Everyone in FE6 sucked
except Dieck,nigga was overpowered

Yeah Roy is pretty well off in comparison to a lot of the cast.

It's because he has t3h ph1re

Still hoping we'll get a remake of 6 and 7.

If we get child mechanics, having a Manakete Roy would hopefully make him suck less.

That's why I like Roy. He isn't overpowered as fuck. The best solution in any situation isn't "send in Roy". He's not like Marth, or Ike, or any of the FE7 lords, or the FE8 lords. He's flawed.

FE6 in general is flawed. It really could use some sort of remake, just to fix some of its bullshit.

He's more than "flawed". The entire middle third of the game is basically an exercise in babysitting roy due to the fact that he promotes so late, on top of being a mediocre unit.

>having 2 grandfathers

Fucking faggots.

I just hope this is bait.

>Needing stats when you got sick strats

...

I need to go back and watch that

Nobody played his game and he's only popular due to Melee nostalgia.

Unless we get buyable dragonstone, having Manakete Roy would only be good on paper. Remember Fae and her 30 use dragonstone. Also, late promotion.

Now, having Lilina with Lyn or Florina's speed growth however, is a fucking blast. Fuck, the mage twins would stomp the shit out of everyone if both of them got Nino's growth.

>Wolt with Becky's speed growth

PLS I NEED THIS

I played it like 2 years ago. FE6 was pretty fun but unit balance was fucking garbage and having to get all the legendary weapons to get the good ending sucked ass

T3H PH1R3!!!!!!!!!!

>Ninian is Roy's mother
Not canon.

Really puts into perspective how bad
Zeiss and Melody are alright. Two of my favorite units, actually

I'd like Roy if his promotion was at a reasonable time, or he had literally any way to contribute when others start to outclass him.
Leaf on the other hand is one of my favorites, because although he's not very strong, he can still be very useful with his light sword and supports.

>Raigh with Jaffar's skill and speed
This is a really good idea, but we'll probably get an FE9 remake first, or something

>Flawed
He goes way beyond that. He can't do jack and can steal exp from other worthy units. A reasonable strategy for the entire length of FE6 is to keep him in a corner and not have him do anything.

This
Leaf is the perfect example of a weak lord done right. He's able to pull his weight very well in the early game, especially during Manster and while he does promote quite late, he gets paragon, which helps him catch up quickly, not to mention the fantastic supports he gets

What's really amazing about Roy is how he manages to be THAT bland and boring.

Like, holy shit man. Nothing about him is interesting, not even backstory or setting. He has less personality to him than NES Marth and Alm.

>Sigurd
I almost feel like he should be on his own listing. Using him is just plain unfair, and that's just with a fucking silver sword.

If there were, say, Afa's Drops in FE6, they'd go straight to Roy, in most play throughs.

He will always be our boy

Yeah, he gets a lot of special benefits to him too. His sword is incredibly useful, the Leadership stars bonus to nearby units can help out, he fights every chapter despite every other unit having a Fatigue system that forces you to vary your team, and the game has a variety of scrolls to beef anyone up on their growths so he can even be made strong from early on if shown favoritism.

>Leaf
>weak

I dunno, he'd cap out his level too fast and then be an EXP void like he already is.

Welcome to die

Capping a few stats with the help of the crusader scrolls isn't an accomplishment in FE5

How would the child mechanic work? Something like PoR to RD save transfers?

>Becca's speed growth
>Sain's strength growth

Might as well remove all the non-children unit because they are all irrelevant now. unless you let them die early in the game.

But seriously, FE6/7 remake would be a mess with child system, because the amount of already existing non-children characters in the game (which some can be rewritten to FE7 unit's children at the cost of the quality of the writing), and some FE7 parents having extremely limited romance support, like Sue can only have 1 possible mother means her stats would be doomed if Rath doesn't marry Lyn(Which the supports can be expanded like how FE12 avatar can support almost every playable unit in the game, which of course at the expense of the quality of the support writing).

At least IS should make Roy and Lilina nameable at the end of FE7 remake section because both Eliwood and Hector request the name of their children to you.

