Father Gascoigne was never hard, cut it with your meme posts
His last form was hard until you realize that dodging toward him when he jumps out of focus is best.
Or that playing aggressively in general is the way to go.
Does anyone even care anymore, just let Bloodborne go OP
He's the second hardest boss in the game. I hated him on ng+ too. He gets some stupid bullshit combos in when he goes beast.
he's one of the easiest bosses though
it's a good first boss
I dropped the game not long after beating this guy, but I think I learned about visceral attacks with that optional mob near the first lantern
I used the stairs to defeat him, because I'm not an idiot.
He was hard because there was too many trees and headstones cluttered around the area. Once I got a better idea of the layout and learned his animations better, he wasn't all that tough. Also helps you get used to the rally system.
10/10 okay first boss
>second hardest
not even close
i've never died to gascoigne but i've died to the DLC bosses more times than i care to admit
gascoigne can easily be killed by randomly dodging and spamming R1
But I beat him on my first try without any difficulty and didn't use an visceral attacks.
Can all of the bosses in BB be parried/visceral attacked?
I had trouble with him the first time but it wasn't until he was in beast form on my second try when I heard the ding sound that signals a visceral attack can be made that I learned you can crit his ass. It was easy from then on
>second hardest boss
>He gets some stupid bullshit combos in when he goes beast
I don't know, I co-oped every boss on my first playthrough
no
he was not hard that was just honeymoon phase of the new players
The bigger ones can be done, just not in the conventional manner.
t. Butthurt "master race" fag
I beat the game and didn't know about visceral attacks ;)
And it was easy compared to Dork Souls 1-2 and Demon's. The heal animation is too fast IMO.
I think that MH has ruined this series for me. I played DeS and DaS and thought they had some decent bosses and was overall satisfied with the level of difficulty. Then I played some MH for a few hundred hours before DaS2's release. DaS2, BB, and DaS3 were all super disappointing as they felt like jokes. Almost all of the bosses only took 1 or 2 tries to beat with the exception of Kos which took 4.
I had played all of the Souls games before this, and for whatever reason Gascoigne kicked my ass harder than anything else in the entire series. I came closer to quitting this game than I did Dark Souls when I couldn't beat O&S for like 5 days
He is a top tier boss in terms of enjoyment. Music works fucking perfectly.
I used the music box on him when he started to beast out. Hunters deserve fair fights. Feral beasts should be put down.
I think he's the prime example of how a first boss should be. I mean, he technically isn't that hard but he is a casual filter and weeds out anyone that doesn't try to learn one or two of the game's basic mechanics. You generally don't get past him unless you actually learn how to play the game.
I know I had a rough time at first, being an old time Dark Souls fan, but once I got rid of my old Dark Souls habits and embraced the new mechanic and style of the combat, he became a breeze.
The music played a huge part in making me so nervous fighting against him.

God damn it's just so fitting.
The big fat guys with bricks are the enemies that teach you about viscerals.
That's because Souls have Evasion +10
thats because DaS2 and DaS3 were shit
I only found it hard the first time because I stumbled into the boss on accident. When I came prepared I just run up the stairs and fell down. I'd just attack him on his way down, making the fight incredibly easy.
I still don't know how visceral attacks work
Beating him the first time I fought him was super fucking exciting. The fight is like a dance if you play aggressive and smart.
Almost everything can be parried except the large bosses, But large bosses that can't be parried can be put in a vulnerable state where they're open to visceral attacks by doing enough damage to their head
Same. Even if you're actively paranoid of walking into an arena, Cleric Beast and Gascan's arenas don't look like arenas at all. I got tricked by both of them when I started the game the first time but every other boss I knew was a boss
The first time I played I beat him on my second try with no guns or visceral attacks cause I didn't like the gun
I have no idea how I was that skillfull cause on my second playthrough now for the dlc and I struggled alot even with visceral attacks, shits embarrassing
i killed him on my first try. Never have done that again even though I've played through multiple multiple times.
