>I stopped watching Zero Punctuation
as did everyone else

His entire shtick is pretending to not like things

sounds like this place

They're not reviews. Don't treat them as such. But the gimmick gets boring anyway so whatever.

why are you on Sup Forums then

unless it's about something busted in a multiplayer game I've literally never seen good gameplay discussion here

Just like Sup Forums!

but Sup Forums is not pretending

>Let's Drown Out will finish at the end of august because Yahtzee's leaving Australia (finally) to go to America to be with his American girlfriend

aww

im just in for when he says poo

Every review'he does is a series of skits where he overly simplifies or over exaggerates important features or tiny issues a game has. Every critique and praise is a random series of adjectives that literally gives you no more information past "he doesn't like it."

Little kids are more descriptive of why they feel the way they do about things.

eyyo boss

What's your favorite video from him? Mine is Sonic Unleashed

>pretending

>yahtzee plans to live stream once he moves to the states

ah yes

B-but it's not because of girlfriend, it's totally not because of her, Yahtzee is just so great that there are huge job opportunities waiting for him in San Francisco, and once he'll get there he'll make it real big.
Can't wait for him to get dumped and go into another self-hatred spiral about his only valuable skill being comedy while his games and books are shit that nobody cares about.

I can't wait for his review of the Sims 5.

For ten minutes until everyone tells him how shit he is at games and then close his channel.

I love listening about his hatred of America, women, kids, and Nintendo every single episode, even when the games have/are related to none of those things.

What else can he talk about? How tutorial was too hard for him to pass?

Resident Evil 5 and the Smash review response response vid

Smash TV.

ah yes

I stopped watching Zero Punctuation 6 years ago when I realized his schtick gets old after 2 videos and his opinions and criticisms aren't really all that good

Even as a 16-year-old I realized he wasn't that great

How do people still enjoy him today

Everyone has known for years that ZP isn't for reviews. It's for entertainment.
It's not necessarily bad on purpose, but the intent isn't to be thorough or objective. It's funny, which is why people watch it. There's nothing wrong with that.

>he hates demon's souls
>dark souls gets popular
>wtf I love the series now

I stopped watching Yahtzee when I saw his god awful Demon's Souls video. He couldn't even get past level 1-2 and he never learned to upgrade his stats.

>that maximum sperging out
It's like Yahtzee doesn't have a concept of people having different mindset. Everything has to be exactly as he understands it or you are dumb wrong and crazy.

You should watch him playing Dark souls 2. It's amazing how shit he is at it despite claiming to have played through it a bunch of times.

Everyone on Sup Forums loved him when he first started on escapist but it got old fairly quickly. It was very refreshing at the time. Much like SA, he's a has been.

>after taking some time to get into it, he got into it
>oh noes, people opinion change over time

He got into it by watching let's plays because h himself couldn't get past Taurus demon.

I don't mind that he replayed it and had a change of heart, that's fine. What really annoys me though is turned into a turbo pseudohardcore faggot after it.

>oh yeah no I super love hardcore games I'm a hardcore gamer I like hard games me I do, always loved them, like DARK SOULS the most hardest game ever and I beat it I'm so great

He likes some things, though

That's the easiest souls, too.

Your fault for making a comedy act into a serious review.

Yeah he liked Spec Ops: The Line, Undertale, Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, and Dark Souls.

Of those maybe 1 is good.

>it's another "cynical britbong who likes the sound of his own voice" episode

LDO>>>>>>>>>>>>ZP

I'd say Bloodborne is the easiest.

Admittedly, I hated DeS and DaS1 the first time I played them. It took like 4-5 tries before I got hooked.

LDO is the best white noise to put on the background when you're doing something repetitive. God forbid you look at the video though, because their gaming skills are cringe-inducingly bad, no matter what the game.

I politely disagree, friend.

I found II to be really, really easy. Not one boss really gave me any trouble in the base game. The DLC introduces some heavy hitters but I never got stuck on anything in II. A few of the bosses I just used a bow/fire arrows on and kept rolling and had no issue.

I still greatly enjoyed II.

