I'm the biggest FF loving faggot I know and I couldn't finish Crisis Core. The gameplay for battles was insufferable and made no sense.

Like, I don't know if it was just me but when I tried to play it this slot machine thing with the characters faces on it would pop up mid battle and I'd have no control over what was happening.

I played FF VII, CC and watched AC Complete earlier this year for the first time, and Crisis Core is way better than VII, and AC is totally necesary to close VII after that nothing ending.
The overall package of the Final Fantasy VII experience is pretty good.

The added scenes add alot more depth to the story so its not chopped to shit like the original, the voice acting is whatever, I never expect much from Western VAs. Its the overall idea that matters. So far as videogame movies go AC is by far the best, and is well-directed to boot.

The combat in the game was not the best, but overall I enjoyed it.

Downloaded the soundtrack just to listen too from time to time, has a few comfy songs.

Zack played a very important role in 7, he wouldn't have been as good a main character though. He would've stayed basically the same throughout the game and it wouldn't have been as interesting.

i hope its not just that, sure they are gonna expand on characters like Biggs, Wedge and Jessie, and god knows that the Shinra side also needs more development, especially Reeve, but on length of the game is concerned, a good length for the first part would be at least until the boat ride in junon to costa del sol, since

CC, on the other hand, is a fucking abomination but can't blame Tabata for that as he's just a pet director Nomura and Kitase kinda fuck shit up with that one. Type-0, nkw this one is pure Tabata and it's kinda mediocre to decent and XV will probably come out like this.

Whenever you have an video game opinion clash that is very powerful you have to ask yourself what you or your opponents want from that video game.
For me, it's complex natural gameplay. The "natural" part is key. A combat syste, no matter how complex, is useless if it's not in real-time, or if it doesn't have a control scheme that let's you feel, as much as possible, that you are there. A crafting system, no matter how complex, is also useless if it consists only of recipies of unique items instead of, like in the real world, a bunch of base ingredients of varying rarity which can and SHOULD be obtainable from multiple sources.

As such, I prefer Crisis Core to FF7. I couldn't even finish FF7 because, despite it's huge depth and breadth. it's not the kind of gameplay that I like. That doesn't mean I didn't hate the CC slot lvl crap, or that it wasn't an open world, or that it kept the pseudo-random encounter system. It just means that the simplified-dark-souls type of combat was enjoyable enough that I could actually experience the story and world. Also the materia combining was addicting as fuck. Also those Yukie missions. Also that 1v2 fight cinematic. Also Genenesis was cool.

I came to these conclusions because of a long list of unpopular opinoins that I have which forced me to think a lot about why that is:
Dark Souls 2 is the best souls game.
Quake is much better than Doom.
Blue Shift was better than Opposing Force.
Arcanum is much better than the other crps (Fallout, Planescape, Baldur's...)
Oblivion was the most fun TES game.
Blood Omen was a much better game than the Soul Reavers.
All "Nintendo games" are childish crap (except Metroidvania and maybe that Squid thing)
MGS4 was the best MGS game.
etc. etc.

I love Crisis Core, Zack became my favorite FF character and one of my favorite characters of all time after playing it, and overall I think its a great game, but c'mon man, there's no way in hell that it tops FFVII, the only way this could be your real opinion would be if you have never played FFVII.
