EDF sold more on PC in a month than PS4 in over a year

>EDF sold more on PC in a month than PS4 in over a year

Does that mean Japanese publishers will finally get a clue and put their games on PC?

...

It means pcgamers buy the shit console players didnt want.
See: Dragons Dogma, Neptunia.

its funny because that was released around the same time as EDF 4.1 PC for the same price

maybe it flopped because it was shit and not worth the asking price

Trophy data shows about 85k people have uploaded EDF4.1 data though.

People tend to buy actual games.

Artsy shit deserves to be pirated.

Not so fast with that fake shit.

HOW COULD THIS BE? PORTS ARE ALWAYS TOP CLASS. AND ALL CONSOLE GAMES ARE AMAZING!

Yes thats why Goat Simulator is top seller on PC :^)

now the game is at 22k sold nigger.
its almost like people don't want to drop 40 dollarydoos on a game they've never even heard of

Thats why everyone should use denuvo, this shit infuriates me

>Trophy data

you mean people who made multiple accounts farm for items on splitscreen or just played it at their friends house?

the difference is that edf is a good game

Gag gifts and novelty also tend to sell well.

And that shit and the fucking tower were a meme for at least a month...

>Earth Defense Force

Not a single fuck was given.

If only xseed would release modding tools and not make their file structures so fucking shit that I can't rip the root1.cpk file because of an "out of bounds" error.

>Does that mean Japanese publishers will finally get a clue and put their games on PC?
no. this has been happening with so many games for years now. it's very clear that the pc is a valid market and in some genres even offers a stronger market but no matter how many times this is proven jap devs will never treat pc as more than an afterthought. at least we're getting scraps these days.

It sole comparable with Vita and PS
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Setsuna#Reception

Why would they upload trophy data with their throwaway 2nd accounts?

So only Denuvo makes money? TOP KEK

>50k is good when modern game cost make it to where they won't even break even

Why haven't Japenese Devs made a mass shift to PC games? I feel like for the most part, eastern games arent all that popular in the west among console users. Meanwhile the PC market probably has more dedicated gamers who aren't afraid of playing some anime game as long as it isn't shit.

doesn't PSN auto upload trophy data when you're online?

...

Yeah, I tried to like those games but they are pure shit, I don't understand Sup Forums's hype for the series.

No.

Far more importantly is the fact that it will continue to receive sales after the ps4 has died.

EDF games are cheap to produce, they were originally released in a PS2 budget game line.

Next EDF will still be on a Sony platform.

then what the fuck did I select on PS3 for it to upload my trophy info to everybody?

PS3 ain't PS4.

It's terrible, yet mindlessly fun.

It's completely hit or miss, but if you hit you can't quit. 351 hours on PC alone.

but why would it stop trophy info getting uploaded by default unless you go out of your way to turn if off?

danganronpa 1 definitely sold more than half a million world wide. it's very popular in japan.

To be frand Toukiden and SK are both really bad games.

Danganronpa is ok.

TO SAVE OUR MOTHER EARTH

FROM ANY ALIEN ATTACK

At the price it is sold (60€), I guarantee you that Toukiden was very profitable for Tecmo Koei.

FROM VICIOUS GIANT INSECTS WHO HAVE ONCE AGAIN COME BACK

Thing is I bought and had a blast with the first X360 EDF, I think it was EDF 2017 but every game after that has not impressed me, they feel like DLC for 2017, I know they improved the game but it doesn't look or feel like it.

>Dragons Dogma
>shit
That game was great, fuck you. It's like Shadow of the Colossus , Monster Hunter, and Titan Quest had an orgy baby. You're right about Neptunia though.

PCfats have shit taste so don't say your but they are bad meme

We'll unleash all our forces
We won't cut them any slack.

WE'LL UNLEASH ALL OUR FOCES WE WON'T CUT THEM ANY SLACK

THE EDF DEPLOYS!!!

It's uploaded automatically with PSPLUS

its only like those games in the most shallow, surface level ways.

>japanese
>changing their tactics based on what's effective
you don't understand Asian lack of creativity.

OUR FORCES HAVE NOW DWINDLED AND WE PULL BACK TO REGROUP!

You skipped a verse recruit.

OUR SOLDIERS ARE PREPARED FOR ANY ALIEN THREATS

>Dragon's Dogma
>Shit
What horrible taste you have my friend good to know that your opinion is invalid at least.

>vgchartz
None of those games sold more than 10K copies on your shitty Vita.

>this mad and delusion

The navy launches ships
The airfoce sends its jets.

