Which punk you prefer, Sup Forums?
Which punk you prefer, Sup Forums?
FF6
aquapunk
They all sound pretty neat
Steampunk has been ruined the last few years though
...
Why is it called -punk?
this along with solarpunk
preferably in the same universe
I think it started with cyberpunk in the 80's, some of the aesthetic inspired by 80's punk people, like the pink mohawks and leather boots and stuff
and then they just started throwing the punk part onto other type of settings
It's supposed to have to do with class-ism.
That shit has long since gone out the window.
Picture of a fuckhead, do not be this.
Gassing degeneracy will evolve society to levels beyond Utopia.
The "-punk" suffix was first coined during the 1980's when science fiction bloomed. It's supposed to be representative of counterculture nature and how aesthetics such as "diesel" and "cyber" are in opposition from contemporary aesthetics.
BIopunk.
Would Thief 2 be classified as dieselpunk by this definition?
Cyberpunk of course
This is a prime example of someone who is mentally ill.
Everyone take note
Somewhere between cyber and diesel.
I like the idea of darkness, artificial light and being oppressed for some reason.
Most Steampunk < Raypunk < Good Steampunk < Dieselpunk
definitely cyberpunk. I'm a sucker for realistic sci-fi though
only correct answer
Which One Has The Best Jetpacks?
I Fuckin' Love Jetpacks.
Deiselpunk all the way
this is correct
i need an rpg Sup Forums
anything
it just has to take me on the same kind of ride that Ghost in the Shell 95 and GitS 2: Innocence did
but not planescape
EYE
Do Sex
literally
already
both
Cyberpunk
CYBERPUNK
But only with a retrowave soundtrack.
Is there a lolipunk?
i really like cyberpunk with normal stories and slice of life that duo is really nice and fit quite good
for example snatcher and va-11 Hall-A.
i really liked va-11 hall-A are there more games/books/movies/manga with cyberpunk and slice of life
Play dude sex again, but with an overhaul mod.
What are some good Dieselpunk games?
Stalker and metro
>Do Sex
Can you link an actual link to this game because googling it doesn't help
deus ex
This thread is shit.
First and foremost, everything other than cyberpunk in the original image isn't real. Cyberpunk is the only thing up there backed up by numerous novels, television, and film. These are just made up bullshit nobody put in work for.
Raypunk is especially some try hard shit. You have to put punk after everything? It's literally just retro futurism renamed for retards.
you need to turn off safe search
TNO
no one?
>Mentally ill
>Defending degeneracy.
......
...
..
user... my dear user.
just stop.
Cyberpunk
Raypunk 50's esque is really cool, but almost never done, nice white and americana.
Cyberpunk too weebo for my taste...
Diesell ghetto with fake north english accents.
Steampunk just fuggly, retarded...
Medieval steampunk > Victorian faggotry
>Cyberpunk is the only thing up there backed up by numerous novels, television, and film
Steampunk is fairly popular, Dieselpunk is pretty much just the Mad Max flicks
OFFICIAL Sup Forums-RANKING
Cyber>ray>diesel>steam
marry, fuck, kill, kiss
same reason as -gate
only original truly applies
Deiselpunk minus the facist implications is my kinda shit
...
>Cyperpunk - a dystopian future as imagined by people in the 80s disillusioned by global capitalism
>Dieselpunk - car porn
>Steampunk - romanticisation of anglo colonialism
>Raypunk - a utopian future as imagined by social democrats in the 50s
lmao
Lite-steampunk with more color and less retarded designs atop lighter diesel/modern-ish tech and open Tolkien-esque landscapes is something I'd like the most.
Otherwise full-blown Japan-style cyberpunk, maybe with some ray-ayys.
Flip Steam and Ray and you would have my best to worst order from left to right.
>raypunk
it's Raygun Gothic you fucking moron
Steampunk has never had a single good movie, and most other media it appears in is nearly as bad.
Why is it so popular?
Atompunk.
I think it's got something to do with "sophisticated gentleman" mumbo jumbo idiots love.
