I preferred Split/Second.

>what is the best arcade racing game?
Burnout 3.

Blur was alright but suffered too much from the "fill bars to progress" thing, was an otherwise decent mario kart clone.

As for other decent arcadey racing, Motorstorm/Pacific Rift were good, Split/Second was fun if repetitive, Burnout Revenge was good, and Gas Guzzlers Extreme is good.

Blur was one of the best arcade/kart racers in a really, really long time. I'm sad it all got shut down and we'll never get a sequel.

This too

Scripted AI.

Not even rubberband, I can pinpoint where you'll meet the AI if you let them get ahead.

guess it's time to rev up that pcsx2

also pic rel is top-tier

It's my favorite NFS game, for sure (Underground 2 and HP2 are bloody excellent too).

I ALSO LIKE NFS HP 2010, MW 2012, RIVALS, AND 2015 YOU FUCKING FAGGOT.

>MW2005 as favorite
>liking all the new fucking garbage games
>doesn't even acknowledge NFS2/3/4/2000 as existing

FAAAAAAAAAAAG

>there will never be another game like Split/Second ever again

I like NFS3:HP and HS but I haven't played them as much.

I think MW 2012 could have been top-tier if it wasn't so bare-bones. The car-switching and open world were fun but the races were done so quickly and there wasn't shit else to do

3 Hot Pursuit was the best of the classics.

Carbon was probably the closest thing the west has to an Initial D game outside of emulation, shit even has the iconic mountainside drift faceoffs.

I could make a goddamn video series about how the NFS games I like aren't shit.

The best arcade racing games are anything from the Burnout (except Paradise) and the Asphalt series.

High Stakes > HP as long as you're on PC so you have access to the HP tracks.

what was that neon cybershit lazors game that was released/early access enabled recently?

will it be good?

Distance? That's not really a racing game, I don't think.

People compare it to San Francisco Rush and I don't know why.

Sports cars will never look this clean again

>finish midnight club la
>want to go back to 3 dub
>download this shit, load it up in emul
>horrible lag when buying 1st car
>stops working when i ride out
>google doesn't help

J U S T

Use the Dub REMIX version. Original Dub had some serious issues, but Remix runs better (albeit not flawlessly last I checked)

Never forget.

...

I actually liked it aswell.

>Michael Bay the game

Game's name and logo is literally stolen from a Britpop band
Bravo

that's not Full Auto which was also great

Flatout is the best

>Underground 2

>come out the airport
>lean back starts playing

still loving the 350z

Meh. Felt like a milder Burnout

>Need for speed Underground/ U2/ Most Wanted
>Burnout 3
>Gran Turismo 4
>Flatout 3
Are my fav racing games

IT's Finnish Burnout for PC gamers

New Hydro Thunder when? Hell, just port Hurricane to Steam and I'll be fine.

Before this thread dies, what's the best arcade racing game you can reasonably get on PC? I'm looking for pure fun and speed, with a rockin' OST. I already own Sonic Racing, and I think Hot Pursuit is kind of shit. What are my other options?

Comfiest game ever

Realistic or futuristic? Arcade as in "easy to play," arcade as in "just ride the fucking walls you pussy faggot" or arcade as in "Mario Kart"?

No preference in style, but I tried Distance and didn't really care for it. I like competing against other cars more than just time attack/obstacle course racers. I'm not really looking for a kart racer either, just something that lets me go fast with a comfy OST.

I forgot I have Burnout Paradise too, but the fact that the entire game took place in one small city was a major bummer.

It was pretty fucking fun and it looked good. I like how all the races were a battle for not last place with how crazy it was.

Shame the devs died tho.

How old of a game are you willing to play?

>Paradise haters already here

Burnout 3 sucks balls compared to paradise. Play hot pursuit, its burnout 3 in a need for speed skin

Take off the nostalgia goggles

There will never be a racing game as great as this again...

I don't know, Sixth gen? I'm flexible if the game's good enough, but I'd prefer something a bit more modern since I've already played the top racers in 6th gen.

Burnout in general is meh. Sure, it's F-Zero fast at times, but nothing has any weight, the tracks are piss easy to navigate after 1 runthrough, and outside of Crash mode there's nothing in it that hasn't been done better by other series.

>MUH OPEN WORLD
paradise was fun for a while but 3 was fucking perfect
I wish they did a hd remake for pc

>it's F-Zero fast at times, but nothing has any weight
Not him, but that's exactly why I loved Burmout, and the other arcade racers of that era. None of the modern racing games I've played have felt quite as fast or fun as Burnout 3.

If you want something better than silky smooth 20 fps, you're going to want the Xbox version. I'm saying this as a PS2 owner who has this game. Just make sure you get Remix because it's essentially an expansion pack.

>nothing has any weight
bullshit, you can clearly feel the class differences in Paradise

I agree with the track thing though

HP 2010 is one of my favorites.

I played through MW2012 and enjoyed it (not quite as much) on release, but then I went back to it and didn't find myself enjoying it at all. I can't quite figure out why but the game feels cheap as fuck.

>look up this game
>apparently it had a PC version
>it's locked at 30FPS
>a fucking racing game
>it wasn't even made by the Japanese

Why is this fucking allowed?

It's Disney Interactive, they can't code for shit.

Doesn't change the fact that it's still a fun as fuck game.

It was developed by Black Rock Studio, who also did Blur for Disney. The only reason this happened is because of CONSOLES.

>blur

Whoops, meant Pure.

>The people who made the game started working on Blur 2
>The had almost everything ready except for sounds and music to be added in
>They get Axed at what seems the 90% mark

youtube.com/watch?v=9oXT-H6ueLg

Fuck the jews at Activision Blizzard

Is this game any good?

>Another fun racing game to fill the burnout void that was lost forever and the dev team shut down because everyone just wants Forza/GT

>a "cinematic" on rails racer
>As opposed to an arcade racer with rock solid powerup balance and a dozen ways to fuck up your opponents which still demands high mastery of your vehicle due to semi realistic physics

whats a good modern racing game for PC?

Tried trackmania stadium and I hate that you can't change cars or steer in the air or fucking anything.

Idc it can be realistic or arcadey as long as its good.

Damn, another great game cucked out of existence by a publisher, just like Prey 2.

My nigga.

I still play that shit. The modded tracks are neat.
