Why has no game tried to emulate MGS3 yet? meaning camouflage-based stealth gameplay

MGS4 did that.

2much work 4lazy AAA westerners, and indies

Because it's retarded.

western devs take the easy way out. if you're in a pre-determined "hidden zone" such as the shadows, bushes, etc. Then you are hidden the enemy. SOCOM was pretty fun with this though.

Octocamo was EZmode. Regardless there wasn't enough gameplay to even have much chance to really use it

Have you ever made a game?

Yes.

>Octocamo was EZmode
Going into a menu and picking the camouflage with the highest number isn't hardcore gameplay either.

Still in denial about MGSV, huh?

Camouflage didn't really add anything.
You always wanted the most optimal camo for your area, which required entering several menus. It was just tedious and didn't require any thought.

>thinking spending time in mutiple of menus in order to pick a camo, that will need to be changed after a new area, is hard or better
Kys

because turning on invisibility via a menu was a pretty shit stealth mechanic?

>post completely irrelevant image of american flag just to flaunt their patriotism
americans I swear...

installing unity doesn't count user

MGSV did an excellent job, if only it wasn't for the stupid fucking stealth suit that made 100% of all other camos irrelevant. The only 2 relevant ones were stealth and battle.

The charm of the game wasn't just the camo, but everything; the jungle, the survival aspect, the cold-war setting, doing away with the radar, the fantastic codec conversations, being on your own. Unmatched game.

There's nothing fun about constantly having a navigate a bunch of menus

>MGS takes away permanent always-on radar
>Game gets more tense and fun

>MGSV brings back an even worse system with wallhacks
>Game suddenly gets piss easy

because that would require actual effort

it's simple to copy-paste mechanics and rush the game out

>use optional easy mode shit for casuals
>complain about game being too easy

For that picture
>e3 2017

Awesome, but we are talking about camouflage here. MGS4 improved an already shallow mechanic by not making you go into the menu every time you want to change it.

Turn off the on-screen markers and rely on your i-droid to keep track of marked enemies. It's pretty intense.

This is the same argument as
>W-Well don't use fast travel in Skyrim...retard!!
>It's not like the game was DESIGNED around the feature being used...Surely you'll get a 100% ideal experience not using it ever!

>he's never played a jrpg

Unity did not exist when I made my first games

RPG maker games aren't real games.

What I don't like is if a new game has less features then the previous one. TPP has the least functions

>no footprints to be considered (MGS)
>no proper use of camouflage or face painting (MGS3)
>no healing system (MGS3)
>no supervision of soldier assignment required (PW)
>no proper boss battles in which you have to figure out how to beat them (MGS1,2,3,4)

>being triggered by an American flag

Watch out. There's a new trend of fucking faggot 3deep5u retards claiming

>THE GAME WAS BAD ON PURPOSE BECAUSE KOJIMA WANTED TO MAKE THE PLAYER FEEL EMPTY AND DISSATISFIED BECAUSE HE SAID REVENGE LEAVES YOU DEAD INSIDE AND HE WANTED THE FANS TO FEEL WHAT BIG BOSS FEELS YEAH TOTALLY THAT'S WHY THE STORY IS SO BAD, IT'S BECAUSE IT'S CLEVER!

>muh menu based saturday morning cartoon
3 fags are cancer.

Am I the only one who liked the menus in 3?

I always fancied it a menu-based James Bond film. But one of the actors no one can remember right off the bat.

I enjoyed the food and cure menus. Especially when you go the Survival Viewers. Never looked into what triggered them.

Do you enjoy filing your taxes too?
