I remember seeing him in that Fox news(?) segment discussing how video game is harming youth, I could sense a real passion about gaming from that man. Fast forward, guy seems like a dead husk, sold out and just going through the motion. I wonder if he still loves video games.

yes they can, as long as you pre-establish a value system. sure, these will be subjective, but you won't have a bias from the people or motives surrounding the development of the game

The irony is that Ebert isn't a respected critic, he's the forefront of the commercialization of film critique. Film critics hated him and what he did to their profession.
