What game?
Does it have joystick support?
Is it better than X3?
...
It says Everspace in the screenshots
NO GAME is better than no man's sky, this is a game is a lie and a pathetic attempt to smear sean murray's name
Oh, have we already passed the inevitable disappointment stage for NMS? Is it time for the hype cycle to begin anew?
>I only wanted Colony Wars with those graphics...
Gee, no other space game has ever had a trailer featuring capital ship warp ins followed by dodging lasers in an interceptor in a fleet battle!
This must be the one, such footage really convinces me it's not just like the others!
As a backer and someone who played the beta, I can say that EVERSPACE is a really fun game, but more importantly the devs know their bounds, they aren't going overboard with stretch goals, they aren't trying to simulate an entire universe, instead they are focusing on making a fun video game. Imagine the rouge-like nature of FTL with the arcadelike combat of Freelancer.
Can I land on planets?
No, planets are boring and don't belong in a space game.
So you can't land on planets?
Star Citizen will be the next great leap once it's done around 2020-2022 because they're creating procedural generated planets.
>that movement
I know me some Freelancer when I see it. Colour me interested.
It seems every space game is either a sim or a strategy game nowadays.
why are all space games trying to be so utterly complex about everything, including piloting?
i'd be completly fine with house of the dying sun esque graphics and gameplay, just in multiplayer, an open world, a decently working economy and some actual content.
why invest so much into photorealistic graphics and highly complex piloting, when games like house of the dying sun look pretty awesome while being damn simple?
I'm waiting for this game because just the look of it really reminds me of Freelancer if it was made on modern hardware. I hope the atmosphere will be just as good, though it's a shame they decided to go with FTL-like roguelike adventure isntead of actual living universe. Though considering it's a small indie studio, I guess it's a good thing they aim at realistic goals.
Can the camera be switch to first person?
everspace is proven concept tho. the guys doing it did the galaxy on fire series - this is just the next in line. a simpler space game than something like star citizen/insert space flight sim here, but still fun and addicting.
galaxy on fire 2 is only 7.99 on steam. got 30 hours out of it personally...
Yes, on launch the game will support a fully animated cockpit and VR, though right now the first person support is a bit basic.
>why focus on gimmicks and graphics instead of working to improve gameplay through innovative mechanics
THE question to ask of video game evolution since the 1990s. The answer to that question is that capitalism encourages making things cheaply but in a way that allows them to be marketed to idiots for maximum profits. We just don't have an economic system that allows people to put a lot of effort into making high-quality artistry.
God damn I share this board with people THIS retarded.
See, this is what Freelancer did _right_. I don't care if it's not realistic - exploring space in Freelancer is fantastically fun, and the missions heading into the unknown were tense.
>galaxy on fire 2 is only 7.99 on steam. got 30 hours out of it personally...
Then you honestly have fucking terrible taste in games, don't value your time, or are in fact a dev shilling your garbage.
Galaxy on Fire 2 is mobile garbage that should have never seen a PC release and Everspace looks to be nothing more than another nasty cash in on the space craze.
If you want decent cheap indie space games, Rebel Galaxy or Starpoint Gemini 2 are worth checking out, but honestly you're better off just re-installing Freelancer with some mods or actually giving a decent space sim like I-War 2 or Freespace 2 a whirl.
...
>webm
that's Freelancer as fuck
where have i heard this before?
>"Fun games are the ones with mindless and senseless clusterfucks! xDD"
fucking millenials
Yeah it already came out a few days ago.
Anyone still play the multiplayer for this game?
I know there were like a dozen mods but I'm not sure which is the best.
Anyone with half a brain knew that No Mans Sky would be an ocean wide and a puddle deep
Also is NMS the new Undertale on Sup Forums
If you can stomach the RP nonsense, the Discovery Mod still has an active and healthy MP community.
No, Undertale spawned one of the worst fanbases in existance, but was a really good game all in all. NMS has no redeeming qualities.
>was a really good game all in all
Stopped reading there
As a former Disco player, there are a few gems of players that aren't Mary Sue memespouting faggots, but you have to stomach a lot of terrible players to carve out your fun.
Caveat ludius.
>hear about space game
>YOU CAN DO ANYTHING
>OMG OMG OMG
>WELCOME TO THE GAME
>EXPLORE ALL THIS NOTHING
>MINE ALL THIS NOTHING
>SPACE TRUCKING
>SHALLOW TO NON-EXISTENT COMBAT
Why.
does.
this.
always.
fucking.
happen.
to space games?
Because procedurally generated huge universes are just too tempting to developers. Give me a 'closed,' managed space experience anyday - at least it has the chance of being interesting.
>Everspace is a single-player, roguelike space shooter with AAA-quality graphics, great audio, and engaging gameplay mechanics.