It was a medicore and boring game

The only delusional retard is you. Why do you think SE shit on you? Because they know Setsuna would have sold less than 10K copies on your dead handheld. DEAL WITH IT.

AND NOTHING CAN WITHSTAND OUR FIXED BAYONETS

THE EDF DEPLOYS!

LEGIT QUESTION
Isn't that a "walking simulator"
(as in nothing to do but walk and talk, some sort of 3d visual novel)?

>He posted vgcharts unironically

No. Why the fuck would you think that?

That's Japan only

It is a decent JRPG. Will buy on a sale. Don't think it is worth 40 dollars at the moment. Especially when games like TiTS exist.

How the fuck do you gear up Fencer for missions besides Spear + Shield for one pair of slots?
Nothing seems very effective for just about anything, especially on higher difficulties.

It's pretty much Blasthole dashing for everything.

Can I get some facts to back that up?

Does EDF really sell that poorly?

Relatively unknown indie titles have no problems hitting sales in the 20-50k range on PC, i'm surprised that a franchise as well established as EDF isn't doing considerably better.

Honestly if they halved the price point I think they'd see a considerable boost in sales, a four pack for under $100 would sell amazingly.

It's good mindless fun, especially with friends, but $50 is where you start competing with big budget AAA titles.

youtube.com/watch?v=j34WccFQPvY
youtube.com/watch?v=wZHyER-QgbQ

At $50? EDF is a relative unknown and has always been a bit of a niche title.
A random $7-15 indie game is much more likely to be impulse bought.

>Movie people don't like games
>Unfunny movie people to boot
Well color me surprised

>expecting people to watch 25 minutes of some some barely articulate cucks because you can't form your own opinions on things

>2 random fags have the sole decision on whether other people enjoy a game
Ok

That line is always sung so awkwardly.
Also it doesn't make much sense.

I think that is kind of the point.

retard

I dont even like DD that much, but come on.

It's a patter song. The rythm is more important than the lyrics, as these are used for marching and morale.

Bayonets are an infantry thing. Even today, most combat knives can be attached to their rifles to turn it into an emergency spear.

Toukinden and SK may be shit games, but at least they are games.

nice "proof" faggot

I know what a bayonet is.

And I mean the rhythm feels awkward, wouldn't it make more sense to stretch the word out?

EEEEE
DEEEE
EFFFF

>Rich Evans the loveable casual and AidsMoby

youtube.com/watch?v=vsfKGe0ZtH8

I don't know, sounds like they stretched it out just fine

Which part?

The actual word is 'affixed' which might be part of the awkwardness.

Is this game worth $50?

>additional profits
>it is somewhat bad things
You guys need to actually try to run a business once in a while. 10% sales increase is 10% sales increase which is better than 0% sales increase. baka desu senpai.

No. Not unless you truly believe that you will get replay value from play 100 missions 4 times as different classes.

It is a fun game though but yuor mileage will vary. Acquire it and see if you like it. I did and I ended up buying it because I thought it was good fun but I bought it when it was at $35.

But wasn't it a psp game originally?
That's only the shita version

Spike Chunsoft confirmed the ports of Danganronpa were a success. Also that's old.
Danganronpa 1 PC sales are now at 64,000

Danganronpa is a game
It has gameplay

Long-time problem of Japanese devs has always been their focus on Japanese audience even though it's a minority compared to worldwide sales. They're only now realizing PC gaming exists outside of Japan where it's pretty much dead beyond H-games. There's also a very real possibility Japanese devs simply don't KNOW how to port shit to PC because that demographic was simply non-existent in Japan. They lack people capable of doing ports.

Yeah, pressing a button to read the next dialogue line is very mechanical and demanding form of gameplay.

I dunno just doesn't sit right with me.
>20 seconds of not the fucking song
Why

Fixed is the word I take issue with.

>JRPG
>PC
>no marketing

Gee, I wonder.

Sales numbers mean nothing in terms of actual profit unless we know how much the game and port itself cost.

Sup Forums posts those guys all the time. Anything they say is true. Just like how Sup Forums posted their Uncharted video to prove it's not a game. Dragon's Dogma is generic bullshit with little difficulty.

>Sup Forums is one person
How cute

This is the first game I bought after pirating, I played 40 hours on a pirated copy before realising the game is great and deserves my money, I am now grinding it all back and I don't care one bit because its fun.

Don't talk about video games you don't know anything about.
youtube.com/watch?v=R34GK3D9RaI
4:05 onwards

>pressing a button to see a flashy animation
>pressing a button to read a compelling story

I don't see a problem.

All of the Stalker series was made on like $1M. Not every studio is American/Euro AAA tripe.

>no marketing

They announced it at E3
