Thinking on get my first PC and i need opinions
My specs:

Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H
Intel Core i5-4460
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB 1600mhz
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
MSI Radeon RX 470 4GB Gaming X
Case Corsair SPEC-03
EVGA 500W 80+

Everything fits perfectly in my budget so i think i took the right decisions.

Did you already purchase everything? If not what is your budget so people can actually make recommendations.

Just the motherboard
my budget is around 600 bucks

Don't. PC gaming is a scam. Buy a console of your choice; any of them will do.

720p? 30fps? No thanks...

I see no real issues.

Personally, I would go WD over seagate and Gskill over Kingston, but these are just my personal preferences, nothing objective. I've been told Sapphire is best for AMD, but I don't know much about AMD and trust MSI as well so you should be fine there.

You should be doing 1080p 60FPS at max in most games with this build so I hope the monitor you plan on using is 60Hz.

an rx 470 is so close to the 480 it's a joke, the 480 is so much better there's no competition.
Save up for another month and get an rx 480

Buy everything but the gpu and then lurk on craigslist for a week. I helped my brother build his first rig and he was able to find 2 gtx 970s for $125 each.

Do not get AMD. It's not worth the trouble.

>Buying a PS3
Console parity as well as the horrible amount of setup just to get games working is laughable

I had the same i5, get one with a 1151 socket for easier upgrade.

don't recommend a seagate, hear those have substantial failure rate. i use a wd black 1 terabyte which has worked pretty well

I'm not able to pay more I've already waited couple of months to get better components so i think i'm done

With a setup like this you'll feel a need for upgrade in a couple of months after you find out that most modern games can't keep up stable 60 fps on the console image quality

I'd recommend saving up some more and go with i7 and GTX1070 for 1080p gaming

Also, for some games 16 gigs of ram is a mist to avoid stuttering

>you find out that most modern games can't keep up stable 60 fps on the console image quality
1070 is overkill, thats a 4k gpu, nice meme console kid

>ps3 talking about RROD
cmon man
everyone knows its the YLOD

I built a memecard i54690k combo because everyone on Sup Forums was assuring me it's a solid future proof for 1080p@60fps gaming.
And it wasn't. In a year or two 1070 will become a norm for that.

>i5
>master race
>kek

what gpu? and what games could you not play? note; low settings is still higher than console quality.

i5 has to do with cores, not speed. an i3 of the same build of an i7 will perform at exactly the same speed because most applications don't utilize more than two cores. that said i5 will likely get the same performance as an i7 for cheaper.

I told, it's a memecard. Games like Witcher 3, GTAV, Rise of Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3 all stutter like hell in some instances.

>low settings is still higher than console quality.

Having both the ps4 and pc, I can assure you that it's a complete bullshit.
The main benefit is in framerate, console versions are always a mix of medium and high settings

>I told, it's a memecard
that means nothing. also would you have happened to have been sitting right in front of your screen on console? because do that and enjoy 15 fps with draw distance as far as i could throw a baseball. if you sat down on your couch with a controller playing those games on pc you wouldnt even notice those stutters either

>that means nothing
Literally everyone on Sup Forums knows it's 970.

And I have both my console and the pc connected to the monitor. The topic wasn't about the platform wars anyway so I'm not sure why you're deflecting.

i thought you were talking about the 750 or ati 360. the 970 should still be perfectly acceptable for 1080p though i don't understand what could possibly be wrong

Not even a 1080 can run a game at high quality at 4k 60 frames. They're VR cards, not 4k yet.

Why the eff would you get a Haswell i5 when you can afford a Skyake i5 6500 for just a couple of tens more?

yeah well on pcs, high isn't always made for the highest consumer cards on the market. see crysis or the new deus ex for a recent example. most games however can run 30 fps high 4k just fine

You're right, it's so close like 90-95% of the RX480, why spend the extra $30-50

For your PSU get something modular. You wont regret it.

Welp the Rx470 isn't suffering from the Gimpworks and the crippling 3.5gb fast + 512mb slow VRAM.

Better Dx12 and Vulkan support as well.

>mainstream i7
>1070

bish please, get at least a 6950x and the newer Titan X

There's still no reason to get an i7 for gaming. Yes, a stock 6700k is better than a 6600k in games, however the 6600k overclocks so absurdly well it can almost completely make up the difference in most games. The only advantage the i7 offers is better minimum framerates but that shouldn't matter unless you're pushing 4k or something, plus $100 for slightly better minimums isn't worth it unless you want to burn money.

It's always way cooler and more power efficient, You shouldn't buy old CPU's unless you have a really good reason to, or you can find them used for dirt cheap.

Ditch the Seagate drive and get a HGST, they have the lowest failure rates.

Future proofing doesn't exist. There's not a single card that can run 100% of games maxed out at 1080p. Blowing all your money trying to run ultra on every game is retarded. A 1070 for 1080p/60 is retarded regardless of Deus Ex meme AA settings.

if OP's buying new, he kinda fucked up.

Skylake is way better if you're building new rigs.
>more efficiency
>better upgradebility
>5-10% better over Haswell, >15-20% over Sandy
>them >2000-3000mhz DDR4 RAM, newer games really benefit from it
>up to 10-15fps increase jumping from just 2133 to 2666 with an i3 6100, paired with the older Titan X
>other shitload of improvements typical mainstream consumers / gamers wont actually need for at least another 2 years

If Im short on money Id still settle with the i3 6100, Ddr4 on Skylake is a game changer with newer games, unlike when it first debuted exclusively on the older x99 chipset when even a Ddr3 1333 vs a Ddr4 3200 made virtually no improvements in games (1-2fps, with the highest end i7 5xxx)

fuck off, segates are probably currently the most popular drives
and no mater the product, some will be fucked, even a bucket you buy might have a hole in it

>most popular

Western Digital said hi

can you specify which psu you're getting? You really don't want to cheap out on a psu.

no fucking shit you brand loyalist but the highest percentage of failed drives belongs to seagate for 1 terabyte

>survey data ;)
fuck off kid

hmm

oh look at that, all from black blaze who use anonymous online surveys instead of tests
surely they must be true, who dosnt trust anonymous online polls

why don't you prove me wrong instead of claiming every statistic available anywhere is wrong

Maybe that's because Seagate is the most bought brand of hard drives. More hard drives = more reports of failure.

My 1tb Seagate I had for 5 years is prettyshit though. It wasnt even my boot drive, but it caused bluescreens.

lol mfw hgst is a wd company

percentages don't rely on popularity

>falling for the gaming ram meme

I'm pretty sure the main advantage of DDR4 is being able to run at 1.35v. You will not notice a difference between DDR4 2133 cl11 and DDR3 1600 cl9. DDR4 and any ram above 1600mhz price/performance is a waste of money. You can even overclock most DDR3 to 1866mhz cl9 if you really want to, just don't go over 1.65v

Why not get something like this

8gb ram on the video card is better
