Also if you are so worried about your character you can always make a new character. then delete your old one. As long as you still have a character in your roster you shouldn't lose anything.

You have to fight 3 time patrollers at once. Levels being mostly random.

It is a "chance" at a maximum of 3 dragon balls.
Some people think it is faster to get dragon balls by making new characters and fighting a NPC that gives you one near the start of the game. But that takes like 30 mins per ball.
If you are lucky you could easily get 7 balls in 40 mins.
Not like X1 where you could do the same stage 400 times in a row and only get 4 dragon balls at best.
