bump
I never played during retail. I have however made a few characters and leveled up to 10 or so. Better than WoD without question.
I feel like I'm leveling slower than most people who play here, is it because I'm shit?
Probably.
How are you leveling? What level, where, what class?
EC, 7 wizard.
Just killing shit but groups that'll want me are hard to find
Dawg I had like a 30something Mage and stopped playing shortly after the earth elemental a were no longer giant turds
Wizard is a rough class to level with solo before you get all your roots and shit. EC is a decent place to do it, however.
You could also try GFay if you wanted to bother with the trip.
Suck dicks for Clarity in the EC tunnel
I wish I could know stuff like this.
I didn't even train meditate til like level 5 because I had to be told.
I don't mind learning, but people just don't talk to one another there.
Just the way it is on a game that's 16+ years old. People just kind of assume you know the basics if you're playing. You should ask for tips for newbies in OOC, you might even get some handouts
Ya, but I'd like to find groups.
Can I do orc 1 yet?
You probably need a couple more to do Orcs. 7 is a little low unless you have a full group.
Keep killing skellingtons and getting bone chips. Necros will pay for bone chips. You should be able to get at least a few PP per stack
How do I sell off my bone chips?
so which one worked, the torrent or the google drive? No one answered yesterday, also who is playing?
I'm playing
RIGHT
NOW
advertise for it in zonewide chat
>tfw I've been vendoring them
fucking whole silvers each man hell yeah
So I started a Halfling Druid yesterday, where do I go for sweet EXP groups and seeing more than one person an hour?
10p per stack of bone chips is normal. I normally save up a few bags then give someone a discount for buying them all.
I've never gotten past lvl 35, but finally have FBSS and a decked out monk, but got bored as fuck and stopped playing again.
34 mage, 35 pld, 32 monk, 36 necro.
It seems like once I realize I am going to be doing this for the rest of the game I get bored.
A+ community though. I've won 10k plat worth of shit just randomly.
Why can't it be easier to find a torrent for this shit?
Misty thicket is fucking far from anything else really. I would wait until daytime then run for EC and get a port/bind to Gfay, or reroll a woodelf.
Gfay has people and groups, more of a hub than misty thicket, the deadzone
All you do is literally type in Everquest Titanium
Whats the easiest class to level and how long does it take?
Also, kill any bears you see. HQ pelts are an easy 30p per. Run to tunnel entrance and ask for any buffs for retarded new person then go kill.
I think staff of the scorned is like 14/24 and 30p wiz only
Bard, you can get to lvl 60 in a few days with swarm kiting entire zones.
Though you will be naked, poor, and hated.
Druid is easy as fuck to level, can heal, fight, teleport, buff
Getting ready to hit Orc 1 or Orc 2 with my 10 cleric and my friend who's an 8 rogue.
>reroll a woodelf
Shit. But wouldn't there be a lot of people around Freeport? I remember grinding in the sewers there but I can't remember what version of EQ it was.
Sewers.. Would be Qeynos probably.
The most populated areas to level 5-10 are
Gfay for groups, CB belts to sell for 3p per, get some good spell money, trainer, shops
EC to get buffs and solo shit if you can bum a weapon from someone
Qeynos is populer for gnoll fangs, but its a bitch to get there, unless you are a human druid.
I almost always end up doing EC solo route, because I cant stand the piss green fog.
I really reccomend Gfay though, orc belts can net you 400p by the time you hit lvl 10
Gfay is also a popular newbie zone. Lots of times when I was leveling an alt starting there, someone would just hand me some free shit. People also do random item give aways somewhat often there too.
Also, fuck halflings, I mean 10% XP bpnus, but fuck the low to the ground camera angle.
mid 30s is babby tier.
Should at least get up to LGuk levels where your monk will have to be dedicated puller in dangerville
I leveled to 32 in like two days and got totally burned out. Probably go back someday. Pulling like a champ is a blast, but sometimes miss just sitting on my ass and /petattack
last night someone posted a torrent with everything and google drive with the 5 iso
Gfay has been fucking dead this week.