Mark will obviously will be in there as playable because that's mandatory according to IS in their interview. FE6 part can be taken by Mark's child and have him and the mother joins in as prepromote unit.

And I bet IS would find a way to shove this cute lil bugger into FE7 part of the game for obligatory loli manakete character.

It would just barely help him not be garbage like he is currently. After a certain point, he becomes a liability, really.

It's not that bad desu, unless you've relied on nothing but mounted units so far.
>thieves and torches should give enough vision to see all the enemies in range.
>Roy can just walk to the throne at his own pace and still make it easily for the gaiden chapter

>Ike just good
>Eirika in bad
Way to invalidate any point you want to make, user.

It's because smash memers yelling OUR BOY every chance they get.
That's it.

>Ike outside of Top Tier

Motherfucker is too good for his own game. He can match up against Laguz royalty, for fuck's sake.

>at the cost of the quality of the writing
FE7's existence drains on the story of FE6 to begin with. Lyn is just sorta there in FE7 and maybe is implied to be related to Sue, if she marries Rath, Roy is canonically part dragon, but he still sucks, and Hector becoming a Lord makes Lilina seem more important than she is.Also, you can see Fa in the house on Living Legend

Nah, levels like the one where you recruit Echidna are the fucking worst. Completely random batches of reinforcements from house and doorways at random intervals are some real horseshit.

>you LITERALLY need a mounted unit to perfect this chapter
This map is actually unfair. Have fun with the 30 and 40% hits

>Lucina above Chrom
Lucinafags really have been on a high horse lately.

>Reinforcements in FE6 can move the turn they spawn

I forgot what nightmares were like
thank you

>I will never understand Roy's popularity.
smash bros.

>higher stats thanks to Awakening's bullshit genetics
>starts with Aether and another free skill immediately
You'd have to make a really compelling argument as to how any of the second gen units in Awakening are any worse than their parents.

I fucking hate child mechanics
It was fun when conversations just revealed more about the characters/world and gave stat boosts. Now having to make sure people don't talk to each other too much or else they shack up and give you weak kids just sucks the fun out of it.

How the fuck is she not better, even on a file where you're not abusing eugenics with grinding she has so much more potential thanks to having two skill lists from the start and higher base stats.

I always thought of Levin as a much more overpowered character than Sigurd. If Sigurd is unfair, then Levin is just plain cheating.

How about
>joins with reasonable bases and is probably promoted and close to getting Aether anyway by the time you get Lucina

>like Sue can only have 1 possible mother means her stats would be doomed if Rath doesn't marry Lyn(Which the supports can be expanded like how FE12 avatar can support almost every playable unit in the game, which of course at the expense of the quality of the support writing).
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if a remake of both happened and they took out all of the extra Lyn x Hector shit.

Levin's only weak point is that he doesn't have a horse when you have a game with large maps like 4.

>flawed
He has barely any personality OR importance on the plot, his "flaw" is that he sucks as a unit.

A shit character all around that barely register as a character.

Something like that or maybe just one game with a timeskip.

Is there any Fire Emblem character stronger than Morgan? And if there is, can they handle a Morgan paired up with their spouse?

Seth

...

Pretty much any paladin, but Seth is the most op of all

>Morgan just killed his mother
>He failed the coin flip
>A beautiful dame just asked him to fight for her
>He's on a losing streak in the arena
>His Killing Edge only has 2 uses left
>But he's really feeling lucky this time

GG no re

What about Seth (female)?

Never gonna get Greil's SWORD

>Seth can solo hundreds of soldiers and thousands of monsters, including Satan himself
>With a severe injury holding him back throughout the entire game
>While holding Eirika

Is there a badder motherfucker than Seth?

>It was fun when conversations just revealed more about the characters/world and gave stat boosts
Yeah, too bad you were limited to only a few conversations with every character, and not getting two characters to max support meant missing out on some character endings.

Is this myrmidon or sword master josh, cause those are too entirely different Joshuas

FE6 Karel

>That one reverse recruitment order romhack so you start with Karel instead of Roy
>Karel keeps his god tier growth rates for 38 level ups instead of 1

Look at this fucker. I can see why she was so sprung.

DID SOMEONE SAY OUR BOY?

