Honestly I feel that it's kind of amazing. Might be the best-written Sonic game, and the battle system is fun. Sega should have explored this kind of gameplay further rather than continuing to fail to bring Sonic's speed into a 3D environment.

10/10 amazing best fighting game ever
I loved that Chaos was a playable character despite doing jack shit nothing in terms of the story. Literally shows up as a training battle and Tails is like "So Chaos showed up again, it usually shows up in times of emergencies".

It's shallow and the blocking should be continuous. The only thing worth doing is spamming specials since the story AI starts getting a ridiculous handicap by Rouge's campaign.
Still, Emerl's fun enough to save it.

yes but you don't need to do that fight if you didn't get a rare
i'm not really sure it counts as a tip, i mean, rare cards are pure RNG, completely independent of who you're fighting or how many you're fighting, and Knuckles' 1KO fight is the shortest fight in the entire game
i wouldn't think it wasn't fairly obvious

Before understanding how to use the internet, I though if you completed a match without dieing or without getting hurt in a match you haven't done before, you are guaranteed to get a rare card.
I always felt I got one after doing that. It was only till like 6 years later I find it's confirmed to be purely RNG.

oh yeah, you're absolutely right, you can forfeit the second fight and go back to the overworld and do knuckles's fight again, so you don't have to do the shitty Rouge Casino every time you get a rare
