>san andreas has fully working mirrors
this game is 12 years old. why are devs not capable of doing this anymore??
San andreas has fully working mirrors
you have to render same scene twice so it may lower performance by a lot if you are incompetent enough (Bethesda and CDP) and introduce tons of bugs and just may not look good at all
f-fucking entitled gamers
REEEEEEEEEEE
and just for refreshing memory, Max Payne 2 and 3 as well as GTA IV and V also have improved mirrors.
You literally don't though, all you need is an alternative tracking camera

Americans everyone
Ps2 managed it. No excuses.
It's only inside the house because it's a small space to load.
Would you really want loading screens between areas that have mirrors?
ue4 has great reflections.
These are not mirrors, technically :^)
The original unrealengine had mirrors and reflections
What about water effects? I see water reflecting stuff in games fairly often, but not mirrors? Are the two so different from each other?
GUYS THE PONG CONSOLES MANAGE 60 FPS. BEING THE COMPLETE RETARD THAT I AM I ASK HOW COME MODERN CONSOLES CANT PULL OFF 60 FPS
Yea and?
How fucking stupid are you?
>im american
Ah, that explains everything
current one has too.
Every time I make a enviro in ue4 I'm amazed by the reflections.
and -30fps
b-but ps4 is weaker than ps2!
???
no.
Made a level filled with puddles and smooth surfaces and particle effect rain everywhere.
All that with no streaming and I can get around 40 fps on 970.
if I remove the unoptimized rain it jumps up to over 100.
>Gta sa had perfect mirrors
>fast forward to 2016
You heard me fag
EBIN
Always found it funny that WoW has reflective water that reflects everything, but no other game manages it somehow.
maybe play more games than wow you narrowminded neet retard fuck
Cool low graphics settings.
You've never actually done graphics programming have you?
Bitch please, Uncharted 4 has mirrors in his eyes
t. consoleplayer
ultra reflections is an option on pc
Still infinitely better than no mirrors at all.
That's a static image, aka an enviromental map, similar to TF2 Sniper's scope "reflection".
Stop making those fucking threads
Too much focus on "muh hd" ruined games.
You lose things like mirrors, dynamic body size, big smooth loading maps, real physics, and all kinds of dope ass features.
All thanks to 12 years olds and their cowadoody mentality.
environment map*
Maybe because San Andreas is not graphically impressive and just mirroring a closed room will not affect performance at all.
>GTA SA
>Locked to 25fps
>Game flips out shit loads if you unlock fps
good "PC" game
It's considered unimportant now. Mafia 2 did it, so it can be done. Nobody bothers.

The medium settings on PC have worse reflections than the console.
The 360 and PS3 have better reflections than PC's low.
Good try retard.
You can put reflection to max.
>inb4 consoles
The PS3 version had decent reflections on barber shops.
>but no other game manages it somehow
Gee I wonder.
Maybe because water doesnt normally reflect everything.
Because WoW uses low-poly assets that can be ran on toasters and don't require much power to process.
have you?
New Hitman has mirrors
why don't games just use fake mirrors with an NPC on the other side?
>game where they copy pasted the room on the mirror but your character is invisible
>character is a vampire
That's only in one room in the game, and the room has almost nothing in it.
This shitty PS2 game has working mirrors (of the render-to-texture kind, none of that fake-ass copy-of-everything bullshit). I blame deferred rendering screwing up everything.
this shitty early 3d game has working mirrors, no excuses now.
Can you even read the thread? Modern games need to render much more complicated shaders and high poly assets. Because of developers creating games with consoles in mind, don't expect them to create working mirrors without a huge framerate drop.
>Doom 1993
>Can't see your reflection or even your own feet

So does GTAV.
the new hitman game has mirrors
goty because of that alone