Nigga was the best swordsman in Tellius. He had people that are strong as fuck like Zelgius suck his dick for his sword-skills and even Caineghis respected him.

Too bad we didn't actually get to use him or see him in his prime when he was supposedly invincible with a sword.

Fuck

Joshua only becomes a swordmaster after his mother dies fuck you it's canon

>Gaining 3+ in a stat for the first time

He starts with 1 and 0 in most stats and he still ends the game with everything maxed out
Why can't we get an entire game like that, with all the enemies being super-tough as well?

Goddamn it, with PoR's Artbook coming out recently, I want a PoR prequel with Greil and shit.

>Greil living in Daein as one of the Four Riders
>Greil's daily life of training with Zelgius and love life with Elena
>Greil and Elena running away from Daein up and living in Gallia

It would be sweet. If they're going to shit out remakes every gen like Pokemon maybe they'll be a PoR+RD remake.. Bet it'll be DLC though.

I would hope they can show everything he was doing while he was away from the Greil Mercs in PoR and maybe some monologue in his mind when he was dying slowly and before the war took place.

I wouldn't trust current ISIS with that stuff at all now, though it looks like they do have some of the PoR/RD team. It makes me wonder what happened to everyone else who worked on the series. Kaga's departure couldn't have taken THAT many people.

And his father.

What went so wrong?

I don't think so. IS is more likely to leave the scene in but add Tactician x Lyn scenes and Eliwood X Lyn scenes depending on her current support to balance them out, if we're looking how they remake FE3->12. Along with mechanic changes to make the game easier like how support works, support limit, Nils side chapter retarded requirement, reclass, casual mode, and other stuff.

>I will never understand Roy's popularity.
Remember, even for Japan, he appeared in Melee before his own game was out. There's a reason they just made up a new design for him in SSB4 using elements from his Awakening look, rather than just sticking with his original design.

Primarily, the fact that Normal was actually Hard. That really did a number to it, for me.

Otherwise, mechanically, fantastic.

It was more than just 1 scene user. They have a whole song together and other dialogue. I just see them taking out that stuff rather than try to match it.

Also Greil was hardcore as fuck. He intentionally severed the tendons in his dominant arm so he wouldn't have to kill again.

They either needed to cut the Dawn Brigade's chapters or add in a whole other 15 chapters overall. And in general it seems like they were rushing a bit for time on some things.

Not much really, the story has some dumb moments and there's issues with having a good number of shit units but mechanically it's some of the most robust the series has ever been, it's long as fuck, has great music, and when you know what you're doing you can create some crazy units or strategies without entering the ridiculous territory Awakening and Fates did

>IS Interview
Link?

True. It seems IS likes Ike enough to reference his fighting strength in Awakening and include his descendant Priam+specific battle dialogue with Ike.

I just hope we'll get a decent remake of GBA and Tellius games.

Ike was right. Greil wouldn't have lost against BK in Gallia if he wasn't traumatized with slaughtering everyone and his wife.

I might be mistaken but Endgame Ike in the Tower of Guidance was apparently as strong as Greil in his prime according to Zelgius after their duel.

>It seems IS likes Ike enough to reference his fighting strength in Awakening and include his descendant Priam+specific battle dialogue with Ike.
And honestly they couldn't even do that right. Ike's characterization and the whole thing with Priam has gone off the deep end.

Marth, Eliwood, Lyn, and Eirika aren't like that at all.

Just curious, but what's wrong with Ike characterization in Awakening? I don't remember much of the dlcs that he was included in but I'm sure he was still a pretty serious guy.

Priam was Ike's desire to fight personality multiplied several folds.

To be fair, you could park Ike on a defense tile, equip him with a Hammer and watch the Black Knight kill himself.

Gameplay wise you're right but Ike and Zelgius probably had a duel to the death with their respective swords in the story.

Ike's personality in the recent games is pretty much going toward's his Smash personality which seems extremely fight centric. While I'm expecting Smash to completely delve into his character, I would expect Ike's own IP to realize that him liking to fight wasn't all of his character. At points he seems to be going into "dumb jock" territory.
>Priam was Ike's desire to fight personality multiplied several folds.
Priam was a half-assed attempt at fan service.

kantopia.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/fire-emblem-if-famitsu-developer-interview-5132015/

>Also, the ability to customize a character as one likes has become a staple of the series, and so we thought to make “MyUnit” the main character this time.

