Absolutely no one.
Why not? Too complex of a game?
because it's casualized sjw shit.
I thought summer break was over?
Literally how?
le dank sumerfags mammay ;)
how's Sup Forums nowadays?
I am. Just played a few civ 5 games this weekend with a friend. The more I play 5 the more I want to play 6.
>hype
manchild
I know someone who works on the game so yeah I'm excited to see what it's like
>cartoon style shit
into the trash it goes
how progressive
it being casualized is the only real concern, it being sjw doesn't affect the mechanics although the graphics looked closer to civ rev than a new civ
What we're not even supposed to look forward to games now?
you are, but you just shouldn't get overly excited like a 7 year old
moderation is key
Have you seen anything on it? It ways do you think it is being casualized?
most civ fans here are probably at least a little hyped, but the only threads that get attention are the civ reveal ones, which is where most discussion takes place
>mfw preordered months ago
>mfw didn't learn my lesson from Beyond Earth
who /viral marketer/ here?
How do you know I am getting "overly excited like a 7 year old"?
>Preordered BE
I got a bottle of piss by my desk. Would you like to preorder that too?
i was hoping they would make civ 6 more realistic in the design, but so far i haven't looked at anything about it
H-how much?
>Mfw I got Beyond Earth for free because of a Target promotion
So glad I didn't spend money on it
it keeps happening
I'm just kidding you can't have it. I don't know how to post anything that's not a letter or card.
you're using the word "hype"
Looks fun. I'm debating on getting it though. Might suffer from Civ 5 syndrome and need two or three expacs before it gets good enough for sustained play.
...
>cartoon style shit
This. It is like the devs were sitting at their studio with literally no idea what the fuck should they do. Beyond Earth was utter shit, so they decided to make a cartoon game for children. Every single world leader seems like mickey mouse.
>finally getting into Dominions 4
I won't be able to go back to Civ, will I lad?
How new are you?
I've been here for years.
The word "hype" is stupid and makes everyone sound like a child.
Stop using it.
could you please explain how it is being casualized? if anything it looks more complex than civ 5
To be fair, it seems as if Firaxis has learned their lesson with Beyond Earth and other similar ventures. Civ VI looks like a whole game on release, and not just sum of its parts, even though it offers DLC.
this
>because it's casualized sjw shit.
HOW!?
Everything they have said so far factually makes it LESS casualised than CIV5
I am hype as fuck OP!
Can't wait to nuke cunts then para-drop in.
I'm hype for you to go back to rebbit.
Look man I don't like a lot of words used in common English vernacular today, but I'm not autistic enough to actually try to police other people's language unless I'm editing a paper for someone.
>Kongo
>Civilization
I mean, i guess there WAS... some sort of civilization before the belgians came, but what did they make ?
Is there a single board on Sup Forums that isn't overrun with Sup Forums manchildren? It's impossible to have a discussion about anything around here. Fuck it.
I see Civ 6 is going to be your first Civ game
Aren't you underage by any chance?
I really disliked how some of the economy and city stuff turned out in 5, I hope they correct that
(also the fact while the combat system was better, the AI was too retarded too utilize it)
Is it still 1upt? Then no
>Sup Forums should stop using stupid words
wew

I dunno man, read this and tell me.
it isn't actually
>This ad brought to you by Facebook
>I see Civ 6 is going to be your first Civ game
The fuck you on about? Been here since 3 nigger.
They made pots and cloth...
Thats it.
>but what did they make ?
They made lots of really cool art.

Must resist buying at launch and get the cushy game of the year edition in next summers sale.
And yet you are surprised that they bring less relevant, more exotic civilizations despite the fact that it has been done since Civ 1?
They had some funky stuff going on with the Portuguese. They were alternately best buds and bitter enemies.
Not to mention the Italians, who allied with Kongolese Christians against the Portuguese to help establish Central Africa as its own independent Primacy apart from Portugal. The Portuguese didn't want to train any Kongolese as clergymen, which the Pope disagreed with.
>They made lots of really cool art.
So did everyone else on the planet, apart from Middle-easterners and Indians.
Look man, I understand you're retarded, but if you're going to sit down and think the only thing this kingdom contributed was pots and cloth, you're insane. They have a long history, an interesting relationship with the Portuguese, who they supplied huge numbers of slaves to, they eventually came into establishing the Republic of Kongo and they produced art - a lot of art. To quote the article:
The Kongo peoples are divided into many subgroups including the Yombe, Beembe, Sundi, and others but share a common language, Kikongo. These groups have many cultural similarities, including that they all produce a huge range of sculptural art. The most notable feature of this region’s figurative style is the relative naturalism of the representation of both humans and animals. "The musculature of face and body is carefully rendered, and great attention is paid to items of personal adornment and scarification. Much of the region’s art was produced for social and political leaders such as the Kongo king."
Yeah fuck that I'm not paying fifty quid plus all this DLC shit. I have too many games unplayed already anyway.
I made better "art" in 3rd grade.
No.
Civ 5 was an incredible disappointment, which by itself would not condemn the sequel, but the trouble is the fanbase (including you faggots) do not perceive Civ 5 to be an incredible disappointment. They think it's amazing, so the developers have no incentive to do anything about it.
whats your point ?
the graphics look like civ rev
You literally proved my point.
They made nothing.
"Cool" (subjective) art
Cloth and pots
Who gives a shit, come back when you actually construct something that betters humanity or invent something.
