Ok. I'll try not to be a shitlord anymore by buying games at full price so those poor multi-billion dollar corporations don't suffer.
You might as well pirate at that point, to be honest. When it comes to discounted games, they get so little back that it doesn't matter much.
Everyone supposedly loved Alien Isolation, but the majority of its sales were from discounts, and Sega have basically declared it to be a disappointment.
>discounts that a company creates are entitlements of the consumers
?
So... is waiting for holiday sales, or sales in general, considered consumer entitlement?
?? So I guess having anything discounted is entitlement?
...
expecting your game to sell well because you tried really hard when making it is developer entitlement
Why do people reply to obvious bait threads like this?
>disgusting fake tits
Good thing I just pirate instead of waiting
Sales in the first few months are what matter the most, when it comes to whether a game gets a sequel, or is considered a success or not. If a game took a long time to accumulate its money, or gained a lot of money purchases through sales, publishers would see it as a risk, especially if the pattern carries through on a sequel.
Pirating is for poorfags. Sales are for frugal consumers.
I pirate most of my games but I like to wait for a sale for game engines because those communities will sperg out if they hear somebody didn't pay for their engine. They do hate discountfags too, but not as much as piratefags.
>frugal customers
I think you mean jews
Being self aware of your own / others peoples entitlement is entitlement itself.
Prove me wrong.
Yes I'm entitle to buy with my money when I want without having to think about anythng else. problem?
>buying singleplayer games
Indeed, every gamer IS entitled to it, since the games are sold in on the free market.
Pretending that the producer is entitled to the full price is just retardation on your part, I presume, since this thread stikes me as very contra-discount.
...
If not being an idiot is being a jew, then shalom, my dear moron.
And? There's nothing wrong with that.
So you might just as well steal clothes instead of waiting the prices cuts?
You truly are a fucking retard.
>Sup Forums argues with a comic sans image
>wanting to pay less for a product is a bad thing
good little goy
>entitlement
This is why the video game industry isn't taken seriously.
Spiraling of discounts buy brigador it's on sale
Yes, for all that it matters when it comes to big businesses. 500k people could buy a game, but if it was discounted, that amounts to almost nothing. Early, full price sales are what truly matter as far as whether a game can be considered a success or a flop.
A lot of PC game customers have adopted the Guybrush Threepwood philosophy, and they won''t buy a game unless it's on sale. Thus, publishers put games on sale because it's expected and the only way to sell them.
That said, any publisher complaining can eat shit. Consumers' views on what items are worth can change over time, and the seller just has to adapt.
Same reason I laugh at anyone in the music industry complaining that no one pays for digital music. Sometimes view of value can even drop to near zero. Adapt and make money in different ways.
YOU WOULDN'T BUY A USED CAR
I don't even know what the word entitlement means.
Ehhhh, I could see the argument for this, but making them in the first place is entirely a matter for developers and their salespeople. They don't want gamers to take the products on sales? Stop putting them on sales.
>So you might just as well make an unpaid copy of clothes instead of waiting the prices cuts?
Fixed.
>stealing clothes
>not just going to a thrift shop and buying an entire season's worth of clothes for the same price as a single pair of jeans at a department store
Not to mention there a plenty of players in ex-communist countries who cannot afford the games at launch price.
Game comes out, dlc is added, another dlc is added, then the game of the year version comes out. See if I bought a game like skyrim on the console I would had to buy it again when the hd version came out.
But actually I didn't buy either cause skyrim is a piece of shit.
That sounds like an article in a Polygon/Gawker-type site
> Not getting a 100% Discount from TPB.
And publishers and developers expecting their customers to immediately pre-order and pay full price on every lazy rehash and yearly iteration of the same game over and over again is THEIR entitlement.
It goes both ways.
A lot of games nowadays are setting release prices way above what they're worth though. It's not my fault they fucked up.
>buying a product at whatever the seller puts it is entitlement
???
It doesn't go both ways in capitalism. There's no such thing as acceptable anti-corporate behavior from consumers. Corporations are expected and obligated to be as anti-consumer as possible.
I guess waiting for grocery stores to have sales is entitlement too.
Good.
I was asking myself the same thing, you are praised for saving money on literally everything but video games, like those are the only thing people work hard on.