AM2R threads make it all the more apparent
at least they are sincere
There's no shortage of great space games that do that stuff well....it's just that they all came out like a decade or more ago.
Also I wish to christ there was a decent space trucking game, Elite Dangerous came close, but they made the actual trucking part so ridiculously painful that it loses all appeal.
Illegal smuggling through hidden warp holes in Freelancer was fucking awesome.
Thanks, it's nice to know I don't have to engage in long conversation with every underage moron on this board.
I played it and it was pretty good.
I have no real qualms with it aside from the fact that there's not that much variety in upgrading your ship at the moment, as well as having no way to deal with those giant cruisers since they down your shields in literally 2 hits with their 200 turrets
One day you faggots will learn that every time you hear "procedure generated" for anything that isn't just some game based on you dying like a rogue like, it's going to be shit.
Exploring proceduely generated shit is not fun as a game. If you want to do this, go download that Space simulator.
3 mb doesn't do this game justice
my.mixtape.moe
How did Hello Games fuck up gameplay so bad, did they really only focus on procedural generation all those years?
Nothing wrong with it as long as they don't advertise it as multiplayer
Can you seamlessly land on planets from space?
No. Why would you want to?
Afaik the ships changes visually when you upgrade it now, though this isn't communicated well.
I feel like the capital ships are okay the way they are, when they arrive they do so for a very good reason, you aren't supposed to have an effective way of fighting them
Has anyone tried this game with the Vive yet?
Someone upload the BETA ffs.
Why the fuck is this being compared with NMS then?
it's a space game and it's better then NMS
fuck off namefag
Oh it's only space combat. I was almost interested for a second.
Undertale spawned an autistic fanbase because it's furbait and you can make friends with everyone, and that hits a cord with friendless furries in denial.
No Man's Sky doesn't even have furbait so it will be forgotten very quickly.
Diablo is procedurally generated.
Name one (1) Space Sim with interresting ground combat.
It looks cool but in the end, it's just a space shooter with a gimmick.
I'll wait for X4, it's in development anyway and I'm patient.
>click grind loot simulator
Thanks for proving my point
How can you be excited after X: Rebirth?
sean STOP THIS
Yes, I am ready for Star Citizen.
>7 years later
Yes, I am ready for Star Citizen.
Well I'm one of the very few odd people in the world that liked X Rebirth. Or, more accurately, I love the vision they had for that game. The execution was lacking, true, but the ideas in it clicked with me, brought me closer to Freelancer and also added in that X brand of space jew management.
The series is heading in a good direction, even if it stumbled hard at the first hurdle.
but see, you just hyped me the fuck up. Now i'll be disappointed when i don't get 200 hours out of it and the combat isn't great.
10 second long immersive animations are not gameplay, Chris.
wtf are these flight controls
>wtf are these flight controls
What were you expecting?
They're low budget mobile devs, the only hope they have of shifting copies is shilling in threads like this.
>oh no, a spaceship that doesn't control like a brick :(
-t. dumb nigger
It's space, there's nothing wrong with that webm.
Dev plz go.
It's a fucking rubbish flight model, Strike Suit, House of the Dying Sun and Freelancer are far better examples of how arcadey space shooters should be done.
Take notes, unfuck your shit.
>It's space, so rear thrust can just make you move in 4 directions without changing the angle of the ship
>look up game
>charging access to Alpha and Beta
DOA.
>tfw I just want a comfy space game where I can walk around ships and explore space
>yfw NMS is helping Space-Sim's make a fucking comeback
uh.. AMBAC?
Star Citizen m8
vaporware doesn't count
I'm pretty sure that user wants to play such a game before he turns 80.
all he did was ask questions, i dont get it.
>OP posts a game that probably lots of people have never heard of
>someone asks some basic questions about it
>OH MY GOD YOU RETARD
seems like a totally balanced response.
that isn't how ambac work, even gundams do it better
citation?
source? sauce?
got a linkarooni?
do you have a single fact to back that up?
Why is it that all these games only ever let you use a fighter? I want to fly a battlecruiser damn it.
Because jewdevs who make space games always charge $2999 for battlecruisers
>complaining that movement is 6DOF
>in fucking space
Have you tried Rebel Galaxy?
Why can't someone make a game with the same concept as no man's sky, but with actual gameplay? It would almost definitely sell well considering no man's shit sold so well.
That's not what I, or anyone else was complaining about, strawman.
Holy fuck that looks like shit
kill yourself my man
Holy fuck that looks like fun
ftfy
Please let this be b8
Looks neat.
Is the beta on a torrent somewhere?
I've been ready since the Alpha.
can we PLEASE stop pretending that space games aren't shit across the board
Man I'm a sucker for those phase out animations, fucking love it
Call me when I can play as a mech. Ships are lame.
That webm is of the standard to make anyone actually fucking want to play the game
