And that's why fighting games are the worst videogame genre.
Well, besides everything OP saying doesn't making any sense, why fighting games communities are always the worse? extreme competition brings only the retarded or it's because of the giant roster of waifus?
Jayden Gray
Fighting game communities aren't the worst if they're just playing for real.
Problem is, casual fighting game players love to force house rules on others. >This win isn't legit, you used throws >Fireballs are cheap, it's not like you can punish them big time or anything >Everyone has to play like I do against the CPU on easy, otherwise they're just cheap Shit like that.

The people who bitch about how you play don't actually have an interest in playing the game, they only care about the Ws they get at the end and nothing more.
That's why if they're winning they won't complain no matter the method they take, but if you win it's not legit. Just whiny players who refuse to take their losses like a normal person.

Time to 『Bait the Dust』 >no game ever has had a normal fireball motion that complex. Most if not all fighting games copy Street Fighter's ⬇↘ + Punch motion, and every game since the original Street Fighter has given the player a reasonable amount of time to perform this motion. >again, no fighting game in history has ever had a motion even as remotely complex as this, but if you can't pull of impressive combos yet then simply don't. Matches, even high level ones, have been won with normals alone. >special moves (ie fireballs) almost never require meter of any sort, and assuming a shirui-no-kensen is a typical super move you should only need it's respective meter to be filled to the level it requires >if your most basic 2 hit combo isn't jab>jab then you're playing a really shitty fighting game
>this argument can be applied to literally any other game that recieves sequels, hell not even games, phones, cars, televisions, any time there is an update or innovation made to something you already have, it is human nature to want the new one. Your argument is flawed, however, because retro and older fighting games often still have a huge fanbase and occasionally and active scene. Examples include Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, King of Fighters '98, and Marvel vs Capcom 2. Not to mention that regular updates to games keep them balanced and relevant, try asking an Ultra Street Fighter IV player to a game of Vanilla Street Fighter IV and see how they react. >my $400 arcade stick is still on the store shelf since I play pad. There were no arcades near me growing up so I got used to playing on a standard controller. Sticks don't instantly make you a better player, they exist only as an option for comfort and familiarity.

So that they're hard to perform. It's the same reason why you move so fast in Quake and die so quickly in CS; having skill involved makes the game competitive.
I feel like a lot of people overestimate what a human being can do when it comes to fighting games. No one expects a newbie to be able to pull a super move out of their ass in the span of one frame. The player that can do that has got that shit in muscle memory from doing it so many times and even then might fuck it up. Pros are the ones who have practiced that shit for thousands of hours and even they fuck up their inputs here and there.
Jeremiah Thompson
One reason is balance.
Let's say you have an invincible antiair move that you can do with the push of a button
Any time the other person jumps you can react with a single press instead of an input.
Command grabs? One button grabs makes it a huge threat since now you can do it at any time instead of being limited by the input.
There is no inputs complex like in OP unless you're playing old KOF, that shit is gone though. You can also play simpler characters instead of the very complex ones. Which most people do anyways
Andrew Thompson

>competitive game >you use cheese strategy >"cheao player!" >cheap player beat you
If anything it's the designers fault for making cheese strategies stronger, if they actually are. Then there is stuff like a skill-gate. Morgana and Blitzcrank are perma-banned in Silver ELO on LoL, but on higher ELOs you see people banning stuff that they hate or stuff that is "strong" atm.
Matthew Sullivan
Why?
I'm an ex-muslim and I wouldn't vote Trump for my parents sake.
Joshua Johnson
There is no game where playing "cheap" will be the weaker option. It applies to just about everything even. There is no cheese unless the game is legitimately broken.
If a game isn't actually broken there is always something you can do, even if it's just preventing the situation from popping up in the first place.
You either learn what's getting you and find out that you aren't in a completely hopeless situation, or you learn what's getting you and find out the game is broken as shit and accept it/drop it.
William Jackson
>you use cheese strategy The problem here is that people consider spamming a fireball over and over or using a mixup they're unfamiliar with "cheese". If someone is able to cheese you, it's because you refused to adapt to the situation. It's not the other player's or the game's fault at all.
Aaron Torres
This is hyperbole but I legitimately feel this way. The entry skill level is too high for me to not get bored just beginning.
Thomas Scott
>Person does something simple and easy to counter >Other person does nothing about it "It's cheap that you keep doing the thing that I refuse to adapt to"

Lincoln Harris

Jaxon Adams
Directional Influence.
When you hit an opponent they can have some control over the angle they will go flying at.
If you do combos in Melee or 4 you have to compensate for DI to get followup hits.
Smash 64 doesn't have it.
Even if you play Smash on the most basic level there is still things to learn as you play to get better. Even if you use items all day there is still a learning curve to the game and dismissing learning at all as "autism" just shows you're the kind of person that will dismiss anyone better at you in a game.

What is the hardest input in a fighting game? I honestly think it's some of Arcana Heart 3's moves.
Fiona has a command combo that's almost a guarenteed one hit kill, but the problem is the timing is so fucking precise I have literally never seen anyone land it outside of a Youtube video. Meanwhile. Yoriko has her fucking nonsense pentagram that makes very little sense and is almost impossible to do under pressure. Pic related.
For those that don't get it, you have to do the middle command and then combo it IMMEDIATELY into the bottom commands. And the timing is really fucking strict to get it to work.
