I feel that brother, I feel that
No son. You've just been playing extremely shit games.
I'm basically forcing myself to play games at this point because it's the only hobby I have left
>Spending $1500 on new PC parts when you could have spent $300 on used
wew
i fear that might happen to me aswell. now that i can afford a good pc, i barely have any time left to actually play. and when i have time i'd often rather watch a show or listen to music.
I'll buy it from you for $200.
>le jaded gamer meme
No one cares about how "tired" you are of gaming. No one cares about how you're disappointed by new games and wish you could have "fun" with vidya again. This isn't your fucking blog. If you don't like any modern games don't just sit here and whine about it you insufferable autist, go to /vr/ and actually find stuff you'll like. This is an anonymous image board, you know no one will like you or think you're cool just because you act too cool for vidya on a board dedicated to video games. Why the hell are you even here? Discussion doesn't need to be 100% positive of course, but if you don't like a game come up with actual reasons to dislike it, don't just go into a discussion thread and bitch about how "tired" you are of games. If you're so tired then take a fucking nap.
>built an $800 gaming pc
>Have to find a copy of windows 7 to boot it
>Don't want to pay Microsoft for Win10 spyware
Help
>build a gaming PC that can run literally every game in existence
>still just mainly play on consoles
No my boy. The thing is that PC has no games.
> tfw you still love video games so very, very much
>built $1800 PC for gaming last month
>got steam and have a G Gundam avatar
>bought some games like Dragon's Dogma and all the Dark Souls along with a few dungeon crawlers
>haven't touched steam in a week and am still playing Runescape
What did I do wrong?
I like gaming on a PC but I feel like it's no longer enjoyable.
Vidya just feels draining, like I feel like I have to force myself to sit in front of my computer and that I don't look forward to it...
Sorry for the blog post
>the next pc you buy will have windows 10 on it
go ahead and use that computer for something else then. there's more that a computer can do than video games you loser.
I dont know what game to play. I have $21.24 on steam. PLEASE HELP!
Should I get Deus Ex: HR?
Idk what to play and it's driving me insane!
Is this pasta or are you genuinely upset about this
>tfw it won't
Self-building master-race = superior.
W7 Ultimate stays on my HDDs, and in near future, it's Linux dual-booting time.
Get STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl.
>Getting this assblasted over nothing
Skyrim Digitally Remastered
>build a new PC just for MGSV
>the game ends up being disappointing as fuck
>start enjoying video games more since I end up going in with less expectations
I'm a cynical fucker as well
>build expensive gaming PC
>bought console for exclusives
>literally only played Runescape all year
Just buy a cheap key off a site like g2a. Yeah it's probably been used before but it makes no difference. I've used the same Win 7 on at least 10 PCs now and it never fails to activate and remain activated.
I need a disc to boot the computer you illiterate mongoloid
Hmm okay I'll look into STALKER. Looks like it needs to be modded, but I am dumb so that might not work out well.
Played Skyrim too many times...on 360.
OldSchool RuneScape I hope?
Make a bootable usb you dumb cunt. Install linux to get the media or use another PC, that is if you have friends.
Dragon's Dogma or Oblivion?
>I'll look into STALKER. Looks like it needs to be modded
No, it does not.
Where the fuck do people like you spawn from??
Here's a rookie guide. Consult and follow it, and you'll be fine.
Play in the release order. Start with no mods - only latest patch, OR get the full "Starter Pack" first; these contain bug-fixers and light visual mods that can help performance as well.
Leave big overhauls for later playthrougs. Avoid the "Complete" -mods. Always play on MASTER difficulty for best realism and atmosphere, and disable crosshair.
Don't give up in the beginning! The starting gear sucks ass and first area can be a bit boring.
Play good games, I thought I was suffering from the same thing but then I realized all the games I was trying to play were shit.
Name 2.
Nope. I have completionist cape in RS3.
Silent Hill 2
The Talos Principle
STALKER trilogy
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
Underhell: Chapter 1
Serious Sam 3: BFE
How am I going to make a bootable USB drive on a computer that can't boot you fucking retard
>Hurr just pirate windows on your friends computer
Know how I know you have no friends?
>old-ass laptop finally gives in
>have to buy a new one
>decent laptops are expensive as fuck
>buy a fairly decent PC for cheaps
>"finally I'll play all the cool games I couldn't play when I was a poorfag pothead teenager"
>get bored of all the shiny flashy games in a week or so
>go back to playing Dwarf Fortress
welp
>Always play on MASTER difficulty for best realism and atmosphere, and disable crosshair.
Don't listen to memesters who say to crank the difficulty to be hardcore.
