What is your typing speed?
If it's below 70 WPM you shouldn't own a computer

Says who? A random shitposter on Sup Forums?
Bill Gates
49 wpm
I can do that, I can definitely get a job with 50WPM.
>job has a 85 WPM requirement
>Words Per Minute
>Home rows
Why were school computer classes so fucking worthless?
>84 WPM
>Never learned home row
I wonder how fast I would be if I typed properly.
The fuck is home row
100wpm with like 3 fingers, i wish i learned to type properly because then i could probably do some stupid fast wpm
50 WPM with 4 fingers.
>Your score: 511 CPM (that is 102 WPM)
this isn't even useful for me
92wpm, apparently.
asdfghjkl;
you probably use home row without realizing it
most fast typers naturally hover their hands above asdfjkl;
Nah user you're good.
In school I was whacked over the head to use the home row and that everything else is wrong. It just makes typing needlessly complicated.
I dont understand what the problem is typing the way that's most comfortable to you.

Hands on ASDF/JKL;, fingers always returning after each key press. I honestly don't type this way and scored 87 WPM. I only stumble after mistakes that require backspaces, which are honestly easier to just fix after writing everything and proofreading (which you should be doing anyway).
How exactly is typing random fucking words a practical means of determining WPM?
I type random words at 75 WPM, but can clean an essay at around 105 WPM
I got 91 WPM.
55 in my native language, 65 in english. im shit at typing but i type in english more than my own language (Dutch). I just got a new (pretty shit) keyboard though, so maybe that slows me down too.
This is where my fingers are
>Been teaching myself touch typing these past few weeks
>Still have issues reaching the keys below the home row comfortably
For some reason, my fingers just don't want to bend quickly or precisely enough.
Typeracer is arguably the greatest game.
>tfw 30
I should just kill myself
Guess that kind of makes sense if you play a lot of video games. WASD are probably important to you.
I play consoles
fucking nerf space bar bullshit
l always get a lower score than l should because l do weird shit like use lower case L's for uppercase i's to save time
apart from that last time l checked around 95wpm
Whatever floats your boat then, man. I got in lots of trouble in school typing the way I do even though my WPM was higher than the instructor's. I'm an oldfag, though, and that was nearly 14 years ago my freshman year of high school.
I had this problem when I had to learn touch typing in school.
Don't be afraid to remove your fingers from the home row. Mine kind of just hover over it and its a lot more comfortable.
I don't understand how it's possible to use a computer if you have 50wpm or less. Everything would take so long to type that I would rather just swipe on my cellphone.
I got 92
...
I can type up to 80 if I know how to spell everything I'm typing, otherwise I average at like 60. My gf types at around 120, 140 since I gave her a black widow keyboard.
post gf's boipucci
Should I show you my fiance's instead?
homerow is for gays
Meh
I move my hands rather than bend my fingers much.
sitting your fingers on home row is only good so you know where keys are at general to the position of your hands.
Once you muscle memory where all the keys are your hands can float all over the keyboard making faster typing because you don't have to do these awkard finger flexes.
like 98WPM, I hunt n' peck with my pointers only w/ very few mistakes.
Anyone else typeracer?
