Nah, it ended after 2.
After 3, I hope not.
This. If they try and make another Dead Space game it'll probably be more action-orientated and devoid of horror than DS3.
Just about the only thing that game did right was weapon customisation.
>implying the DS series wasn't always action orientated
I believe that when it came to making a third game in DS, the horror just washes away. It just becomes "oh look a necromorph jumped out of a vent again" or "a suppose dead necromorph is not dead and jumped at me again"
You have only yourself to blame. You didn't buy Hardline and its Premium.
>tfw no dead space gf (male)
I'm still mad about Dead Space 3. I will always be mad about it. I fucking hate EA, and refuse to buy any of their games because of this, ever since.
Why though? I mean what is with all the hate? I really want to read a what people think what made DS3 such a horrible game everyone seems to make it out to be.
I hope not.
I hope not. Soon it will become about killing evil racist conservative Christians and fighting for trans rights. Because, you know, EA.
Dead Space has never ever been spooky.
They openly held it hostage. They also gutted it in every way possible.
>held hostage
elaborate please
>gutted
How exactly?
user, why are you so angry?
;_;
Dead Space 3 is honestly a great game. Fuck the haters, it's not as scary as the first or second games, but hell, it did Co-op right. And it had the most varied atmopsheres and environments. The first bit of the game goes back to the first games roots on abandoned ships. The snow planet is a tribute to John Carpenters: The Thing, which clearly helped inspire Dead Space. The only issues and complaints for 3 I keep hearing are nitpicky at best, being the forced love triangle between Clarke, Ellie, and Norton. That and it's more action orientated, but so was the first game, and the second one too. YES the first game had action, not a lot, but what made 1 so scary was the setting, that's really it.
They claimed that if it doesn't sell 5million copies, they're not making another dead space.

What for? The more a franchise is milked the bigger piece of shit it becomes. Also explaining things too much actually ruins horror because a huge part of it is mystery.
...
Another issue with 3 I keep hearing too is that it's too different from the first two games. People just want the space ship/station setting having a necromorph outbreak. Dead Space 3 breaks that mold by making Isaac go and fight the Necromorph thread right at it's source. I feel like it's a nice tie up for the series because it shows Isaac's growth as a character, he finally mans up, he's not scared anymore and takes action to try and stop the terror once and for all.
I can see why people didn't like that part of DS3 tho, however, it also helped show that marker threat isn't just a problem for humanity, but the whole galaxy with the aliens on Tau Volantis.
this for me. i really enjoyed everything about DS3 except the romance aspect of the storyline. probably my favourite duo co-op game. is there anything similar to this co-op wise - i guess like borderlands as well?
Cont'd from this
The marker and necromorph threat being spread throughout the galaxy as evident in Dead Space 3 also adds to the overall horror and dread the series has imo, why? Cosmic horror bitches. Same thing goes for the Necro Moons and that's what makes them so scary. Just people losing their minds to the markers influence only to build more markers and help spread the necromorph contagion, which will inevitably wipe out their own species. Dead Space isn't scary because of le space zombies, no no no. It's scary because of all the things it has going for it, being Necromorphs, hallucinations caused by the markers, a dwindling humanity, etc.
Thank you. I don't know about co-op games like DS3. Especially considering I never played the co-op in DS3 myself, however I do know how it changes up the dialogue and play sessions which is absolutely fantastic, because instead of just playing with a friend, you also get a different experience than if you'd play by yourself. Something more co-op games should do imo.
To answer OP's question, I honestly think we will get a new Dead Space. Why? Visceral and EA have hinted at it before. Source here : cinemablend.com
DS1 to 3 is a big genre shift from horror to action.
DS1: Clearly a horror game. You're walking around alone 99% of the time fighting horrible monsters you've never seen before. They're loud, bust out of the walls, scream at you, transform out of corpses, play dead (all scripted). It's a great horror game through tension and atmosphere.
DS2: A lot of the same, with more lean towards action. There's QTE added, action movie scenes, lots more dialogue so you feel less alone through most of it. Isaac talks now and there's very often times you're around others indirectly. This is where the series should have ended, it struck a balance between horror and action understandably.
DS3: A shooting game in the Dead Space world. All action, no tension any more, human enemies, cover firing etc. It's not badly made, but it has no place as a sequel to a previously-horror game.
it was for normies
I hope not, I would've been fine with it ending with 2 even though none of shit surrounding the markers actually gets resolved, but at least Isaac got his shit together and has a happy ending where he gets the grill
So you are saying a progression of the story and its characters is not a good thing? I can only assume you also hate the Evil Dead series because it was turned from a b rate horror flick to an action comedy.
In my opinion a nobody average Joe like Isaac gets sucked up into the conspiracy and mystery like he did in 1st game you would expect him to be spat out as an expert most wanted man by the Unitologists and Earth Gov in Dead Space 3.
Evil Dead is trash, fanboy
They should have progressed the story and kept the same genre.
Than it would have been stale.
Nah, Dead Space 3 DLC pretty much confirmed that everyone's fucking dead.