Play on Master because the difficulty settings are LITERALLY BROKEN, and Master is the only "fair" difficulty. On "easier" difficulty settings, everyone has more health. Both you and enemies. It's more of a setting for how arcadey you want the game to be. Crank it if you wanna play it like it's oldschool Ghost Recon, set it to Novice if you prefer something more like Bioshock or Gears of War
Have you considered that you may just be autistic?
>Don't listen to memesters who say to crank the difficulty to be hardcore.
And did I say anything of the sort?
Obviously I was referring to the fact that higher difficulty = things die faster. Including you.
>On "easier" difficulty settings, everyone has more health.
No, it's just things do less damage + NPCs have far smaller hit-probability chance with their shots.
I'm in a similar situation. I spent a little over a grand and I realized how miserable it is playing on a tiny screen with a keyboard and mouse. It just sits there gathering dust. I just play on consoles now
I've just been streaming games these days
I'm pretty sure op is just trying to start a console war. because "pc" is just a really expensive console according to the underage masses on this board, and they enjoy copy/pasting stupid stupid shit so somebody will reply to them.
i injured my hand and couldn't play vidya for 3 entire weeks
after that even call of duty was fun for a short period
so basically kys
That's just retardation.
>built a computer a year ago
>use it everyday
>have played a multitude of games on it
yall are gay tbqh
>No, it's just things do less damage
net result is the same. and it doesn't affect weapon accuracy, only damage dealt/received.
play Doom OP
I felt the same way, I started to play Doom and it was fucking awesome
not OP, but I played Doom, and lost all faith in the modern gamers and their "tastes". Literally just another butchered AAA reboot of a classic game.
Serious Sam 3 did everything better.
you don't have a buddy/relative/library/university whose machine you can borrow for 15 minutes to make a quick bootable linux flash drive? that should be enough to bootstrap the process of getting Windows on your own machine by yourself if you aren't retarded. it must suck to be retarded, user. i feel for you.
it actually becomes easier because you have more chances of succesfully bandaging and healing yourself before dying
Yes I have and came to the conclusion that I might be on the 'tism scale.
Not too much though.
I function and all.
Use it to learn video editing and/or flash animation.
Then make dank WebMs.
Best life ever.
>own over 300 games on my Steam account but can't be assed because playing the Nioh demo on the PS4
At this point, I just own a PC just to play multi-platform games at better performance.
This won't do shit to real Alphas.
game?
This is a very strong fear I have. I'll spend two grand on box I will play nothing on. On the other hand it would be good box to donwork stuff on.
it's a shit game overrated and basically for retards
i cringed everytime i had to read something 2deep4u
Does that mean you'll leave? Because nobody wants to hear you whine. If you dont like vidya anymore, I'm sure one of the other boards would love to have you so hurry up and move on to your next hobby.
Have you tried making yourself play a game you bought? Just force yourself to boot it up and play it for no less then 20 minutes. If you're still not enjoying yourself by then, maybe you need a different game, more sleep, or you need a new hobby.
Talos
Just get into overclocking and benchmarking or modding. I find I have more fun tinkering with games than playing them now.
>2deep4u
I'm not seeing it
What part of this game was 2deep4u?
The plot is pretty thin, so no idea where you're getting it.
Serious Sam 3 is shit. The whole first third is trash, there's too many histscan enemies in general, resource management is more annoying than the previous games, and those fucking helicopters.
You can thank liberal ideologues for that.
and your age.
>not plugging your PC into your TV and playing with wireless keyboard and mouse
it's fucking comfy boys
Talos Principle.
Started playing it last month, totally love it to bits.
>Serious Sam 3 is shit. The whole first third is trash
Fuck you. It's superb from start to finish.
TSE = BFE > TFE > SS2
Are there any more Sup Forums lists like this for other games and genres?
I know that there's a silent hill one, but I don't care for it.

>want to build a PC since I'm on my laptop in nearly all my free time anyways
>would have to buy a new desk
>would have to buy shelves/some storage containers since losing storage of old desk

>would probably play games as often as I do now not often
I'll probably still do it once I get the scratch, but fuck is it a process
It's just human nature to enjoy the journey more than the destination. When you don't have something, you keep fantasizing about it and making plans, basically daydreaming. Then you get said thing, the novelty wears off really fast like it does for anything and you'll go back to daydreaming about something else. Rinse and repeat.
Planning upgrade paths for your PC is way more exciting than actually putting it to use, specially in this day and age where the only games that are demanding are cinematic console port garbage pandering to the lowest common denominator.
>don't have a desk
where the fuck do you use your laptop on?
>building a 2k pc

I've got this saved. Not really comparable to the STALKER one but w/e. There's also a DOOM one.
>Build a high end gaming PC
>Use it to watch Anime and play VNs
>In the next 5 years I'll have to upgrade to Microsoft Spyware 10, or use Linux.
