So there is a new master of orion game out? why is no one talking about this?

looks gay

Is this a gay simulator?

fp;bp

Their gangbangs must be fucking wild.

To many tanks

Where are the Gnolams?

>$29.99

I'd rather buy a couple sodas at the corner store

because no one played MoO
especially nu Sup Forums, since they are all underage/babies (hold for laughter/applause)

>cRPG
Not playing humans
XENO SCUM

because the shit isn't worth of what they are asking from it. It's shallow as fuck even for X4 game.

coming from someone who actually played MoO on MSDOS, i don't think anything they do will top the old game.
especially not with todays "graphics over all else" approach to games.

Something something about the devs and/or publisher.

Total Cancer did a play through review and he seems to thinks it's pretty fucking good. He seemed genuinely surprised it isn't shit.

Oh shit
Is it any good? Stellaris was boring and I heard the new GalCiv was pretty bad so I didn't have high hopes for this

Or I guess no one knows because 4X games are dead?

You can still play the old ones

I was disappointed by galciv3 and Age of Wonders 3

I played it. It's shallow just like every other new 4x game.

>It's shallow as fuck even for X4 game.
Are you saying 4x are shallow in general?

It's better than 3.

>I was disappointed by galciv3 and Age of Wonders 3
Those games are solid. It just so happens that really amazing 4X games are 15+ years old at this point and nothing has really beat them.

nah, you just don't hear much about 4x because it's still what it always was - a niche genre. civilization gets a lot hype when new game is released, but that's about it.

>galciv3
Needs expansions. These games always launch feature incomplete today because everything is rushed to get out and recoup.

>Age of Wonders 3
Are they working on more expansions? AoW3 saw a really upward trend with each new expansions more content.

>dat feel when Endless Legend is getting another expansion
Fuck yes, naval content.

GalCiv felt empty (though it IS space) and the gameplay struck me as being very shallow. I just couldn't get interested.

AoW was pretty enjoyable, but the victory conditions were pretty shitty and it seemed to heavily focus on the tactics side instead of the 4x

I played it a little. It's boring. You're better off playing MoO2.

If you want something different go play Aurora4X

>Endless Legend
How is it? I don't think I've ever played

Very good. The best UI you'll see for some time. Very well made.

Stylish as fuck and actually competent. Probably the most mechanically varied races in any 4X game I've played.

Is that an winged armadillo/pangolin race?

Looks like bats

Too busy playing MoO2

Because Stellaris is a shallow and unpolished game that is still miles ahead of this one.
Its only selling point is nostalgia.

I wish I could get into Endless Legend but I always lose interest after an hour, I think the tech tree puts me off. Top tier music and aesthetic though.

This isn't Master of Orion, it's a thinly veiled generic turn-based space strategy game, with a coat of Master of Orion paint.

>Age of Wonders 3
>Are they working on more expansions? AoW3 saw a really upward trend with each new expansions more content.

They've moved onto their next, yet to be announced game. But I think they left the door open for future DLC, nothing confirmed though.

Age of Wonders 3 was some good shit.

Because like all other recent remakes or spiritual sucessors it is lacking half the features of the original

They blew their load on SciFi nostalgia voice actors, pissed on fans of the original series to cater to casuals (removed turn based tactical combat), added star lanes because fuck you again MoO2 fans, couldn't into non-shit AI, and finally the one modernization feature that people actually wanted, useful base automation settings, completely absent! Which is actually a fuck huge deal here, all of the useful UI features for managing a mass of colonies in MoO2 are missing as well.

All they fucking had to do to break even was re-skin MoO2. But no, they were hell bent on showing off just how bad they were at making a 4X game of their own.

They went all out on production values, the graphics are great, the voice acting is great, the music is the original score redone with an orchestra, etc.

Unfortunately they didn't bring back the tactical grid combat system of the first two MoOs. The new combat system is just throw everything into a pile in real time and watch the fireworks, or just auto resolve everything.

The game is ok, but the combat system sucks and drives a lot of the older fans away, (my 65 year old father who played the shit out of MoO for decades says he wont touch the new MoO because of the combat).

It's MOO: we want the Endless Space audience.
