You just posted it. It has more content than any other Picross game and the themes for each set of puzzles were nice touches.

Yu-No

Yeah, this. You started the thread with the objective best Picross game. Nice one.

Animated portraits, unlockable puzzle categories such as Nintendo consoles, tons of puzzles, all at an absurd value.

Oh and creating and sharing puzzles, as well as Jupiter repackaging Mario Picross and Super Nintendo Picross puzzles as free DLC. Phenomenal.

Have you guys been enjoying Picross 3D 2? What a surprise, though I checked on its status once a week since last year. Fantastic game as well, though less puzzles than the first 3D and it's more expensive with no puzzle creator and also eShop exclusive.

Mario Picross for burning this music in my head permanently

I was pretty disappointed when I bought the original Picross e and it didn't have the animated portraits.

I think the Picross e series has somewhat made up for that with mega Picross and micross (fucking LOVE micross), but I still miss them.

I love Picross, but I just seem to suck at it.

>Oh and creating and sharing puzzles

can you still download those puzzle if you play on a 3ds?

I like Picross 3D more, because it's not trial and error like the regular one.

this one is so good! I really miss the animations after you clear the puzzle but still being able to play on hard from the get go and the new 2 colors rule make up for it

Picross is never trial and error.
I hate to inform you that with the dissolution of Nintendo Wi-Fi services for Wii and DS, everything went kaput, including DLC.

Those puzzles have been backed up, thankfully. gbatemp.net/threads/preserving-ds-saves-with-the-dlc-flags-unlocked.362667/

I also love the flourishes there are when you complete rows/columns and the puzzle taking more detailed shape as you go. Excellent production value.

the free ones on mobile
also writting your own nonogram solver is fun

This one for me. Regular picross is fine but I really like the Picross 3D games.

Hungry Cat Picross

Once you get used to the color scheme rather than nonogram it becomes more fun than regular, also most of the puzzles are pop culture/vidya/anime (Sailor Moon, Ghibli kind) so it also helps. the format of the weekly challenges is pretty good too, 9 different picrosses that all join together for an image

The only problem is that it doesn't use cloud save so I lost all my progress when I reseted

>Picross
>trial and error

Every single puzzle can be solved with 0 moves in advance. If you don't know which boxes to fill or check off, you aren't looking hard enough.

Picross 3D is one of my favourite puzzle games ever.

Just started this, it's super hard for me to adjust because I played the shit out of the original Picross 3D and I keep fucking up because of the two colors thing.

Wait, is all that just on the NDS Picross?
Would there be a way to get Mario and Super DLC as well?

Was thinking of downloading this game recently with the new 3D one out since all I ever played was Mario on GB, wanted to fill in the gaps before playing the 3D ones.

I was intimidated at first, too. It takes getting used to; just play normal or easy until you're used to it and then crank it to hard like I have.

It's a nice, subtle change instead of just a rehash. I still hit the wrong color from time to time-- I think it's improper to get a strike for marking a cube a wrong color as it's just a wrong input most of the time.

Does anyone else have a heart murmur when the "halfway there!" text pops up? It makes me think I fucked up for a split second.

Yeah, give this link a try: gbatemp.net/threads/preserving-ds-saves-with-the-dlc-flags-unlocked.362667/

It's not perfect, though; it'll have to be played on a different save and will only work on emulator or r4. Even if it doesn't work out, you have the best Picross game available with a really engaging presentation and satisfying conclusion to every puzzle of which there are hundreds.

Thanks for that save link. im gonna have to get this older picross on the go

Cheers for the link.
I am going to use an emulator so I'm assuming if I remember correctly, I save the downloaded file as the name of the ROM?
