Independent light and heavy attack stats.
This is interesting to me, because what we know of the combat so far is that weapons can be freely assigned to the two attack commands (Square and Triangle).
Having actual "light" and "heavy" stats external to the equipped weapons suggests that which button you equip a weapon to changes which of its attacks you can use, not unlike Bayonetta.
Adds a little bit to the depth of the game when short sword / greatsword and greatsword / short sword are different loadouts.

I agree, but Transformers Devastation's weapon synthesis system was way more fun than I expected so I'll reserve judgment until I see it in action.
If it's "gather the bullshit, follow the recipe" it will suck. If it's "gummi ship gear legos" I'll love it.

And as long as it's "stats tetris", it's actually a lot of fun; you can attach X number of components to your weapon, components have various advantages and disadvantages (+Atk Speed / -Atk Str, Ability: Charge Strike / - Atk Speed, etc) and you have to decide which combination of parts to use.
It's only recipe-based crafting that sucks, and we don't know what "Materials" are used for at all, only that they exist
