The wording was poor on my part. I never meant to insinuate that Arcanum was renaissance. I should've added that play Arcanum to see how to make a setting in a transition phase of one era moving into to the next look and work properly. Something PoE failed at.

Both games have areas that are more advanced and ones that are less advanced, with the former flourishing. This lets you know that wow, the times they are a-chaingin'! So yeah, they both do it similarly. Pillars is less blunt about that, though.
