Remember when Crytek made a game that took full advantage of PC hardware? It's never happened since and will probably never happen again.
Remember when Crytek made a game that took full advantage of PC hardware...
how are the gog releases?
> It's never happened since and will probably never happen again.

A game that will always outspend it's budget. Yeah. It will never come out.
Remember when it became the most pirated PC game of all time so devs decided not to bother with PC exclusivity?
I bet you don't.
that's the whole industry while consoles exist, only some indie developers would do games for PC first so any big game have to take consoles huge limitations into account.
no use making a game that requires the best fucking pc in existence if most people don't have one.
+2000 bucks worth of parts just for one game is insane
>outspend it's budget
>people are still buying ships with no sign of slowing down
>budget keeps growing
nope, it won't outspend its budget
delet this
DELET THIS
>most pirated PC game of all time
>Also one of the best selling games of all time
No because PC piracy has been an issue since the mid 1980's. From copying cassettes to floppies to CD's and so on. PC exclusive titles were always there despite piracy.
If it didn't make most of those sales in the first few months of release, it barely matters.
>the most pirated PC game of all time

of wait, you don't have one
It won't come out. But if it does it will be hailed as one of the biggest disappointments there ever was. That's PC gaming. You can't make a cutting edge game for it like crysis because it will never meet it's budget.
>Game has DRM so publishers trick as many dumb faggots as they can into buying half-assed shit
Yeah, those kind of games barely matter.
>It's never happened since and will probably never happen again.
lol... ok?!?
>one game
You can use your pc more than once buddy boy
I use mine every day
That's not the point. You interpreted it incorrectly.
I'm playing through it right now
The water blows me the fuck away
>very light chromatic aberration near the surface, only time you'll see it in the game except when you get EMP'd
>the waves actually roll like real waves
>godrays through the water
So beautiful.
looks like shit though
Never ever btw
I don't think the game is that great btw. It's kind of a Halo ripoff. But the graphics were insane when it came out.
fucking Unreal magic
Remember when they focused on console and Crysis 2&3 sold like shit?
I'm pretty sure Spore was pirated more.
Why hasn't anyone tried to make a new Spore containing everything that was promised by the original?
Because no one was gonna budget it.
>it's kind of a halo ripoff
>fighting korean terrorist on a paradise island using super powers and throwing chickens at them
>halo ripoff
??????????!?????
They did.
PC games don't have much longevity, even when it comes to sequels. Grimrock 2 for example bombed compared to the first even though it was significantly better.
haha good joke
>shooters with power armor are halo ripoffs
Mmmm, warmed-over old bait
Thanks :)
It's funny how MS never acquired Crytek even though they made the best looking console game to date in Ryse: Son of Rome.
Crysis 1 looked really good, but Uncharted 1 looked better back then, both released on the same year.
You're a special kind of retard
Crysis didn't only take advantage of the graphical capabilities of the PC, but also the keyboard+mouse.
Crysis, as it originally is, is too complicated for console controllers.
It is literally impossible to replicate what Nanosuitninja did in Crysis, on the console version of Crysis.
I'm glad Crytek collapsed after the fell for the false song of consolization.
Crysis 2 is the only game I legitimately hate.
Tore out everything good about C1 and Warhead to pander to the modern shooter crowd.
Plus the fucking comics.
What you call full advantage is being done now except now you call it bad optimization.
>no use making a game that requires the best fucking pc in existence
Crysis actually ran pretty well even on older hardware.
>Crysis actually ran pretty well
user that's complete fucking bullshit, and you either know it or you're lying when you say you played it in 2007.
You needed a top tier gaming computer to run it at bare minimum and to squeeze 30 fps out of it.
what game?
mr. retard, HD2600XT could do +40fps on 900p/medium settings
You have to remember that most casuals knew jackshit about GPU's, hence its reputation.
Too bad gameplay was extremely repetitive.
paragon, the only game with actual graphics atm