Linux will be 10/10 in the next 5 years right? Game Devs will cater to it 100% right... RIGHT?!?!?!
And what else you play on it? Traditional pc gaming is fucking dead and buried. Once you've played the 90s classics and that's IF you're feeling like dealing with completely outdated controls, there's just nothing else.
I have a pc, ps4 and 3ds. The 3ds is a hot piece of overrated garbage with no games worth a shit and I play most of my games on my PC but they are always multiplats. I'm no graphics whore though and I'd enjoy them just the same playing on the ps4 so I kinda regret assembling an expensive pc. It's just too much fucking money for glorified prettier graphics you won't give a single fuck about while playing anything because it's not the fucking point. If anything, investing so much in PC gaming has only made gaming worse for me because back then I didn't even know what FPS standed for. I just didn't care. If the game was good, that's all that matters. Nowadays, when something drops from 60 fps I can instantly notice it and get buttblasted due to screen tearing in an industry where devs just don't give a fuck about optimization.
I should have just stayed on consoles with my toaster playing the actual worthwhile pc games, which are all from the 90s aside from Mount&Blade, and bought a huge ass tv and called it a day.
It's just too much time, effort and money going into such a pathetic hobby in the first place. It doesn't deserve this much dedication.
Even with vVlve shilling Linux hard, and companies releasing more and more Linux ports, it's market share is still non-existent. The year of the Linux desktop is never coming regardless of what Sup Forums says.
>Buy a VR headset
>Play for a few days and have fun

nice contrarian Sup Forums opinion
how on God's green earth is that comfortable?
nice meme
dumb frogposter
You can still put that computer to use.
>new games bore me
>start to think all games bore me now
>start playing old classics I missed out on as a kid
>fall in love with games again
AAA games just aren't for a lot of people.
I still play some new indie games that have the same feeling as some retro games.
Your bed isn't comfortable?
I usually change positions every hour
>assemble gaymans pc
>pc gaming is in the fucking shitter
>h-gaming is exploding into 90s vidya golden era levels of greatness
what a time to set system local to JP
>mfw I can't justify spending $80 on a video card to watch 1080p x265 hvec files
People always keep saying "blablabla nostalgia" but it's just false. In the rare occasion that we get games that are actual games like bloodborne or nioh, instead of shitty movies, I always fall in love with them. I also find myself constantly playing old stuff I missed and they completely blow the fuck out of me. Just last year I had finally started planescape torment for the first time and dear fucking god, what a monumental masterpiece of a game. Now THAT is a true rpg, instead of these cinematic pieces of garbage being hailed as the best thing ever. This year I also played system shock 2 for the first time and I just couldn't stop playing it. I completely fucked up my sleeping schedule because I missed an entire night's sleep playing it nonstop.
Modern gaming a fucking shit.
>build really good pc
>use it to watch Youtube videos, browse Sup Forums and play video games a few times a year
I completely agree. The real classics are remembered for a reason. They were also made when the industry was a lot different from what it is right now. Now, good games are still being released at a slower pace (for me personally Bloodborne, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, etc. are fucking great), but people forget that they still have a huge backlog of the best videogames ever made.
It's mostly people making a game to sell, and for higher ups telling people what to do.
People used to make video games that they themselves would like to play. You had teams like Rare or Black Isle that were barely big enough to get work done, and small enough that there weren't people higher up who NEEDED it to be a success so they took precautions, dumbed it down, appeal to everybody (which isn't a bad thing to do, but you don't appreciate it as much)
Fable is cool. I can play it, Fable II or Fable III any day, but there's not much to it. But I can spend exponentially more time in Diablo II
>buy a $5 Pentium 4 packing XP service pack 3 PC from a yard sale and pop in my old GeForce 6600 GT and hook it up to a CRT
There is no better feeling.
>bought some games like Dragon's Dogma and all the Dark Souls along with a few dungeon crawlers
>Vidya just feels draining, like I feel like I have to force myself to sit in front of my computer and that I don't look forward to it...
maybe that's because you ARE forcing yourself to play. what the fuck are you doing buying so many games at once?
>only 1 game coming out next year that I want to play
Indie gaming is the worst offender in this. Supposed to be the saving of the industry when it turned out to be even worse than aaa gaming.
This is the real problem here.
Steam sales are a dark pit. You go and "omg I'm gonna buy all these games!", then you find yourself overwhelmed and end up not playing anything.
Buy one game at a time. Play it, beat it if you liked, drop it if you don't, then move to something else. Don't spend your entire time just playing fucking video games as well.
I think the problem is you're depressed or somesuch, personally. I've found that when my life picks up my enjoyment of games increases dramatically as well.
