So, it looks like during a stream for civ vi, they accidentally revealed a final few leaders.
>Gorgo of Sparta
>Harald Hadrada of Norway
>Apparently Nzinga is leading Kongo instead of Alfonso
>Trajan spotted at another point
Thoughts?

>Gorgo of Sparta
>Harald Hadrada of Norway
>Apparently Nzinga is leading Kongo instead of Alfonso
>Trajan spotted at another point
Thoughts?
Also, Phillip II as leader of Spain.
>accidentally
>Traian
cool
also
>Gorgo
ridiculously desperate for female leaders
Hitler when?
>Apparently Nzinga is leading Kongo instead of Alfonso
same person
Woops, I'm retarded. Just saw the name and assumed they went with the other leader.
>Pericles
>Gorgo
Athens and Sparta are separate Civs?
the only gripe I have with civ6 is the mobile game art style they're going with. At least civ5 looked somewhat realistic and not a farmville knockoff
>Barbarossa looks nice and respectable as far as the portrait goes
>is in the same game as pic related.
I still can't believe what they did to Pedro II, Civ V was a pleasant surprise with how nicely they handled Brazil and then comes the sequel and he looks like THIS?!
More like two Greek leaders, one probably cut up to be sold as DLC
>Mvemba a Nzinga
>barbarossa wearing full plate mail
that's just not cricket
they're probably going to remodel his face a bit before release.
Jesus christ. They are trying so fucking hard to be eccentric it just ends up looking like actual dogshit.
Did they hire tumblr as artists?
I certainly hope so, but it'll need more than just a bit of work if it hopes to ever look decent. Looks like a comic relief character in an animated movie, for god's sake.
They did it for Viccy as well as Teddy, I expect they're redoing all the leaders now after all the negative feedback.
anything weird about that?
they're trying to pander to tumblr, what did you expect?
They fixed up Teddy because people complained, maybe they'll improve Pedro after some whinging.
They were up until Alexander.
they just need to resize the nose and his head, as well as shorten the beard. if you notice, all the civs shown off after him look like normal human beings, and they've gone back and redone teddy and a little bit with victoria.
one of the most unimmersive things was the fact that the leaders still worn the same things even in space age.
They're normally under Greece. They probably still are, just two leaders for the same civ.
Not up to date with Civ VI. Care to show some before/after ?
>"""""""""""holy roman empire"""""""""""""
...
before/after
i think they still could be. it seems like civ6 gonna have like civ4 diff leaders for same factions. and athens leader could be focusing on like smart stuff'n'shit and sparta would be full warcraft
God damn, that's a huge improvement.
Go to bed Voltaire you're drunk
Afraid I don't have the pics on hand, I'm on lunch break. Go to /4xg/, someone dumped pics of the new Victoria. There is a before and after image of Teddy floating around.
>Norway gets a Civ
>Denmark and Sweden dosen't
Oh well, after 6 games of being cucked, I guess it's time for them to finally get a civ.
Is there one of these for how they fixed Victoria's chin?
youtube.com
That's infinitely better. Hopefully they'll adjust all the models. I don't know what they were thinking in the first place.
Writing looks shitty and lazy, but I guess that doesn't matter in Civ.
or they will not, they fixed usa leader because americlaps yell the loudest
Some of them look pretty good tbqh
Montezuma especially
Such a small difference, and yet infinitely better
It says a lot if fucking Queen Victoria is the most attractive female in the game
I want to make sweet love to Vicky
So is there a complete list of all the leaders up right now?
I don't know, I think it lacks something when compared to Civ V's Montezuma, but Civ V's Montezuma was absolute goat with his murder stare and spooky fire pit. It went along well with his aggressiveness.
gotta have that difference from civ V
also "vikings" were in civ 4? abstract norway/sweden/denmark
The sound and animation when you entered war with him was amazing
His headdress is making a :3 face.
>Gilgamesh
Fuck yes, we cradle of civilization now boys
>sound has been mentioned
It is time, boys

