What game would I enjoy just as much, and with an equally interesting story? Preferably in the MGSV series and not Morrowind graphics.

No it's not. The story and the gameplay are horseshit. Also going from MGSV the best looking, biggest and technical highest MGS with the best gameplay to the shittiest one with all its handheld limitations is just pure madness.

You own it, why don't you just try it?

MGS series*.

And then... nukes are back in MGS1 with no explanation as if they never left.

Just play MGS 1-4. If you care about graphics that much, then play Twin Snakes instead of 1 and then make sure you pick up the HD collection for 2 and 3.

6 years is a lot of time to restock nukes.

Nukes came back after the events of Metal Gear 2. Because.

Nah man don't get me wrong, I've played and enjoyed both Morrowind, Half life and Deus Ex.

I just find that good graphics, bulletholes, ragdolls and whatever add to my enjoyment alot.

Metal Gear 2 would be the second time that a small nation made itself the only nuclear power in the world. After that, the world probably decided deterrence was better than disarmament.

Well if you can get past the graphics, a lot of people would say MGS1 is better than Twin Snakes because Twin Snakes has different music, more over the top cutscenes, and is easier, but it's not that big of a deal imo.

>EVERY nuke in the would is being disarmed
>Zanzibar Land steaks nukes that are to be decommissioned
>Holds the world hostage
>"Oh shit, this was a bad idea."
>Nukes brought back out of storage

Quiet = Chico.

My dick is confus.

I dislike other dick though, but he looks like a woman. Most transfags look like gay men.

Man, you chicofags are pathetic. If you had any understanding of underlying narrative you would notice that Venom Snake has nothing but disdain for Quiet, she loves him but he doesn't love her back, her dying alone and heart broken was always part of his revenge plan.

>draft dodging

Because the Vietnam war was worth fighting, right?

Fucking idiot.

Few, if any, wars are actually worth fighting for.

Besides, a draft isn't meant to be a choice

Is... is that an argument for being drafted?

You draftfags are pathetic, if you had any understanding of underlying narrative you would notice that Venom Snake has nothing but disdain for Quiet, she loves him but he doesn't love her back, her dying alone and heart broken was always part of his revenge plan.

She was less than friendzoned by Venom.

>venom snake
>shoots people in the dick
>watches them bleed out
>not a villain

what.

ww2 was.

too bad the bad guys won-

This thread isn't about Venom Snake, it's about Big Boss