I hate his voice

Darklurker was definitely one of the hardest bosses in the whole series and that's not even DLC. And DLC does add some really hard fights like 2cat, Alonne, Fume and while not exactly a fair thing, ganksquad. In Bloodborne only boss that took me more than two attempts on my first run was Orphan of Kos.

2cat is bullshit. All of DS2 is bullshit.

He's a liberal. I don't want him over here spewing ignorant shit.

I stopped watching Zero Punctuation when I found out he doesn't actually talk fast from practising his scripts, he just cuts out the gaps in speech using his video editing software.

I like Zero Punctuation but for every game he makes a video about that I find interesting he makes two more videos about games I can't be bothered to give a shit about.

Except that's wrong, since he has had reviews where he liked the game, like Infamous, Portal, DOOM, Mario Galaxy, Luigi's Mansion 2, H.A.W.X, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Witcher 3, off the top of my head.

I stopped watching him when he couldn't kill a great jaggi

Where else to spew it other than the world's capital of blind liberalism?

>people actually take Yahtzee seriously
You guys think your so clever pointing out he dislikes a lot of things like he's supposed to be a professional reviewer, when he isn't. He gets paid to do this shit. He's got a shit tone of videos that are stil consistently funny, and now he pisses of brexit voters, so it's all good.

youtu.be/E-NnOYuv30I?list=PLkkiai4nXBVIh2RQjHVwwMMmDRZCeRSUH&t=927

>He gets paid to do this shit.
so do ''professional'' game reviewers too, you know.

he even said that his reviews are genuinely what he thinks of the games in question and that people claiming that they're not serious are just fanboys who want to discard the mean words he said about their precious game.

his entire schtick is PIP-PIP DEADPAN BRITISH MAN

Just remotely funny enough to get 13 year olds to watch his channel

>there are huge job opportunities
>San Francisco

The gay porn industry?

Possibly, though I'm no sure his boyfriend would approve.

Nah, I still like it.

I can take Yahtzee in small doses. But I honestly use him for background noise a lot.

Every review is
>Simile
>Analogy
>Analogy
>Analogy
>Analogy
>Metaphor
>Theme song

The Chzo Mythos adventure games were pretty good. Trilby's Notes and 5 Days in particular were great.

He got me to check out Silent Hill, Psychonauts, and Gravity Rush.

For that I'm appreciative.

Nah, they were shit. Completely linear with pigeonhole approach to progress and retarded story. Also I just wanted to go into space.

I liked Mogworld.

What, the games widely popular among vidya enthusiasts including majority of Sup Forums? What a coincidence.

>needing him for any of those
Fucking hell

also Gravity Rush is so underwhelming I don't get what people see in it. Maybe the concept has potential that the sequel will actually capitalize on but the original is just not very good

How does that counter the argument exactly?

I stopped watching ZP when I realized he wasn't funny anymore.

That was the only reason to watch his videos in the first place. Not like I trust him for "reviewing"

>Gravity Rush
>Widely popular
Pretty sure his review was for the Vita version too.

It's like less intelligent version of Discworld set in a video game.

How is that wrong though? Everything he said is true. The whole numerical score system is broken anyway, people just gotta accept that an opinion is just as valid.

>completely linear
Have you never played an adventure game in your life?

>retarded story
The overall lore went off the deep end with the fourth game but the first three were pretty alright.

It was the first (notable) exclusive Vita had.

>Also I just wanted to go into space.
Abrupt ending twist aside, Seven Days a Skeptic was probably my favorite game of his.

I liked the paranoid atmosphere of being trapped with several people and an unknown assailant in the dead of space.

It's that one mission where you have to go to the bottom of the world.
It's such a sudden shift in the tone of the game and it's fucking great. There's just those points in a game that spike people's favorability of it. Like Psychonaughts fish missions.

think you gotta read posts more carefully before you reply.