So like... splatoon
It's a class fantasy. Well dressed aristocrat gentlemen and ladies in possession of fancy gadgets and steam-powered vehicles and nobody ever asks how they can afford any of it and stuff just sort of comes out of nowhere because malnourished laborers are quietly omitted.
there's tons of greasy factory workers in steampunk.
>ctrl-f
>no biopunk like fucking anywhere.
No wonder is so hard to find biopunk games and movies, the few that knows about these things don't like it.
Shame.
i guess the oddworld games fit into that?
at least oddysee and exoddus
The presentation, though. Are they jolly or fantasizing about murdering their employers?
raypunk isn't a real fucking thing, it's just called "science fiction written before 1940"
steampunk IS a real thing but it is often mistaken for science fiction written before 1890
>your wife is 100 percent a frog
>no biopunk like fucking anywhere.
Literally Waterworld.
wow, you sure showed us
i did.
Fucking. This. Cyberpunk is an entire genre of fiction with many great works. Literally everything else is just a shallow aesthetic and nothing more. It just looks cool. It doesn't attempt to reflect on humanity or the direction technology is pulling our society into the future.
>b-b-but it looks cool!
Fuck you, no it doesnt. Don't lump a real genre together with that made up bullshit.
diesel>ray>cyber>steam
But literally every other JRPG is medieval steampunk. It's like Japan's version of tolkein fantasy.
I just like Weird West a lot. There's almost none of that beyond a minor few things. I guess Blood counts....sorta? Cowboys and Aliens? Deadlands and that one zombie cowboy game that came out a year or two ago?
THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO
>High tech, low life is so deep, guys XD
meatpunk
it's the most familiar
my favorite is atompunk but out of those 4 i think dieselpunk is pretty neat
its just a way to classify aesthetics, before 1940 people didn't do these kind of things because they lacked the ammount of comics and books to start deviating so much that they needed to call it names to search it faster.
>My tastes are superior and therefore you're utterly wrong.thepost.
>cyberpunk has been over fucking done to the point
>we already lived in the dieselpunk era so no
>buck rogers sucked
>80% of steampunk is post-apoc
Do you mean Hard West? Either way, Weird West is great and Hard West does the setting justice.
retro-futuristic is way less cringy that just adding a "punk" suffix onto whatever word first came to mind
Originals referred to the "punk" nature of the setting, with cyberpunk being about oppressive megacorporations, and steampunk being about the exploitation of the lower classes by the upper class (like victorian england)
It's meant to show a degree of cynicism in the work, and is now completely meaningless when applied to something like raygun gothic (which is totally sincere)
it's magicpunk or shit like that
More steampunk.
Everything is coal/steam powered, gentry (Lords and Ladies) is highly focused. However, I'd probably just call it historical fantasy.
The non existent one
name a good punk game, i'll start
>good cyber
deus ex
hard reset
mirror's edge
>good diesel
crimson skies
>good steam
the order 1886
damnation
dishonored
thief 3
don't know a good raypunk game
dishonored but it might be as well Teslapunk
What is
>Howl's Moving Castle
>minus the facist implications
why?
Cyberpunk, always. Though Raypunk sounds fun though I've never seen a game with a Raypunk setting.
>don't know a good raypunk game
Deadly Tower of Monsters does everything almost perfectly except the actual gameplay part.
Fucking ACE Team and their experiments.
This game looks like it has so much promise but it could flop so easily
Yep. Looks cool and I watched a few videos on it but i'm chained to console for a while. Don't have the desire to lug a PC to and from work when there's always a TV and most of my games are on hard drive or on the external.
I'd kill to play Deadlands with some non spergs.
That's because it reminds you of you own life, maaaan.
Please stop it with this meme
Cyberpunk is an actual subgenre with themes while Steampunk is just a retro-future aesthetic and there's no good reason why it has -punk in the name
Everything else "-punk" is just made up hipster horseshit
love those holographichelmets.
biopunk, its so rare even in form of books and flicks and even fanficks
why do cyberautists get so angry at people liking "-punk" stuff? even if it's just to describe an aesthetic, so what? it doesn't take away from your dude sex
>dat image
but nature cant coexist with manmade technology.
its just stupid
>steampunk doesn't exist because I said so
kys fag