EC is alright, but as has been said if you want a good newbie zone with groups and money, Crushbone is the way. The only downside is that Dark Elves will hate your ass and the Ambassador will periodically run train on you.
Yeah it is Qeynos, I just remember going to Freeport and getting raped for something.
I guess I'll either plan a route to GFay or give up and make an elf, thanks lads.
I don't mind the camera, and I always play the midget races. Plus I like their god better.
P99 needs a new server IMO
I remember I played this as a kiddy and didn't fully undersatnd how the game worked, pieces it together little by little cause I was dumb, had various characters die in impossible to reach places
>Be begging in Quenos cause no shame
>Random dude rides up to me
>I'm deleting this character and I'm fucking rich, here's my stuff
>Full bronze plate, magical spear
>Holy shit
>Some shitter wants to go to Neriak and I have a quest there so decide to go with
>Run away from every mob but somehow get there
>Get to the Necromancer guild
>Get chased off by the ghoul guards cause I'm stupid and didn't check reputation
>Have to leg it back to Qeynos
>Die like a bitch to some powerful mob in the middle of nowhere
>Dpend a whole day and die literally 10 more times trying to recover it
>Give up
Crushing defeat. WoW never made me feel that attached to gear.
Where do you get backpacks?
What level are you?
Back when /consent let you loot a player's corpse instead of just dragging it. I would lead people to their deaths, tell them to let me drag body, then loot/log.
I was a really mean kid
It needs some new content.
I always wanted to see a classic themed server with an additional race or class or something.
Check these dubs
Nah, Classic is best. It just needs to not have those super faglords that sit on all the endgame content.
Would you take a level 7 with you?
Whopping level 3 senpai. Might be starting over at 1 now.
I would roll a new one but I don't feel like it desu.
if I do I'd be a gay bard for super power leveling
Which one has more players.. Everquest 1 or 2 atm?
Does Everquest not have any sort of legacy servers? Also I see on website there is 1.1k players on. Is this any sort of average for how many are on any given day?
What does this mean? Is it hard for new raiding guilds to appear or something?
Every raid in Everquest is what modern games would call a World Boss. There is no such thing as instancing. It spawns, a guild kills it, and its dead for everyone until it respawns. Often days or weeks later.
There's a big neckbeard guild on P99 who basically monopolizes big spawns and dumps all over anyone else trying to get them
What the hell that sounds terrible. So literally there is only one stupid guild hogging all the raids. Surprised the admins haven't done anything if one guild is ruining end game for everyone. I remember back when I played guilds would take turns on world spawns.
Pretty sure the admins are in that guild.
It's the reason why everybody wants a fresh server on p99, to get away from that crap
Probably 1, but we're playing p1999 here.
It does, it has progression servers, but we aren't talking about that either
Are you niggers playing on red?
That sounds corrupt as hell. What about this server that's down aka Project 1999 Discord?
PvP server, defunct iirc
I'm rolling a ranger. What should I do in the early levels?
Yes, I know it's a shit class.
So what does Sony think of P99? Seems like its got alot of people. Surprised they haven't tried to shut it down or something.
The staff in charge of EverQuest and the P1999 crew are on good terms. Last I heard they were officially endorsed and everything.
Given the project their blessing, actually.
Oh wow that's a surprise. Okay this thread is making me nostalgic I think I might have to play. I see on the website they have Velious up. Last time I saw p99 I think they were on kunark. Has any future plans been announced? Aka is it going to include the later xpacs too eventually? I didn't like what the later ones did personally.
They've said they aren't going past Velious before
Fantastic thanks.
currently using this torrent to download a customized p1999 everquest install.
Will update

Yeah, it works fine. Just make sure you extract the p99 files into that folder.
Coming from a classic player, EQ doesn't have to stay 100% "classic" to maintain the feel of classic.
