Note: That's a CDX, a Mega Drive/Genesis and Sega CD console using a standard DB-9 pin arrangement.

Saturn uses its own (I believe proprietary) controller port.

those 9 pin ports are for genesis controllers. idk whats up with that picture, but that's a cdx which is just a compact genesis/sega cd combo system. Not sure about compatibility with everything but i do know that genesis pads work on atari 2600s which have the same 9-pin adapters.

No 32X support on the cdx apparently, not like anything good was released for the 32X.

It does work, just not officially and you have to be careful with it since it doesn't have a proper spacer to support it.

The Genesis 3 is the one that actually doesn't support the 32X, and even that can be modded to fix that incompatibility. It looks even sillier than the CDX does with it though.

It would cost you like $200 to one shot buy all 30 games and the console off ebay.

The sound quality of the Megadrive has been greatly underappreciated.
This is mainly due to the Model 2 Megadrive having a completely shit cheap soundchip that made games sound tinny, muted and in mono.
The Model 1s played the music just fine.

Composers(especially Konami) that really took their time with the Genesis/Megadrive soundchip could made some really incredible music.

It literally takes 10 minutes to write the image to an SD card, plug it in and config it.
Then you can either transfer the ROMs via wifi or from an USB stick.
It's piss easy.

You've got a bit of the opposite going on here, since you're taking a port/reinterpreting of an arcade game that uses a somewhat similar synth to the Genesis. The Genesis has much more accurate instruments, but just doesn't have the same body as the CPS2 or SNES versions, primarily due the drums/percussion.

I'd kill for an arcade version of Turtles in Time redone to have the SNES version's levels.