How exactly do you know which countries they came from if they only say the names?
Nigga u dum
>in b4 they announce Harald Hadrada as leader of Finland and the entire country of Norway declares war against Firaxis.
I loved civil 5 God and Kings it was my first civ game and was super hyped for bnw. It's now one of my top 10 games but this man, wow it looks like a fucking moble game and gorgo and all these new female leaders got me really worried for the future. I was always peeved off they added Justinian's wife and not him but gorgo takes the cake.
>inb4 they announce Genghis Khan as leader of Finland
>Finland will be pleased
You're aids.
To be honest the artstyle shift is less of a bother to me than the artstyle shift between Civ III and Civ IV was. The Civ III map art was amazing [and Dynamic Leaderheads, DYNAMIC FREAKING LEADERHEADS], while Civ IV made it look a lot more cartoony to the point where even nuclear missiles, that looked threatening as all hell when you built them in III, didn't look as good in IV.
All in all I see this as a logical consequence of a trend that the series has been following for a while. The leaderhead art being so bad really is inexcusable though.
GIRUGAMESH
>no Isabella la Catolica
Lies! The board lied! Firaxis gives us fucking Gorgo of Sparta but cuts Isabella? This is fucking bullshit!
>mfw the inevitable Fate mod that changes Gilgamesh to a smug anime golden boy with his only interaction being calling you a mongrel
>civ5babby
you don't get to comment on other civ games
>Genderbent or Shota Gil as the leader
My dick
>Gorgo
Fuck. I thought that, up til now, that the female leaders they had included were reasonable (even Medici and Cleo), but Gorgo is just hamfisted
>Harald Hardrada
nice
>Nzinga
I knew they weren't going to pass up a black female leader, but I'm fine with this one
>Trajan
based
And I'm sure they'll all look super uncanny-valley
degenerates like you belong on a cross
You'll never understand user.
gilgamesh was fine
shota gilgamesh kind of made sense but was dumb and pandering to faggots like you
gender bent gilgamesh is just retarded like female king arthur
Kongolese leader is still Afonso, mate.
So we're going to have Afonso and Nzinga?
Afonso is Mvemba a Nzinga, the African queen you're thinking of is Anna Nzinga.
Ah, okay
>A famous story says that in her meeting with the Portuguese governor, João Correia de Sousa did not offer a chair to sit on during the negotiations, and, instead, had placed a floor mat for her to sit, which in Mbundu custom was appropriate only for subordinates. Not willing to accept this degradation she ordered one of her servants to get down on the ground and sat on the servant's back during negotiations.
Based Nzinga
You out making deals at the World Council when you accidentally trip and land facefirst on Catherine The Great's royal bosom and this starts playing.

What do you do?
See She's not in the game.
God, I'm so glad we're getting Peter again rather than Cathy
Motorboat
>no alexios komnenos for byzzies confirmed
FUCK
There's already a civ5 mod that creates Gil.
Of course there's gonna be a civ6 Gil.
And I would have it no other way.
literally fucking who?
>he has never played Age of Empires II
You're missing out, user.
I know who Barbarossa is, it's just that they picked the most obscure leaders ever just for the sake of being obscure. Nobody wants to play as Nzinga of Kongo, yet they didn't even add fucking Genghis Khan because he was ''too much of a jerk''
>Lena Headey
>King of Norway who tried to claim England
>Kongolese King who opened the doors to Europe
>One of the greatest Roman emperors ever
They're probably trying to freshen things up
Repeating the same leaders over and over and over again gets old fast.
So will Russia not be in the base game?
Plus, they plan on randomising part of a leader's internal strategy each game to make them play towards different goals, if you have really, really well known characters it'll feel weird having them play against their archetype.
Peter, senpai, we're getting best leader again.
When has it been said that Genghis Khan was too much of a jerk? They added Catherine de Médicis, and she attempted genocide, I highly doubt the moral character of Genghis Khan is what is keeping him away.
They're in, with Peter the Great as leader.
Oh shit, I'm fucking blind. Thanks mate.
isn't that a setting they used to have? why force it this time?
thats a fake quote circling around. they didnt put in genghis because the scythians fill the horseback archer niche, and they wanted to mix some civs up. they'll probably be dlc anyways.
in previous civs, they never had an actual agenda, only modifiers on everything they'd do. some had bonus for peace, some had bonus for war, some had bonus on land production, some navel, etc.
but now, civs have a unique agenda that they follow, as well as a different hidden one. the unique one is civ based (so france likes you if you spy on people, dislikes you if you dont keep up that sorta thing) but they also have a separate randomized one, like 'I want to build the most wonders' or 'the most land units' etc.
In general from what I've gathered the leaders aren't hard-coded to have different personalities and will instead form them over the course of the game based on what happens in the game. They're promising much more reactive gameplay in VI compared to V where starting off next to Monty doesn't mean you'll necessarily get raped
wash the horsefucker off my face
>war themes with an immediate noise to open the song

they're the best ones in the game, it's lame when they don't have some sort of stinger to complement the declaration of war
>Trajan
That's a pretty great choice. Hopefully one day they'll have Antoninus Pius and give you a bunch of benefits for building roads.
Ximicacan. Ximicacan! XIMICACAN!
I think the fact that there was the sounds of a crowd offscreen made it cooler.
yes look at the noses, they are all red
And Sweden is once again left out.
Gustav I of Sweden or Gustavus Adolphus.
FOR HARALD! FOR ODIN!
ᚠᚢᚴ ᛃᛖᚨ!!!