I've always wanted to see Aviaks or Orcs playable, and I wanted to see a real ranged class that uses bows, like an Archer.
If anyone could do it and make it feel "classic" it would be the P99 guys.
> I wanted to see a real ranged class that uses bows, like an Archer.
Ranger became this in Luclin at least.
Problem is they needed the AA system. I don't think P99 wants to do AAs.
I'm hoping they do eventually, I was pretty casual but I loved luclin
Luclin wasn't as good as Velious, and it was definitely the start of the downhill slide, but I will admit that it added a lot of incredibly cool zones, lore and some nice convenience systems.
>Pretty sure the admins are in that guild.
IS THAT SHIT STILL GOING ON?
JESUS H CHRIST.
What is this? is it a everquest classic private server or something?
I really want them to stay away from Luclin.
>but I will admit that it added a lot of incredibly cool zones
Yea it did didn't it. I remember one zone that was a vacuum, having no air and you had to have some water breathing spell or something to not die.
>got into EQ2 years ago instead of WoW or EQ1
>helpless nostalgia over a game that has Z E R O private server interest
just kill me now
I played eq2 for a few years. Wasn't nearly as comfy as the first. Still..some good memories.
EQ2 is fucking horrible.
I played the shit out of EQ2. My brother came back from military with a PS1, a 100 pc CD-holder full of C&C, WC2, Tekken, cult japanese fighters that probably never made it past one print etc, and a collectors edition of EQ2.
I played the shit out of them all.
Then he killed himself and I hid my EQ2 CE box in the garage.
Nah, I don't mean like Luclin.
I mean an actual new/dedicated Archer class with a few custom skills at certain levels, like rapid shot or something, that uses bows from a distance and fires quickly and can critical with bows.
Wizard is not a good choice for your first class if I'm being honest. You should do something that can solo or will be sought after in groups. Wizard is only really good in late game where you can have mana batteries for your nukes.
camp check
try being an ffxi vet. We have almost nothing. Nasomi is garbage.
Not him but what about a hybrid class like Shadow Knights? From past experience in some mmos hybrids seem to not be popular for groups.
I recommend druid or necro for your first class. SK is fine if you don't mind tanking though. If you roll SK, you WILL be the tank of the group you're in.
Shadowknight is good but you want a real winner that can solo, group and be generally fun you should try Monk, Druid, Bard or Necro.
Bard is the most skill intensive class in the game
I never got to experience cats on the moon, but I'd be down to try it if they removed the bazaar and the new models from that expansion.
>Bard is the most skill intensive class in the game
I would argue ENC is higher skill cap.
A lot of ENC has to do with your party not fucking up as opposed to you.
Bard reporting in. Macros are for fucking casuals. Single pressing is the way pros do it.
er, no I'm talking about solo/duo ENC.
The hybrid tanks in EQ (SKs and Paladins) are very popular in groups. They have better snap aggro than warriors and they offer pretty good utility.
Why would you solo ENC?
You're like the most sought after group class
Because you can solo rare mobs and get the drops. Also ENC/CLR is arguably the strongest duo in the game and can clear content that usually takes 5 people. Also, while enchanters are sought after, groups only need one, so if all the groups in the area have enchanters you can go solo and it's pretty effective, though not easy.
This game looks like a shitty copy of WoW. What the fuck is going on in these pictures? You must be autistic if you actually enjoy this shit. xD
this is bait
user the thread is doing fine, you don't need to go fishing for bumps this early on.
post more screenshots faggots
I guess that might be true, but I've never seen an Enchanter actually do it nor do I have any idea how they'd do it. Charm kiting I guess? Never played an ENC.
My favorite Duo team was always Monk/Shaman, however.
>Monk/Shaman
Funny you bring that up. That's basically the only duo that can compete with ENC/CLR.
And the process is pretty intense. It involves charming high level mobs that have more hp and damage than players can ever have. Cleric is there to stun when charm breaks, and buff/heal pet.
But I wanna wizard things
