I recently beat Romancing SaGa 2 (couldn't wait for the Vita version to come out so I just played it on Bluestacks) and I really enjoyed the game.
I'm looking for another game with similar gameplay and I heard this one plays much like SaGa.
Christopher Martin
I tried playing it last year. Never again. Never. Again.
Carson Roberts
soundtrack is really good, the Japanese gave it really high scores but in the west it got average shit reviews
never played that much but I love the main character and sister designs, everyhting else is pretty bad
voice acting is good sometimes and anime awful(twin sisters) other times
get the PC version it is far superior than the 360 one
Thomas Sanders
I liked it. Emmy>emma
Jaxon Hall
How do you even play this shit? I don't understand whats going on.
Ryan Lopez
I liked it but it's too complicated for its own good. Really wish there was a chance for a sequel, the combat system had potential.
Austin Carter
People call it the Dwarf Fortress of JRPGs because the complexity of the subsystems that exist (there are a ton) are completely hidden and not available for the player to see at any point.
Jack Fisher
Is it more complex than SaGa? I thought SaGa was pretty easy versus the reputation it gets.
Then again RS2 is one of the more beginner friendly ones I think.
Gavin Barnes
Love the way they executed the combat system, especially in larger scale combat. Story is meh but the game is enjoyable regardless. Lots of extremely challenging optional content.
On the negative side, the leveling/skill system is incomprehensible without a guide (you can still get through the game, but you won't know what the fuck you are doing), and the squad/unit caps feel awfully restrictive, even in the end game.
James Foster
it's a good game. don't grind.
Jack Rogers
Thats unfair, there are resources to learn how to play DF in their site, similar to old games that couldn't afford to have an in-game tutorial so the game came with a manual. There is nothing like it in TLR, NPCs explain some stuff to you but a lot of vital information is left unexplained to the player. That said, this doesn't really mean the game is bad, it's just inaccessible for new players.
Gavin Bell
The battle system is retarded
Nathan Rivera
Riddled with retarded mechanics that are never explained. Wish it was better desu. Lack of high production value JRPGs on steam.
Joshua Diaz
Will the Romancing Saga games ever get translated ?
Carter Harris
I had to throw myself at the difficulty curve a couple times before I got stuck in, but after that it was a pretty great game, albiet a rather flawed one. Being able to manually equip/upgrade your party's shit would be nice.
Dominic Murphy
I end up trying to play it every couple of months. Emphasis on try.
Lincoln Johnson
RS2 got translated. It's coming out on Vita.
It's also now out on mobile (I played it on bluestacks)
Matthew Perez
It's got major flaws coming out of every orifice but it still ended up being a really enjoyable experience I stopped trying to figure out the game mechanics and just went the flow. I guess I loved how fucking retarded the battle and party system was and that just carried me through it. Watching each turn play out was fun and the soundtrack really sells it I like it in a similar way that I like Deadly Premonition. Most of the game's execution is dog shit but it is charming enough and has enough good ideas to become endearing.
Jeremiah Gray
This. You just gotta embrace the problems and enjoy it for what it is.
Hunter Brown
>Is it more complex than SaGa? I thought SaGa was pretty easy versus the reputation it gets. The only really complex SaGa game mechanics-wise is Unlimited SaGa, then SaGa Frontier 2 has a pretty convoluted (but great) magic system. For the rest of the entries, as long as you spark decent techs and keep your LP high you are set.
>Then again RS2 is one of the more beginner friendly ones I think. The SNES version of The Seven Heroes is pretty hard, maybe they toned it down on the mobile version.
Caleb Jenkins
I beat the Seven Heroes using Quicktime (Hasten Time in the mobile version).
I heard that exploit works in the SNES version too.
Alexander Walker
Also they included a new bonus boss that is immune to that spell, so in some ways its harder.
I haven't bothered to beat the optional boss because it pretty much nullifies anything good my party could do.
Isaac Bailey
I remember playing this game as a teenager and had tons of fun with it. Play it user.
Jaxson Cox
I'm so glad sonyggers will never get to play this game, this is what they get for being the most obnoxious and cancerous fanbase on Sup Forums.
This is one of the first games that started this trend to bring japanese games to the superior plataform, PC/STEAM.
Jackson Nelson
They'll get to play SaGa: Scarlet Grace though.
it's only coming to Vita. And probably Japan only. I hate this.
Jeremiah Scott
It's really unfortunate that the game didn't do so well.
The early-ish PS3 era was the last time we seriously got a real console JRPG. Everything's moved to handhelds, at best. At worst, nothing's getting released at all.
