Every girlfriend I've had is already a gamer. I wouldn't have dated them if they weren't, 'cause I'd have nothing to discuss.

I don't play most games with my wife, but she and I love getting high and playing Yoshi's Island or Wooley World.

I would like to, but she won't touch a game if it's even remotely competitive.

She even gets discouraged if we're taking turns on a game and I breeze through a stage she was struggling with. It makes me feel like shit but I'm not gonna gimp myself.

Surprisingly, she would refuse any help I would offer her when she was attempting to play Dark Souls 1 which I admit impressed me. She really wanted to git gud.

I have a fiancé. We don't always play our games together because we're both really big on single player genres like JRPGs and life sims, so we normally play those separately then talk about them between play sessions. We kind of treat it like a book club, but that's hardly a hard and fast rule. For example, she talked me into trying Persona 3 and 4 a while back, and she was often watching what I would do and checking for reactions during big moments, like when I would confess to a girl in the games (Mitsuru and Naoto respectively), or when someone would get injured/ die. That sort of thing.

Sometimes, however, our game tastes let us have a lot of fun together. The big examples that stick out in my mind are Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokemon. With Animal Crossing in particular we spent hours playing around in each others' villages and being disgustingly cute while messaging each other some really dirty stuff over the primitive chat system.