Only hard part about the fight is trying to not get stuck on the graves when you're maneuvering around
And I beat most of the bosses on my first or second try, without preparing for them
Focus is everything in this game
that's why you fight him on the stairs
>yfw you get parried and visceral attacked by an enemy
You should have only one chance at fighting him
You die to him - you get 1st ending
You die to Moon Presence - 2nd ending
You kill them both - 3rd one
That's Gehrman, not Gazza.
He's so much easier on ng+ though, you're usually running a solid build at that point.
Is it possible to have a Blood/Arc build?
Gas Coin was hard the first time I played because I was still getting used to the combat, but on subsequent playthroughs he was a breeze.
oops, you are right :DD
He cant, it's all he has for his console
It's a shame we live in the timeline with achievements because that will never happen. Literally everybody would complain about the 2nd and 3rd ending trophies being impossible to get.
Most people don't get far enough to fight Gerhman so I fail to see how that would be a problem.
why does the conceit of BB make me tune in so fucking hard? god dammitfuckme. I can't enjoy DS as much because people dont go around saying "a hoonter must hoont." wtf is wrong with me
You seem awfully happy about something that is bad for you, anime girl.
I heard that Moon Presence was originally supposed to be a one-chance deal. He'd descend if you ate the chords but if you lost the fight, that was it. End of game, forced into NG+.
Which would have made the bossfight god tier
>that attack where he literally drains you to 1 HP and you're asked to mash attacks to regain your bar with rally
Can you imagine the tension that would cause when there's a whole fucking playthrough on the line?
...
Why do you want to give people anxiety attacks, user?
The player needs to be notified of this beforehand though, lots of people start out just to scout the boss.
>Father Gascoigne
>hard
I never had any problems with him desu.
He's always been a boss I'v walked right through
I'm on Ebrietas right now. Not really having fun with the boss fight. Also really low on blood vials so every few attempts I have to go run through Forbidden Woods a couple times and stock back up.
>yfw you get augury parried and unarmed visceral'd by micolash
That's what i'd think. I spent the first two or three hours of the game stuck on the first big group of enemies, but it forced me to learn to visceral. Then the rest of the game was stupid easy since nearly everything, including most bosses, could be visceralized.
I can't wait until Nier and some of these other games like RoboDinosaurHunterHorizon come out so people will stop this 1 game meme
>not farming mergo's loft
if you're not far enough to even go there then you should really leave ebrietas until later
nioh is coming soon
second demo this month
how was niohs multiplayer? Is it easy to join a mate
I'm about sl55 I think. Should I finish Yaharghul before coming back to Ebrietas?
Save the music box for when he transforms you nerds
I hate this timed demo nonsense. I never keep up with them. Are there any demos I should be aware of and playing right now?
I've played through Bloodborne at least 6 times and I don't think I've ever used the music box against him.
it's a demo/beta
they're taking feedback for the game
they already changed stuff after the first demo
Nah, man. That's not what a beta is. They do it for hype, and maybe to make calibrations, but it's nothing they weren't planning on doing anyway.
you are incorrect
did you even play the first beta
That's probably part of why it got changed. It's a neat gimmick but it gets in the way of some stuff.
I want there to be endings that are hard to reach.
Eh that's not entirely true. Pretty sure they intended on the durability system but scrapped it because people hated it
Why do you want people to have to have anxiety attacks to get an ending? Just make it more of a rare collectible thing that takes much time. Then no one but madmen will do it.
Hes challenging for first time players because hes incredibly aggressive compared to most souls bosses. Once you figure out how easy it is to parry all humanoid enemies however, he becomes a joke, just like all other humanoid enemies all the way through to Lady Maria
yeah ebrietas is hard as shit and there's an area coming up that will give you enough blood to buy 600 vials every 10 minutes, so just keep pushing and come back
>Why do you want people to have to have anxiety attacks to get an ending?
Because making the player feel things is good.
Feeling bad things is bad
He's one of the most aggressive bosses in the game. Even if you are aware of the existence of parrys and viscerals, learning the timing for them for each of his attacks is a steep difficutly jump.
Not saying is badly designed, but I think if you balanced the HP and damage of every boss to be tackled at the same point in the game, Gascoigne would be one of the harder fights