Got the Reverse Recruitment romhack link?

Best girl

The only times I remember Ike and fighting/training was in RD when he was sparring with Mia in one of base conversations and the epilogue conversations with Caineghis about him wanting to fight him+regulated duels.

I don't like Ike's Smash persona influencing his portrayal in FE games too. I could even see his character in Fates being influenced by his smash moveset with Eruption, victory pose, being too fightsexual and stats. Though the amiibo does say Smash Bros on it so it's a given I guess.

>nostalgia
But I still have (and play) Melee, and I still play Roy and shit on tier whores

>Chrom and family are no slouches, being powerful physical fighters or mages, and their Lord line boasting a highly utilitarian skillset and growths, with a decent mix of offensive, supportive and defensive skills, including an Aether that works at range, unbreakable Falchions and a shitton of wyvern riders to use them on, even in early game, descended from Marth and a vague implication of also being a descendant of Sigurd & Seliph
>Marths get the unique Lodestar class, being able to use rapiers, and several different flavors having excellent support or offensive skills
>Alm gets to be the flagship Dread Fighter and even brings along Sol from the Hero line
>Eirika gets to be the flagship Bride
>Ephraim gets either Conquest or Rightful King as well as a decent array of pair up skills suiting a high mobility mounted unit
>Lyn gets stuff from the Fighter and Trickster line, increasing her crit and mobility
>Seliph gets Galeforce and is also a Swordmaster
>Katarina and Micaiah both get an array of Rally Skills and Shadowgift
>Leif is some strange blend of the priest and thief lines
>Eliwood and Hector who only have Spotpass Legacy versions both have their signature weapon Faire skills, with Hector additionally having an extremely high Strength modifier and being in a class with the highest strength cap in Awakening
>Ike naturally gets to be one of the rare non-Chrom & daughter units that comes with Awakening's buffed up Aether, as well as a high skill cap to be in the ballpark of Chrom's RK-level activation rate

Then...

>Roy's Awakening versions are mercenaries that get Aegis from his dad and his eponymous weapon is shit

not*
PoR Ike at the core was a man who while like generally liking his mercenary life, was pretty much thrown into the role of leadership when his father met an early death. PoR is pretty much his journey of dealing with being first in command of a group of mercenaries up to leading a whole army against a foreign nation.

RD Ike is him after 3 years of being able to get used to this idea, but then he has the added issue of having to again lead an army but also deal with the Judgement of the world's creator Goddess along with more issues of the racism between the Laguz and the Beorc.

All I'm saying is that there is more to him than just MUH FIGHT and MUH MEAT and I swear the more time he pops up out side of 9/10 the more it's getting glossed over.

watch what? share

serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=24402

>Ike naturally gets to be one of the rare non-Chrom & daughter units that comes with Awakening's buffed up Aether, as well as a high skill cap to be in the ballpark of Chrom's RK-level activation rate

It would've been fun with Awakening's high stat caps and PoR's Aether proc %.

>All I'm saying is that there is more to him than just MUH FIGHT and MUH MEAT and I swear the more time he pops up out side of 9/10 the more it's getting glossed over.

There is. I don't think his fighting obsession thing was actually a thing till Awakening introduced Priam and Ike's legend referring him as an "unparalled warrior" on a extremely hyped-up proportions that played a role in his later appearance in the series. I partly blame Smash for that.

Also, wasn't Ike's main reason for joining the war in RD was because he was pissed at Begnion for hiding the truth of the Serenes massacre and the Apostle assassination? He even put off his search of BK for his Laguz pals. Ike definitely was more than just brute who only cared about fighting.

I thought about how they might have done that due to him not really carrying context outside of his own game, so he couldn't really talk about pressure of leadership and his experiences since those events would be in Awakening or Fates - however, other characters in Awakening and Fates do reference their past and hardships they faced. So, yeah, now that you mention it the way they handle Ike is kind of odd.
