Console turns itself on in the middle of the night to update
w.......w......atching......y.........o...uu..uu.u..........
>TV starts flickering even when its off
These blue pulsing LEDs are the worst.
I have to drape a piece of cloth over my Vita's PS button just so I can get to sleep.
you have to be over 21 to post here
>roommate buys a WiiU and after some testing we go to sleep
>my door is open and I can see the living room in the darkness
>fall asleep
>wake up in the middle of the night at like 2 am
>just see the tv shimmering a little bit in the darkness
>close my eyes for like 5 minutes
>suddenly hear a sound
>open my eyes
>the TV turned itself on
>it's just a completely white screen
>get nervous
>suddenly commercial plays
>it's all stuttery and has artifacts all over
>whatthefuckishappening.jpg
>not sure if I should stand up or watch it in terror
>my room mate also wakes up because its loud as fuck
>we literally don't know what happened and go back to sleep
>it does it again in the morning
I don't understand why they would put this shit into their consoles that they can just boot up on their own to display you a fucking commercial.
>PC does nothing you don't want it to
>updates Windows 10
consoletards confirmed for being a bunch of homo pussies
>not having Windows 7 with all updates off
>net stop wuauserv
>sc config wuauserv start=disabled
ez
>you can hear when a CRT is on even when it's muted
This is proven to do nothing. It only works on enterprise versions of windows 10. Otherwise you wouldn't get advertisements in your startmenu, which you still get.
*want to turn off pc and go to sleep*
>suprise long update time
>windows updates and breaks your webcam
>online test requires webcam
>fail mid-term
mfw
The ads are controlled through the settings app?
I've done this on Pro and Enterprise SKUs and the update service never gets re-enabled.
I think you're referring to enabling the group policies, which is enterprise only
>win10 shuts itself off in the middle of the night to update
I was playing Cookie Clicker you assholes
>not having a computer quiet enough to leave it running
what the fuckkkkkkk
i cant stop staring
my computer is in my bed room
>jacking off in front of my tv
>kinect suddenly powers on
My computer does that and it pisses me off.
All I want to do is watch Cherie DeVille get railed by 4 black cocks and my stupid computer has to wake up and judge me.
It's probably steam doing something.
it's just a makeup bro
>Have Win10
>Put computer into sleep mode for the night
>Right as I'm falling asleep my PC jolts back to fucking life, screen lights up the room, fans taking off like a jet engine
>Scares the shit out of me
Does this happen to anyone else? Is it just some Windows 10 thing?
>game hangs on the "saving" screen
>have to decide if it's just taking a long time or if it froze
>bring yourself to take the risk and turn it off
gl with getting all the virus in the world
check the log for the wake reason
My computer used to have that whenever it went into sleep mode. It was bright as fuck so I put a sock over it.
>want to go to bed
>"installing updates 5 of 21" after 30 minutes
That's been happening to me so fucking much lately. Sometimes closing explorer windows keeps it asleep, sometimes not. Sometimes unplugging my tablet will keep it asleep. Sometimes, if it's woken up and *then* I unplug anything, I get a bluescreen. Like what the fuck. And I end up spending like an extra half hour fucking with my computer before I can just sleep...
and checking this unfortunately doesn't show shit
>leave PC on overnight for muh torrents
>completely forget to change the sleep timer
>get woken up in the middle of the night by bright as the sun monitors and cpu fan noise
fucking technology man
PC wakes up from hibernation in the middle of the night for no reason
>mfw virusmcheck didnt fix this
>mfw moving my desk to another place and reconnecting everything didnt fix this
>mfw clean bios and windows reinstalling didnt fix this
>mfw getting a new case and few new parts and installing them didnt fix this
>basically my pc is a tesseus ship by now and its still happening
>moved to another city
>my pet died

>and checking this unfortunately doesn't show shit
wat, for what purpose
technically illiterate retarded mongoloids, every single one of you
>shitty power provider lets your power have momentary outages at least once a week
>turn ps4 back on to get warned to not turn my ps4 off like that
>mfw
Niggas with spoopy PCs, check your bios, it might be a "Wake on LAN" case.
>that hair
>not buying a UPS
>living in India
The sad thing is
I live in a nice suburbia in Texas
buy a ups , retard. there like 100 dollars for one that can power the console tv and modem
>tfw they actually did it and killed him off
why did they even bother killing and resurrecting him in the previous season is beyond me
Check your update settings. Mine was set to check for updates at 3:00AM.