Have you been to Sup Forums? Even before the PS4 version came out it was one of the beloved gems constantly brought up in lesser known games discussions and Vita threads. And his review was very much of a PS4 version as he says from the very start of the video that he never played the Vita one because it's stupid to own a Vita.

i used to love ZP but im sick of his tired samey bullshit now
judging by the cover is the best thing he's ever made though

I think you should suck my dick

The ego review was only worth watching because deep down his autism and closet homosexuality was lashing out in terror, and it was glorious to witness as it happened. I tried giving him and his fat retard friend a couple tries after that series wrapped up. Nah, too much self serving going on there.

>Gravity Rush
The combat and overworld were fairly simple, but there was something about the balance between the lighthearted exploration of the first half and the otherworldly metaphysical odyssey of the latter half that resonated with me.

It wasn't perfect but there was a genuine charm and creativity to it. Still hoping the sequel improves on things though.

>Have you never played an adventure game in your life?
Yes, quite a lot, and many of them had multiple ways of solving puzzles and wide array of actions and items to select. His games have exactly one thing to do at each time and trying to do anything else just results in a text box saying it's pointless, that's handholding of modern AAA-tier.

He's had some good points and I do like several of his reviews but you are right in the sense that he's not being analytical enough. He often looks at the superfluous and surface aspects of a game, like character creation/customization and a world's setting, and rarely goes into depth on level design or pacing in a game's progression.

He also has some pretty bullshit moments. He absolutely rails hard on Demon's Souls as an absolutely awful game (he couldn't even make it to the Tower Knight), but this was before the Souls games were getting popular. Then he absolutely praises Dark Souls when it came out without even so much as giving Demon's Souls a mention. That's really fucking shitty of him.

He's ok overall and I have to give him credit for being able to do this shit on a weekly basis consistently for years but that doesn't make him a better reviewer. I do find it funny, though, that The Escapist is completely dependent on him. Even Critical Miss, which is probably their big number two, could go but without Zero Punctuation that website would be nothing. It's crazy how solid of a position that fucking guy has managed to land himself in.

Fucking Rob Blanc was a window into a very warped and scared young mind.
>two complete strangers walk into elevator
>main character is afraid the other guy wants to rape him

Oh are we being contrarian now and hate Yahtzee?

y-yeah fuck that guy!

you remember those threads where people would fill a template that was about each month's best game?

Gravity Rush was in most of them.

People wonder why he had a lock on the inside of his bedroom door, doesn't talk to his family, fucked off to another hemisphere, and is still the same closeted weird mother fucker with several financial failings. Yet his ego remains intact.

people have piled on his ass since his smash bros and monster hunter reviews

>...like he's supposed to be a professional reviewer, when he isn't. He get paid to do this shit.

And this year's award for most rapidly self-contradicting argument goes to...

>Then he absolutely praises Dark Souls when it came out without even so much as giving Demon's Souls a mention. That's really fucking shitty of him.
To be fair, it took him quite a while longer to get around to reviewing Dark Souls, because he had a limited time to play it and got the same initial reaction that he had of Demon's Souls.

It was only when he had some spare time to actually chip away at it that he gave it a more fleshed out review.

>contrarian
>hate Yahtzee
what.

Sup Forums has hated him for years, if anything it's contrarian to like him around here.

People will never stop complaining about him after the Monster Hunter review.

>not being allowed to have an opinion
You're just as bad as the Nintendo fanboys that Yahtzee hates so much.
I remember a video when he went off on a bunch of comments about his Smash Bros Brawl review. That was a pretty good video.

Wow all the games Sup Forums likes.

>It was only when he had some spare time to actually chip away at it
More like when he had spare time to watch people with working hands play it, so he could appreciate all the 2deep4you narrative.

That's kind of like saying Fallout 4 was one of the best games of the year because 2015 was just that bad.

I only like to hear him talk about games I have absolutely no interest in/ones I really want to see get torn apart

Speaking of a little of both, I hope he does No Man's Sky next

I stopped watching ZP when i started watching Ashens

Dark Souls 1 came out on PC that year.

It's funny that he has a reputation for being a hate-everything cynic when it seems to me like he's too easy on them for the most part. Then he occasionally bumbles along with an unpopular opinion, and he's incapable of liking the laughter of children in people's eyes again.

He's doing NMS and he already mentioned how the game is boring as shit to him in last LDO.