Otherwise stay in your fucking jungle and get dicked on by Europeans.
i was just pointing out your ignorance
and what does it have to do with gameplay?
I don't like the art style.
>£50 for a PC game
I'm hyped to pirate it and buy it when it's a reasonable price.
>the graphics look like civ rev
This effects the gameplay how ?
That has nothing to do with the mechanics of the game.
>Egypt has Cleopatra
>not Ramses II, or Hatshepsut/Nefertiti if you want a female leader
>Sparta has gorgo
>we get literally a queen who did NOTHING and is only known because she was Leonidas I's wife instead of Cleomenes II or Leonidas himself
>France gets Catherine of Medici
>kek
>Pedro II doesn't look like a brazillian santa anymore
they really fucked up with some of the leaders in this game
I mean seriously, Cleopatra? Are you kidding me? All she accomplished was being a greedy, ambitious whore whose stupid decisions led to the Ptolemaic dynasty being wiped out and Egypt becoming a Roman province
>Ignorance
About what? I haven't said anything to be ignorant about, pleb.
Do you guys think Civ 3 is a worth a buy?
I got into the series via Civ 5 and found myself quickly addicted, then based on recommendations I'm going to buy Civ 4+Beyond the Sword expansion. Just wondering about Civ 3 now.
>who they supplied huge numbers of slaves to
Ayo fuq u white boi we wuz peaceful b4 u crackaz came over we dint do no slave shit nigga
You've got a very childish understanding of history, my dude. You should read Oxford's 'History: A Very Short Introduction' written by John H. Arnold, as well as The Oxford Handbook of African Archaeology, edited by Mitchell and Lane. Hopefully it'll correct some of your misunderstandings about historical geopolitics and historiography.
Yes I'm hyped. I'm eager to see what they did to improve the AI. Anything has to be better than what we were given in V.
The less realistic graphics don't bother me because I'm not fucking 12 although I'm not a fan of the lack of color outside of unit and city FOV.
What if it's protected by the mighty denovo though? What then?
In my opinion, Civ 3 is the best Civ out there for multiplayer purposes.
I don't understand single player civ and people who play it. I don't understand simultaneous turns multiplayer either. I pretend like these two don't exist.
Civ 3 is perfect for multiplayer because it's complex enough to create amazing situations, but simple enough to be fluid so you don't have to wait an eternity for your turn.
Still not proving that they contributed anything to the world.
There only interesting point is that the Europeans had contact with them, if thats all they got, they got shit.
acquire Civ 4 or Civ 2
You're so retarded it hurts. I told you what they made, if you don't value it, that's your prerogative, and a failing of your ability to appreciate to incredibly varied history of the human race.
Historians seem to care an awful lot what they did. In much the same way they care an awful lot about smaller civilizations that have done less. At their very core, this civilization provided the same thing every civilization does: another square in the patchwork of history.
Clearly, the Civilization devs also care about representing civs other than the big ticket ones everyone has come to expect because it provides a unique experience.
Don't confound stateside idiocy with the actual history of the African continent.
I fell for the Beyond Earth meme, they won't get me again.
Then I'll wait for it to be cracked or go on sale for a price that isn't fucking outrageous.
Gotta take a stand on this shit here and now. If big publishers like 2k even get a whiff that PC users will pay that much for games other publishers will follow suit.
I think civ 3 is only really worth it for a) nostalgia or b) your only gaming computer is actually like a photocopier or smart fridge or something
...
>Still not proving that they contributed anything to the world.
I'm trying to tell you that this is a completely silly way to look at history. Historians don't use language like this or make judgements like this.
You should read some John K. Thornton, he's the foremost historian in dealing with pre-colonial Central Africa. You can find his work 'Warfare in Atlantic Africa, 1500-1800' for free online. It's pretty good, one of my professors was a peer reviewer for it.
remove kikongo
>About what?
About Civilization series, despite you claiming you have known them for a long time
He's either baiting or from Sup Forums, which in itself is a form of bait, best to just ignore the fag.
>a unique experience.
OF WHAT!?
YOU'LL HAVE DONE EVERYTHING BY TURN 10!
You're wasting your time. Most posters here have a really juvenile thought process and buy directly into aesthetic values. If they didn't do anything huge that impacted the whole world, they don't matter, at least in the minds of these idiots.
Why would anyone care that Africans were just sitting around talking and making cloth and pots when the rest of the fucking world has been doing that for the past 5000 years.
Who literally gives a shit besides some fucking nerd like you.
Just stop, you are clearly arguing with some Sup Forumstard who thinks there should be 6 Europan civs, USA, China and Japan, and everything else is irrelevant
fuck off back to Sup Forums
Alright, I chuckled.
I think I missed the memo, what do you mean?
Historians do. People that are interested in the history of their species do. It'd help if more people cared about history, and didn't see it as a race to see who makes the biggest splash. The shit has already happened, might as well learn about it, as the movers and shakers of the present are going to keep doing so anyway. Fucking ignorant cunt.
It's more like a refined 1UPT.
I was expecting shit but Marbozir and Filthy seem to like it.
I guess this is time I could better spend doing something else
I'll go play video games or something
>Calling someone a nerd on Sup Forums
Whew
I like Marbozir but his accent is so unpleasant to listen to.
>tfw soon we'll have another 5 hour long tier list video from filthy
can't wait for release
