The only playable 3d Sonic game is Colors, and this is not saying much

Big the Cat is a cat that lives in a hut within a forest. He also lives with his best friend and pet, Froggy. Big first appears in Sonic Adventure along with Froggy. He is also friends with Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Amy Rose, and Cream the Rabbit. He has become really close with Amy and Cream, and they form a team called Team Rose. Within The group, he is the Power-type character as he is the physically strongest character. He also has powers which are Super Strength and Frog Calling. He is extremely skilled in Fishing and is the only known character that fishes. He is 20 years old.

>Sonic Adventure is a decent game

When will this meme end?

Sonic adventure is still the best 3D sonic game

>Colours
>3D

SA1 is a janky, kinda misguided piece of shit but I can still have fun with it.
SA2 is just joyless. From the watered down Sonic stages. To the shittier side gameplay stages that are much longer and mandatory for unlocking more Sonic stages. The music is also a step down and no amount of memes and post-ironic community singing can change that.
I wouldn't really recommend either honestly.

Best song coming though

>defending Sonic Adventure

They were the Bane of the Sonic franchise.
Sega needs to stay as far as possible from the Adventure games for Sonic to become a respectable franchise/mascot again.

There's something called a "good argument" and a "bad argument." You can hate flawed things for bullshit reasons, but you'll look like a fucking moron for not knowing the real reasons it's flawed.

>no argument

Cringe inducing, just like everything else that has something to do with Sonic.

Christ, I'm glad I didn't grow up on mediocre shit like this.

Jesus this game is broken. How did people play this trash?

>right hand under left leg

nice pose sanic

>explains what he sees

nice commentary user

>clipping through the loop
That only happens when you purposely press yourself against the wall next to you. I know that it should't even there in the first place, but jesus christ, it pissed me really off when he did it over and over again.

It also happens when you use the Spin Dash

>I know that it should't even there in the first place, but jesus christ, it pissed me really off when he did it over and over again.
I'd try it again just to see if it was a random glitch or not. I think it's worse that it's actually a hole in geometry.

>Story
The story in both games were complete ass and started an awful trend of Sonic games trying to have a dark and complicated story. They aren't really worth discussing beyond that.

>gameplay
It's pretty glitchy no matter how you play it or what you play it on, but it's almost never gamebreaking like the shit in Sonic 06 was. Some of the exploits are even fun (glitching Tails into Emerald Coast comes to mind). The camera is asscheeks, but that's par for the course for both early 3D games and 3D Sonic games.

The actual gameplay was more varied in 1 and streamlined in 2. Complete shit (Big and Amy) and redundant (Tails) character playstyles from SA1 were cut entirely from 2. What remained from 1 (Sonic -> Sonic/Shadow, Gamma -> Eggman/Tails, Knuckles -> Knuckles/Rouge) generally plays worse. The shooting levels are bogged down by a much slower character and the lack of reversed timer removes the sense of urgency Gamma's levels supplied. The hunting levels have a markedly worse radar and all of the levels besides each characters' first and Pumpkin Hill suck ass. The Sonic levels are more or less the same, with the good changes (streamlined light dash, grinding, somersaults, no Sky Deck) evening out the bad (gimped spin dash, less fun level designs, Pyramid Cave).

Obviously, the real draw nowadays is the Chao Garden and until a new one is made, SA2B's (especially if you have a GBA and the Advance games) is the definitive experience. Other minigames (namely karts) in both games suck. Avoid it when possible.

>music
Honestly the best part of the games. 1 has a better and more varied overall soundtrack (it honestly may be the best in the entire series) but both are really great.

Overall, everything besides the music has aged horribly and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who didn't play them as a child and doesn't have a pre-installed pair of nostalgia goggles like I do. I still go back and play them every so often. Please send help.

Both lacked the level design and physics that made Sonic good. They're okay at best.

>and physics
To Sonic Adventure 1 and 2's credit, they did have actual physics. Not as good as the classic games, but I commend them for actually trying unlike later Sonic games which don't try at all to bring the Genesis gameplay to 3D.
