>Civ game
>18 rating
dude what

>he didn't see the alien pregnancy scene

I was waiting for this to get content through expansions like Civ 5 did. Civ 5 was also pretty bare bones on release, but the content for this game never came.
What's up with Civ 6? Is it going to have the same bare bones feeling on release? Does it even have any improvements over Civ 5 or is it just another release of essentially the same game with less features?

...

The game on the right side.

Sale numbers doesn't say so.

beyond earth was always just a shitty cashin, anyone could see that

and for those who couldn't there was a demo, but ofcourse retards just handed over their money without trying it first

This thread is a fucking bummer. I'm gonna post some recent games off the top of my head which pleasantly surprised me by not being shit.
Subnautica
Total War: Warhammer
Underrail
HITMAN
XCOM 2
DIRT RALLY
Grim Dawn
I want to also include Squad but it has a long way to go.

fuck off Todd

It's sci-fi Civ V. I think it's alright.

MGS V

Every night I feel it. The hype I've lost.

Civ 6 seems to have more features than Civ 5 did on release but I'm still going to hold out.

Civ VI has the same features as Civ V + DLC

Make your own thread, faggot.

>buhh i dont like it so im gonna change it

Call the cops kid I don't give a fuck.

They knew they make more money by selling Beyond Earth as a standalone game to a mediocre reviews than selling it as an expansion to civ 5.
People will buy civ 6 anyway.
Also: Civ 4, Civ 5, Civ:Subtitle, Civ 6. Spot the standalone expansion.

It could have been worse. The title of this game could have been Alpha Centauri. Thank god this wasn't one of those awful reboots.

>Abysmal and atrocious unit design
>All original C&C gameplay is removed
>Gameplay boils down to out-producing your opponent; isn't even fun to play
>Unit caps
>Actually having to level up to get access to build units in online matches
>Kane is an ayy lmao
>No scrin
>Killed the franchise so hard the only C&C we've gotten since was that browser game.

I got the game as a gift and I still felt horribly ripped off.

>is it just another release of essentially the same game with less features?

No, besides having less civs to play (for now) it has more features

The only thing they've really cut out from Civ 5 in 6 is the world congress, but that's because the diplomatic victory has been replaced by a religious one and diplomacy in general has allegedly been overhauled

This is good news. I don't really like the artstyle but I can get passed it.

Its literally a battlefield game, what were you expecting?

>Total War: Warhammer
>disappointment

'no'

READING COMPREHENSION

It's fake, the real rating is PEGI 12

lol

I still refuse to accept this as C&C 4.

Literally not even a mod, just a reskin. Meanwhile, Civ 4 mods like Fall From Heaven still have active multiplayer communities and recieve modmods and updates 10 years later.

>expecting warhammer fans to have above a grade 1 reading level

I only not played Underrail in this list. The graphics looks to outdated the gameplay must be something spectacular to compensate for it.

The gameplay isn't for everyone. If you enjoy fallout style rpg combat and experimenting with/building characters around that combat system then it's 10/10 but otherwise you probably won't like it. It is sort of lacking in story and world building but the atmosphere is quite nice imo.

Actually really tried to enjoy this....rising tide was not much of an improvement.

under 200 hours.
Each game i play is just forced.
I might uninstall this week....

I dropped it after about 20 hours

>Elite sequels and rehashes
>that 90s game with the ridiculous feature bloat hype about controlling a battlecruiser and landing on planets that never got released for like a decade
>'dude Amiga is REALLY coming back this time!'
>Daikatana
>'man we will have functional VR by 2000'

But especially:
Starcraft 2.
Every WoW expansion after WotLK
Diablo 3.

These stung cause I literally bought every Blizzard game since the time they changed their name from Silicon & Synapse. I still remember all those college Brood War and Warcraft 2 LAN parties the web1 Diablo 2 communities, getting into WoW beta, the launch, all the experiences, memories and friends from WoW and seeing everything wither away to plastic looking casualshit. and my son is playing cheesy aggro decks in Hearthstone on his phone

And now git off mah lawn

The fact that they did conglomerations of countries meant there were only so many factions they could make in the first place. Not that it matters, I'd rather have seven extremely well made factions than 1000 bad ones.

It's like a somewhat enhanced fallout combat system, but that still doesn't make it any good

Civ 4 had Colonization

>play broodwars with a group of 4 online friends
>play only with each other
>no one knows shit about proffessional play
>play so much we generate our own metagame
>develop strategies like slow advancing tank lines and timing attacks
>sc2 releases
>hyped as fuck
>no one likes it
>play alone

...

...

I thought we understood that at this point that goes without saying.

i had to... sorry

obligatory

I'll never be disappointing by any game again after this travesty.

shit taste fampai

I think that much of what seems to be going right with Civ VI is Firaxis learning their lesson from Beyond Earth and similar ventures. We're still at the turning point, but it seems that cutting things up for nickle and diming is on the decline, at least when it comes to what is primarily PC gaming, and in an odd way I think we've got the Steam review /refund system to thank for that.

Better than MGS 4

>Rising tides went in the right direction
>There will never be a third expansion
KeK

A-user you maniac!

Serves them right for releasing a half finished game when it had Alpha Centauri (one of the top 10 games ever made) rather than Civ V to live up to in people's minds.

it really doesn't get any worse than this

supcom 2 is pretty horrendous but i don't think this is worse

i do think* jesus christ

I was hyped for GW2 but it feels like a single player MMO. I can't get into any MMO without a proper trinity.

It still makes me sad what could have been.

The worst thing is that by itself, it's a rather competent rts, but it's so dumbed down compared to Forged Alliance it's not even funny.

Isnt wolbachia that gender modifying organism? What does that have to do with anything

What is it about games set in space that get hyped to oblivion and end up being no man's sky crap

I remember the hype around Mass Effect 1 had me thinking it was Oblivion in space, explore planets, go anywhere, do anything. Instead I got a crap third person shooter with an extremely linear storyline

Actually fuck it, everything gets hyped these days

Because space has been the final frontier since before you were born. It means infinite possibilities. Infinite planets. Infinite void, filled with jack shit.

This is MGS5-tier of disappointment.
>Lol story continuation is most likely DLC

I expected it to be a game where I get to be a Captain Kirk/James Bond mashup but it turned out to be cringeworthy SJW shit.

Thats why u play forged alliance forever and get the fuck out.

He was expecting a Battlefield game, not that, which really isn't.
And probably the #1 complaint:
>Weather effects are client side and random

...

Because space is composed of vast space and it's difficult to maintain suspension of disbelief while also creating planets that aren't fucking boring and pointless.

Got it during a sale for $13 or something like that so I felt I got my money's worth.
Still would like to get Rising Tide on a proper sale though.

exactly
