Videogame journalism is actually a complete joke, mainly due to the community. It's important to remember that the videogame community is adamant about a) spamming 10's and 0's on metacritic because their opinion must be objectively correct b) banning dissenting opinions from conversations about games they enjoy or hate and c) creating fake accounts on certain websites to further cement their own opinions as the majority opinions.
Mainly this is due to the videogame community being heavily ingrained in the Internet community, so it's full of retarded autistic losers that think they're the only intelligent people in the whole world while simultaneously feeling that their opinions must be validated by those they consider to be inferior to them.
They're also mainly children and teenagers with anger issues.

Hulk sued in 2014 and it was delayed until late 2015, where Hulk got most of their asssets, basically he owned Gawker, But the owner of Gawker, Denton, lied about how much Gawker is actually worth and it didnt cover the damages that were awarded to Hulk and so they got into deeper shit, to the point where they couldn't declare bankruptcy to avoid like most companies would.
So Hulk owns Gawker, Denton lied to a judge, which is a federal crime and Gawker is the parent company of Kotaku, basically making Denton, Gawker and Kotaku his bitch.
At this point Hulk can take Denton personally to court just for lying to a judge, which would really fuck him over as there's no chance he would win, so hes quitting journalism all together to avoid pissing off Hulk Hogan even more and hoping he will forget this will ever happen.
TL;DR: Hulk owns Dentons ass, Gawker and Kotaku and will never hear from them again.