Wait wut? Do all you guise just leave your stuff on stand by all the time?
You don't just turn your plugs off when you are not using them to save power?
>fake eye is different color
fucking hacks
plugs that you can turn off are not common here
what a semen demon
NOPE
>would put computer to sleep when going out
>usually come home to find it on
>sometimes would wake right back up after being put to sleep
>mouse kind of jittery sometimes in use
>thought it was a mouse issue
>unplug mouse after putting PC to sleep
>works for two times then starts waking up on the regular
>just kind of deal with it for a year
>move to a new place
>shut down computer
>it turns itself on
>shut down again
>returns with the opposite action
>shut down computer turn off power supply
>it works
>read up on it
>ethernet can literally turn on computer from an off state
>default on in Windows
>disable in Control Panel
>computer not possessed anymore
Turn... plugs off?
I usually am working on 3 things at once up until I go to sleep so I prefer being able to just put it to sleep and resume in the morning
Oh shit really? Are you not worried about fires and shit?
I just always assumed it was not safe to just leave shit plugged on all day...
Also why not?
>put PC in sleep mode
>it wakes up exactly 11 minutes later, then goes back into sleep mode before repeating the process infinitely
fucking annoying
>literal zipperhead
Yeah switch off the isolation...
>not having a computer quiet enough to leave it running in the bedroom
This.
>hear a weird sound while browsing the net/playing vidya, something that didn't come from said vidya/your browser
>you never ever hear the sound again
Oh
None of my outlets have switches
Cause unless you have space heaters running all the time or a Samsung Note 7, things aren't going to spontaneously combust.
>console
>console turns you on in the middle of the night
Steam can do some weird shit, even when a windows isn't open.
>browsing Sup Forums
>AH, HELLO, MY NAME IS DOCTOR ERIC SIGURTSON, HEAD OF WEAPONS AND MATERIALS RESEARCH
>no active steam window
>black mesa store page is open
>wasn't even the last thing I was looking at when I closed the window
This is makeup, right?
Fucking Austin Energy
>concentrated on writing something
>suddenly see a popup in the corner of my eye
>continue writing in order not to lose my train of thought
>check all my running programs afterwards
>no notifications, no messages, nothing

Still....
Save power and all that stuff...
>have crt
>turn it off when I sleep
>still get radiation poisoning
>My PS4 leaves the fan running 24/7 if its in standby mode
>Have to turn off fully to sleep at night
>100 updates for everything when I turn it on
They actually brained Steven Yeun to get a good looking shot.
They ended up doing two takes though.
I don't know how they managed to put him back together after the initial goring, but they did a real good job, that's for sure.
>console turns itself on in the middle of the night to give you an advertisement
What about when your PS4 randomly ejects disk at night by itself. Seriously is it just me?
...
As an X1 owner this genuinely terrifies me when it happens in the middle of the night.
I had a really loud video card so when my PC turned on it sounded like a biker was driving outside my window.
Had to unplug it alot.
But this has nothing to do with being eco friendly.
Use to happen to me all the time and it would beep and shit
I had the halo 5 one, scared the fucking shit out of me
>computer turns itself back on if you put it in sleep mode
>Enable Wake on LAN for PC
>It turns on at random times for no reason
>last class of the day
>about to leave and tired as fuck
>shut down my laptop
>"Please do not turn off your device. Installing updates: 1 of 23"
Fuck Windows 10, and fuck Microsoft. This has happened multiple times, and it's ONLY at school.
it can still run while the lid is closed
>put laptop in bag
>it cooks itself to death
Even so, I'd have to have a stable WiFi connection. But I'm leaving the campus.
>Having common sense with Windows Defender and MalwareBytes
accept that's wrong
>Defender defends against vulnerabilities in the core OS
Nigga, I still sleep with my light on
Guys, check the Task Scheduler in Windows. By default, there are a lot of things that happen in the background at specified times under certain circumstances (attempting to connect to the Internet to syncronize the clock, automatic registry backup, Windows running a scan of the system's power settings, etc.).
These are usually set to run when the computer is idle or at times like 1:00 AM. They can wake the system from sleep/hibernation sometimes.
>actually using antivirus
shiggity nip nong diggity
